I know this movie didn't get that many great reviews but the acting that these three women gave is criminally underrated. The head turn and walk off of Carmen is soooo good.
I felt that Jordin Sparks did not do justice to the roll of Sparkle at all. Everyone else gave strong performances; Sparks did not. I expected much more from her, for she is supposed to be the lead! I find that out of the three sisters, this is definitely Carmen Ejogos movie! I wished they gave Tika Sumpter more screen time, as well as a stronger individual storyline.

Whenever a remake is done it's a need to make it better than the original. The reality is the original movie is considered a cult classic and nothing can change that
