I never played an instrument. I had never heard any music other than that of the disco music. One day I passed in a way of my little city in the south of Italy. They were the 90s, today I'm 43 years old. This music shop broadcasting an American radio. I heard Eric Marienthal. It was the first time I heard such a saxophone, fusion or jazz....today i don't known! :) .
I stopped to listen to him, since then I asked the shopkeeper to order me every single Eric album. And I did not stop listening to him.
I started playing the saxophone, discovering the music, which saved me from a bad life. Thanks to the music I met the woman I love today more than my life.
I can say that Eric changed my life. I'm not a professional musician. I make the insurer, but every day i play sax, and my 2 guys have inherited my passion. They graduated at the Musical Conservatory. and they is a good musician!
All this, because a DAY OF MY LIFE, I stopped to listen Eric in a music shop. Now i'm happy , i have a good life, and I believe that besides that I have to have him too.
    THANK YOU

It's all terrific, and evidence of a lifetime of practice and application...BUT ..that sort of yammering thing he does at around around 2:25 for a couple bars is really fun. They're just too fast to be individual notes, so they just turn into a sort of growling. Pretty cool & something you don't hear a lot!

I would wish that the saxophone setup is different for this studio work aimed for the students; instead of a metal mouthpiece with high baffle, which may be good for concerts in open, better would be a mouthpiece with lower baffle and more nuanced sound. After all, notes are irrelevant to the student if the tone is bad; the quality of the tone is where even the professional players suffer. Today’s jazz and blues is plagued by too many notes delivered with bad tone.
