The trumpets suck this year bro. The saxes are carrying and can sight read most things with ease, trumpets can't play the song even though we have had it for 2 months, but trombones are mid. They have trouble sight reading, but they can actually learn it, unlike trumpets. Saxes are just cracked in the band I'm In bru

First time I played this I was playing with my upper jazz band (at the time I was in our lower) and I play Bari, and we played it at least twice as fast as we normally do and it was super fun

Changing the speed to 1.25x is just amazing
It fits better with the original Adderley recording and I like it

Does anybody have access or know where I can find the sheet music for the trumpet solo in the video (2:48). I have access to the printed one but I was wondering if anyone has this one.
Transcribe it yourself. It is improvised so you would have to learn it by ear if you really want to play it.
It's improv, your best bet is transcribing by ear like Benjamin recommended above, or improvising with the melody and intervals in mind.

Oh rip. Well at least you guys get to play what's written. Our band director doesn't let us play what's written. We always have to ad-lib our solos.
That's what jazz is all about. You don't just play what's written and go from there. Improvisation plays a HUGE part in every jazz songs. Improvisation is what gives jazz its "feel."

Just the arranger forgetting rhe bari sax is an instrument for half the piece and then giving them a solo to make up for it

@@Birdx69420 look at the score as it plays, (typically) is only playing hits and long notes. The first time the bari plays anything remotely interesting is when its playing a soli with the saxes, but, guess what? Bari only plays during 1 or 2 of them. The only particularly intersting part of this arrangement for the bari is the solo. Listen back and look at the bari part on the score. The opening is alto 1.
