Riiiight. That’s the first thing I said from bar 1 bruh😆. I was like....I thought I clicked on a white dude video....oh wait I did! My dude got chops....they all got skills. Nice!
That is something I have not heard in a long time... great modern musicians... playing as good as the giants of the past. Not jaded, sarcastic or corny... Just beautiful modern day poetry. ...and my favorite players of current times...
There's a ton of this type of playing going on. The kids are alright. There's more great jazz now than evvvvvver, complete with subtle, appropriate, carefully considered reharm. It just gets drowned out easily in a TH-cam driven culture.
He could get dressed up a bit nicer though... oh, and it doesn't hurt to comb your hair a bit either. He's got some phenomenal playing though I'll give him that.
I can’t understand anyone giving a dislike on this performance. It is very inspiring in its musicianship, sense of history and sensitive improvisatory interplay. I am so glad to have heard Chad and his excellent band!
The Piano players timing, touch,.........expression,...........is so otherwordly.............it's like he is an angel visiting this planet...............
Super beautiful version...the tone of your sax is really gorgeous and your phrasing is an encyclopedia of the best players in jazz history, all mixed by your own personality...and what to say about the rythm section? a world classy comping creating warm and sweetness all around. Top professional performance!!!
Man I was thinking the same thing. He made me want to listen...wow...he knew all the right notes to play, the right approaches, how long to hold the notes...wow
What a wonderful interpretation of a good old fashioned standard, so soulful, so surprisingly modern, so touching, so technically excellent. Thank you for this gift.
Way way back about 1962 on the way home from a jazz gig @1:0 ish am. late night Radio came thro' with a solo recording of Ben Webster, 'Danny Boy' I had to stop & listen with misty eyes ; he got me !! & Chad just got me again on this !. Grreat !! stuff. Keeping the Beautiful Dream alive.
my mind is blowing away... great articulation, played in a wide range, I love the lowest tones of the sax. And what a great feeling and interpretation. AMAZING!!!
Ok, this is plain sick!! This has been my favorite ballad for year and years. My favorite version is Brecker playing it, I believe with Elvin Jones. This is a completely different style and now my pretty close to equal favorite alongside the Brecker version. THIS IS SO GORGEOUS!!!!!
That was so delicious! Probably my new very fave performance of this song. Beautiful colors. Chad, your tasteful blend of soul and technique are quite inspiring. Great musicians. Piano... OMG. Just stunning. Thank you.
Buonasera Chad complimenti! Ascoltarvi è come vedere messi su un piatto tutti i sentimenti più profondi che caratterizzano l'essere umano, pura essenza. Grazie mille
Beautiful guys. What a wonderful and tasty rendition. (Separately, I was slightly distracted that the awesome piano player was wearing a T-shirt while the rest of the group had some nice outfits. Might want to sync that up next time) Again, this was just awesome to listen to- we’ll done
he plays the tune in Ab minor concert so that he can play the melody in the lower register of the tenor and play those nice fat low tones of the horn. In the original key of G minor you're forced to play the melody in the horn's upper register, like Coltrane did because the tenor only goes down to low Ab concert.

Damned tasty for any decade. I can't be the first to suggest it but your stage name should be Chad Lib.
What a wonderful interpretation of a good old fashioned standard, so soulful, so surprisingly modern, so touching, so technically excellent. Thank you for this gift.
Nobody does it better than John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman. But this cover is really good!

I think one of my goals as a musician is to make people feel the way I do when I listen to this. Fuck. Euphoria.
