Carmen had a larger and more dramatic part, which enabled her to shine even more. I was surprised at Jordan Sparks. She really handled her own while acting. What stole the show to me is Ms. Sparks singing the song,ONE WING.OMG !!
The ladies remembered the songs better than the men, it seems like they all had fun making this great movie...R.I.P...the late Whitney Houston, may you continue to "Sparkle" and sing in heaven with the angels!!
I swear every single interview I see with various celebsthis guy KILLS it. He's super funny and everyone he interviews seems to genuinley like him alot.
No here is the break down: Sparkle (1976 film) concept based on the Supremes Dreamgirls Play (1981) based off Sparkle 1976 Dreamgirls (2006 film) based on the play of 1981 which was based on Sparkle. Sparkle (2012 film) remake of the 1976 cult classic.
I have to you all don't miss this movie it was fantastic I saw it Saturday night, it went above and beyond my expectations, Whitney and the whole cast were great, Whitney's acting in this movie was superb as was everyone. Don't get me wrong all the movies that Whitney was in were great this was her best performance by far. BRAVO WHITNEY HOUSTON R.I.P
Honestly, I don't understand why this movie was called "Sparkle". I understand that she is the most talented of her sisters because she can write, however Sister gets a more compelling story line. Should they have just renamed it "Sister"? For me. Carmen Ejogo steals the show.
Sparkle came first, in 1976. Dreamgirls was a Broadway musical in 1981. If Whitney had remade Sparkle in 2001 like she planned to, you would be thinking Dreamgirls was a re-run of Sparkle. It is all about timing and when things fall into place. But, Sparkle came first.
I agree. But the original had it focus on Sister as well. The only difference is in the original she died so the second half of the movie focused on Sparkle, but still Sister's character stole the show in both. Actually I thought both versions should have been titled something else. In this version I don't think they did a good job at having Sparkle stand out more but I understand they were trying to create something different. However I did enjoy the creativity of this version as well
There's been several footage of Whitney playing the piano and she playing it beautifully. I would love to ask her family how long she had been playing the piano and why didn't she play publicly. Another hidden talent from the 1andOnly Ms. Whitney Elizabeth Houston. Sparkle Countdown: 2 days to go
Suprisingly no .......but I will say this... wigs and weaves didnt even look like that in the 90's let alone the 60's lol...... All the slick lace front/ covering ever single afro textured bit of hair style wigs that they have now were not widely available. Ive seen alot of footage of Black women in the 1960's .....just look at The Ronettes, The Supremes, The Chiffons etc noone had fake hair like what is displayed in this film. my mum was a hairdresser in the 1960's in both America and England
Omg I love Carmen Ejogo accent, she acts well I couldnt even hear it when she ws in the movie
OMG Tika Sumpter is GORGEOUS!!!!

Carmen Ejogo is so pretty !
Jordin Sparks is the youngest one up there and she's pretty much just carrying the whole interview on her shoulders.
Tika is Stunning!!

Actually, Dreamgirls is based on the the real back story of Dianna Ross and the Supremes who began their career as the Primettes with Motown in 1961.

It's parts they show at the end of this interview that they don't show in the movie.

I wasn't really a Whitney Houston fan; however Whitney did an AWESOME job in this movie. The movie is really....really good.
She has an accent. :)

SPARKLE CAME BEFORE DREAMGIRLS!!!!! DO YOUR RESEARCH PEOPLE!!!!
The movie was great. Whitney Houston did her thang

The screenplay was so weak, but I love their camaraderie here.
actually loosely based off of sef several of the girl groups of the era not just the Supremes
why in the fuck carmen said big butts that shit was crazy 1:38-1:41
Mike Epps is a fool lol
dreamgirls wasn't based on sparkle neither sparkle on dreamgirls...two completely different movies. Dreamgirls was loosely based on the supremes
