    10:00 - you can make this operation easier by simply removing all unnecessary polygons, selecting the edges and through the stitch and sew tool, pressing shift and connecting one point to another.

    Great tutorial, but how can you do the line cuts? Everytime i do it the Polygon Pen tries to make a quad, even if i make a line it puts 2 points on top of each other.

    • @polygonpen

      In cinema 4d R25 - Select the lines as he did in the video, right click clip and look for the Weight Subdivision Surface option (below the Bridge option) and that's it. You will see the same panel that appears in the video.

    I am really happy to see this tutorial. c4d is still a very useful tool. I have seen too many tutorials about blender recently, but in the end, c4d is my favorite.
    I'm not saying that the tool is better to use, ;). But it feels that the people who can share this tutorial are great.

  • @boskbass
    @boskbass 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why should I use this subdivision instead of the default c4d one? What does it mean faster?

    • @polygonpen
      @polygonpen  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Basically you don't have to add supporting edge cuts to the mesh which is very time consuming, it gets more complicated and more time consuming as your mesh gets more detailed ( you will see the speed in the next parts)
      Plus you can easily change the base mesh since its low poly, this also makes it easier to bake low poly mesh to high poly ( this is for more like game asset but anyway) and you can exchange that model with other softwares like maya, 3ds max with FBX easly ( weighting vs), also it has performance advanteges when it comes to rigging vs.

    Hey Polygonpen love you videos! Just wanted to ask, how are you splitting through your edges using the polygon pen like at 1:45? Mine keeps attempting to create a new polygon instead of cutting through like yours

    • @polygonpen
      @polygonpen  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      just click on an edge then click on another edge, don`t press anything else, this will make a cut ( polygon pen tool)
