I rode this on the 4th of July, but I chose to ride up the main paved road. The viewpoint was worth the slog 100%. I would say this is very much an XC trail. I would recommend everyone ride this if you have decent fitness and food, but don't expect it to be a fun downhill ripper. It's an awesome ride if you like XC. And that view of Mt. Hood is absolutely spectacular. Not a clearcut to be seen.
I have scouted part of this as a good little loop with an old road to get up it, but hadn't done it yet. This trail has different parts that have their own little personalities. This is definitely a more remote part of the woods - more like hunters and those on the run than the usual spandex crowd you would see in Bend.
Gotta love falls creek! I ride and camp here every year for my birthday in June. Your original video inspired me to check out the terminator "trail" when I was up there a month ago, but unfortunately, it seems to have been abandoned by the trail fairies as it was overgrown and had about 18 trees down on it. Could have something to do with the washed-out road... Thanks for continuing to put out awesome content!
Thanks for the comment! I left Terminator out this time because it’s been pretty neglected. It would be easier to access if you didn’t have to drive around a washout.
