A New Encounter with a Wild Albino Elephant & A Night with Khanyisa Asleep in the Homestead ✨

- We love getting a view of the wild albino elephant in our reserve as she always Iva us a glimpse into what is ahead for Khanyisa. The wild albino is thriving in her herd and continues to look after her own calf. Her herd has many babies, showing they are all healthy and settled. Covered in mud and sand, the albino cow’s unique colouring becomes harder to see but as with Khanyisa, the eyes, hair and pink patches often behind the ears give her away. Adine shares a moment with her and her herd here before joining the rescued herd in the homestead.
Watch as Khanyisa lies down on some of the lucerne in the homestead, choosing to sleep under the canopy instead of on the mounds outside, probably because she is used to this set up from the orphanage. Tokwe is close beside her and Timisa and Kumbura also move in to stand by her as she lies down sleeping.
Timisa and Fishan show their close bond, standing together, and soon Khanyisa wakes and joins them, to graze on the branches, bana grass and lucerne in the homestead. Adine gets a visit from Mambo and Lundi too who seem curious about their visitor.

Incredible footage! The wild Herd with an older albino female was fascinating and I can't believe how close that one came to Nadine. Curiosity goes both ways!
Glad to see Khanyisa is now able to sleep on the ground, showing signs of comfort in her new home. I am sure she misses the cuddles of her caregivers still.
Oh wow this sighting of the wild albino elephant and her family is amazing it’s wonderful to see her doing so well with her own little one she’s so beautiful. I had been hoping for more glimpses of her since the last videos from a year ago so this is extra special thank you for this nighttime treat Adine. It’s such peacefulness as the Jabulani herd settles in for the night with the crickets providing the nighttime lullaby in the background accompanied by the soothing sound of these gentle giants enjoying their delicious browse purely relaxed and content;I love seeing them this way. Khanyisa Braveheart and her family are good for the soul in so many incredible ways elephant ASMR they take my breath away every time.❤️❤️🐘🐘

This was a beautiful video of the wild herd. The last elephant seemed to look at Adine and say good bye. Seeing the Herd at night is so different. So happy our baby has settled in so well! Great job to all involved ❤

How awesome was it for Adine to go outside to the elephants to let us see our sweet Khanyisa and her Herd family too.🐘❤️🙏🏻. She was peacefully sleeping and it was so precious to see.🥰⭐️🐘 I love how the elephants were surrounding her and protecting her too while she was sleeping.🥰😊❤️🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘 So nice to see Fishon and the others too. They all seemed so relaxed until there was a scent in the air that caught their attention. Their senses sure are very powerful which is very good when you have two youngsters with them too. There was lightening in the distance so maybe too they were smelling rain in the air. But anyway, it was good to see Khanyisa safe and happy with her family even though she really can’t be with Her real adopted mom. I do know that they are together during the days and that is great. This was such a treat! Many thanks for this footage. Getting up in the morning just to be part of a late night visit in the wild and afterwards at the homestead. I feel so privileged. Khanyisa seems to really have settled in well, happy to have someone of the heard around the clock now. Thank you for letting us visit and making these impressions possible to see for us all.

How peaceful is that scene? Beautiful to watch. It's a lovely feeling when all your animals are safely tucked up in bed at night. Aaahhh, the African bush sounds, sights and smells .... How I miss it. Yes, I may call Australia home now but it's not the same 😞.

This was a delightful video, Adine. You were so fortunate to catch up with the wild herd and speak to them so gently and softly as you do with Khanyisa. It was great to see that they have some little ones, too. There's nothing cuter than a baby elephant. . But, when you got to the Homestead, we all finally got to see our little Meisiekind sleeping so soundly next to her sisters. This was a wonderful moment for all of us followers. To see how nice the Homestead is layed out and all the HERD so calm and peaceful munching away. So much is their love and trust of you and the Carers. Thank you for this!

Through the night they will sleep standing up or lying down outside on the mounds or grass

Gorgeous view and of the thunder and lightning. The wild elephants were amazing but as I watched it made me realize how dangerous wondering around at night there could be. Adine is truly educated, respectful of and most importantly loving to them so they were relaxed.
Khanisia is doing so good I still wonder sometimes if she doesn’t miss her old home.

Absolutely! Wild elephant herds can be very dangerous if they feel threatened, and charge! Wonderful footage indeed, and I too cannot wait to see Khanyisa visit her dear old friends at the orphanage once she is totally settled in at her new home!!!

Where do the Elephants sleep when it is raining with thunder and lightning? Do they still stay under the shelter or sleep on the dirt mounds? Do the storms make them antsy at all?
They do have the shelter for them to sleep under if they want it 🏡 The storms can frighten certain elephants just as it does any other animals or humans. But there are ellies that will try put other ellies at ease ❤

The full moon is gorgeous. But it’s hard not to think about the poachers who take advantage of the beautiful moonlight. Makes me sad. I’m glad that HERD has a great APU. I loved seeing the wild herd. So many adorable babies.

@@alison__16 don't know what is going on but the pain is brutal. Can you imagine what these creatures must go thru when struck by pain, not knowing what why or how to fix it. I never thought much about it till now but I always will reflect back to what I am going thru and how fortunate I am to be atop the food chain being able to explain, research, and be given remedy.

Yes, majority of elephants sleep standing up as it is a lot of effort to pick themselves up ❤🐘

How many are in the other herds ?is fish the dad of some off your herd ?
We are unsure how many elephants are in the other herds. We just keep track of ours that has 16 ❤. Unfortunately we do not know who the fathers are amongst our herd. It could be some of our bulls or it could be from other wild bulls on the reserve🤷♀️
Thank you for this amazing video. The wild herd with the albino mother, and the babies, plus the curious straggler, then the ever vigilant herd resting and caring for the young ones while also on guard enough to notice interesting scents in the air.

How exciting to come across a herd of wild elephants at night! Good to see the wild albino elephant again, and so many little ones, so cute. The last one to join them at 2:34 has a beautiful pair of tusks and pretty eyes too.

It is extremely rare 👀 Their eyes are just more sensitive to the sun but they learn to adapt by not opening their eyes fully if its too bright etc.
