He was so mad that he started walking and didn't realize he had gone so far from home. The gas station worker let him use the phone and he, sheepishly, asked that I come get him. I did. He apologized and he only had one other blow up in the 30+ years we were married... He didn't forget his keys that time.
On TWO separate occasions in different years and with different partners I halted an argument dead with a 'look'. I have dark brown eyes. Both gentlemen told me later my eyes had gone BRIGHT GREEN. It was so disquieting that it shocked them out of what they were thinking. I have never regretted any relationship I've been in because they 1. teach you something about yourself, or 2. teach you what you DON'T want in a relationship. I'm a firm believe that people only treat you the way you allow them to. So as hard as it was to walk away from a person I loved and had spent so long with... I was worth it. I've only spoken to him a handful of times since then. We knew each others families so well because we'd known each other since 1st grade, so when we've had deaths in the family and all we call or text. We talked a couple of years ago because we ran into one another, but we talked for a few minutes and he mentioned that he had just gotten engaged, etc. In my head I thought, if I had dated this version of him things would have probably turned out so different. I don't believe in once a cheater always a cheater. But I do believe that once someone has cheated on YOU, they will 9/10 times continue to cheat because they got away with it. Long replay, but there is my dating philosophy in a nut shell. LOL

When my last relationship ended I buried myself in work. Dating was my last priority. So I had several people tell me that I needed to slow down at work, that I was working to much, or that I needed to put myself out there. Well at that time I was so checked out on dating that I would always tell them... the day a man treats me as well as my direct deposit, I think about it. 🤣

I grabbed his phone (which I am not a girl that goes through people stuff, but I had probable cause) I found vial pictures, busted into the bathroom... threw his phone in the water of the shower and told him to get his shhhhh and get out. I have never regretted any relationship I've been in because they 1. teach you something about yourself, or 2. teach you what you DON'T want in a relationship. I'm a firm believe that people only treat you the way you allow them to. So as hard as it was to walk away from a person I loved and had spent so long with... I was worth it. I've only spoken to him a handful of times since then. We knew each others families so well because we'd known each other since 1st grade, so when we've had deaths in the family and all we call or text. We talked a couple of years ago because we ran into one another, but we talked for a few minutes and he mentioned that he had just gotten engaged, etc. In my head I thought, if I had dated this version of him things would have probably turned out so different. I don't believe in once a cheater always a cheater. But I do believe that once someone has cheated on YOU, they will 9/10 times continue to cheat because they got away with it. Long replay, but there is my dating philosophy in a nut shell. LOL

@@dylanw6 I think we all have that 1 relationship that we think... how the hell did I not know, or how did I let them treat me like this or that. But, hindsight is 20/20. When my last relationship ended I buried myself in work. Dating was my last priority. So I had several people tell me that I needed to slow down at work, that I was working to much, or that I needed to put myself out there. Well at that time I was so checked out on dating that I would always tell them... the day a man treats me as well as my direct deposit, I think about it. 🤣
