I love how they addressed some issues finally. I'm delighted to hear that the plastic is no longer that brittle "signature" plastic that Dyson used since the beginning. Too bad that I could never afford something like that.
It’s definitely more robust, however it has so much power that the brushbar barely works on my carpets sadly

@@parwaz7861 I have the same problem with my V15, I actually got sent a replacement head twice as I thought it as faulty, then a whole new machine and it still does it. Really not good for such an expensive "premium" vacuum. Unfortunately these days Dysons look the part and very premium, but they just aren't built very well and constantly have issues, even if like me you look after it.

Nice vacuum. I have a cordless Prettycare and it works great. But I'm considering buying another vacuum to use both and this vacuum's bendable wand attracts me.😄
Great review parwaz! I bought a cordless Prettycare. It works great but I still consider a new one has similar features with my Prettycare as my mom's birthday gift. I'll definitely look more into them.

There is high tourque, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it won't stall on carpet. It's because the brushbar is so big so there is more resistance (you are correct with that)
High torque for a cordless, yes, however compared to a Dyson ball upright the torque on those is much higher

im not looking to buy one but i know dyson are trying to catch up with corded vacuums. what would you say its better than. is it dc07 type suction or maybe something stronger?
It has around the same suction as a Dyson DC33 (262AW on this vs the DC33 at 255AW)
I’d prefer to use a DC07 origin instead because the brushbar has more torque than the Gen 5

It appears that Eco mode just works good enough on your carpet, as I could see the small dust particle counter shot up. While a slow roller brush is not ideal, a regularly cleaned carpet doesn't need much of the high spinning brush
It still slows down the brushbar unfortunately when I vacuum carpets on eco mode which are matted down

Gosh I am glad I saw your video, I was almost sold on this but now thinking again... I wonder with this Dyson, as it has the suction equal to an electric barrel vac, if it would run better on just a normal head without rollers? Cheers mate, going to look at Bosch unlimited serie 7 now, but wondering if this has the same problem l. Not many vids on it but the few I have seen look a bit hard to push on carpet...
I’m glad you found it helpful and informative! Thank you for your comment, as for the suction its incredibly strong on boost mode, in the medium mode the suction is okay, quite a lot less powerful than a barrel vacuum if I’m honest and eco mode has even more reduced airflow
I’ve heard good things about Bosch! I haven’t used one though. If I’m honest l, I quite like the Dyson v10 or the V8 those are brilliant and work very well
@@parwaz7861 gosh really appreciate that info. It is so hard to get real info. Most go on about boost suction and eco run time neither of which are helpful to find out the performance of ordinary everyday vacuum use. There is no way I would buy a vac that I have to use in boost mist of the time, and sometimes I think this auto mode is hiding how often vacs need to use boost. I would rather have control and adjust settings myself.. the trouble with the earlier Dysons is they dont have removeable and backup batteries, I really want something I can extend runtime on if needed. Pity they dont make battery/electric the same as petro/electric cars..... ok so back to the drawing board :(

If I’m honest, the v10 is a pretty decent machine, it cleans well enough on medium power despite the low suction compared to a corded vacuum due to the motorised brushbar which effectively separates carpet fibres to dislodge deep down dirt, I would rather have one over a Gen 5 Dyson any day of the week
As for corded vacuums, I quite like a Henry vacuum for a barrel design of machine. They’re absolute fantastic with their simple design, huge dustbags, relatively hard to clog up (they’re the go to choice for builders, offices, schools and hospitals in the UK) because they’re so well made and do the job
There’s an Airobrush attachment that comes with Henry Xtra which it an air driven brushbar for carpets which I really like

Most Dyson chargers I’ve seen are dual voltage chargers that work with both 110V and 240V, however I can’t confirm with the Gen 5 as I no longer have it, I hope this helps!
Really wanted this but it’s just so heavy.
I don’t know, this kinda seems like a V15 with a built-in handheld functionality. Brushes, dirt bin and display functions are the same. Probably won’t justify the enormous price hike for most users.

my dyson outsize can do everything that my mains vacuum can do and more, whats so hard to understand about that?
@@mainsource8030 mainly the torque of the brushbar, where the brushbar slows down due to the high suction on some carpets
I hate how the dust bin stays permanently dusty. Sure you can clean the dust bin but no one is going to do that after every vacuum.

battery is the same as the V15, just saying
It isn’t the same as the V15 - it’s a higher voltage, is larger in size due to the extra cells and it doesn’t fit the V15
