Your tone is so amazing and soloing ability is out of this world you have been a huge inspiration to me and led me down a great path as a musician thank you Chad.
Such a mature sound! I really admire Chad's growth and restraint from scooping all the long notes in a down-tempo tune. Obviously killer and swingin' too, can't wait to get the transcription book!
Chad, wonderful playing as always. The next standard you guys should do is Ceora by Lee Morgan. That's song is very seldom done and it is a beautiful tune, that I am sure you and the squad would kill. Hoping to see it as your next upload :D!
I wish there was a catalog of standards played and then explained by the player. I was hoping he would talk about what went into learning this tune for him and how he dealt with the changes. I enjoyed listening tho
He does have a video explaining how he learns standards. First knowing the song very well tried wise. Then being able to play through the tune diatonicaly and do diatonic enclosures to the leading tones of each chord. Then doing two note enclosures for all the leading tones through the tune. Then three note enclosures through the whole tune. Again this is explained a kit better in other videos of his but I'm just trying to inform you. Hope this helps :)

Wow, Eric's swing is amazing. His quarter notes are so relaxed, yet they push the beat so perfectly.

Great! Like good old hard bop from the 50's.
excellent drummer
I agree, he has great feel, and it's pretty cool how he uses a half open sizzle hi hat as a ride near the end there! Don't hear too much of that
I forgot how to swing hard for a little while. Now I remember how. Thx Chad!
Have anyone know what mouthpiece that he use?
