Filipinos live by the Zimbabwe proverb, "If you can walk you can dance. If you can talk you can sing." Notice the proverb did not say you have to do it well, just do it. It is one of my favorite things about being half Filipino is how the karaoke machine is broken out at every family gathering. When everyone sings almost every day it's like any other skill or talent, it will improve. We all don't sing well. I'm smack dab in the middle of average myself, good enough for a choir but not for a solo. I have an uncle that was scouted for a record deal as a teen in the 50s but my grandparents didn't want him singing secular music. I also have an aunt that couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. What we have in common is that we will sing because it feels good to. That is why so many Filipinos sing so well. Most of them sing on a daily basis because it feels good giving them lots and lots of practice.
Let's be honest, because I've seen a lot of comments here that Filipinos can sing but can't hit the right note. (which is true somehow). But I really like your comment here, because filipino can't afford going to Music schools that can improve their vocals.(Unlike other countries that are very strict when it comes to improving their singing skills, for example Korea and China). Wherein the PH if you can sing, you can just practice on the Karaoke. So most of Filipino singers are not aware of the notes they're singing. You are lucky if you can afford having Vocal Coach. This is just my opinion only, no hate just love.
“I’m basically half Filipino” gurlll- if you tell us you’re full Filipino, we’d fully accept you! You got that “pusong Pinoy” which basically means being a Filipino at heart or simply loving the Philippines/Filipino/culture
Here in the Philippines, the all girls and all boys schools are not quite common but I think there are still schools with all boys and all girls. But majority are mixed and just classified as private school or public school. In college though, some colleges have majority of boys or girls depending on their courses. For example the maritime university, we all know that mostly who are enrolled to be in maritime are boys but there are also some girls (majority are boys tho). Also, in our school, the nursing and pharmacy department are mostly girls and only a few boys are there. It just depends on the course preferred whether it's majorly girls or boys. But mostly it's mixed
