Great travel videos! You should visit Andinet Park/Unity Park. You'd get a lot of views for it, so you won't regret it. But I agree the foreign price is not fair.
Hi Ben. Here are some facts you may find interesting during your visit of Danakil depression in Afar region, 1) The area known as Dallol is well below sea level and has the highest yearly avg temperature in the world. Pls note that it is not the hotest place on earth. 2) The local Afar people have completely acclimatised to the very hot temperature of the region over millions of years. Hence, if you come accross some locals there, you would be surprised to see them walking for miles without even shedding a single drop of sweat. Proves just how hardy human being are, and given time, there isn't any hostile environment they can't acclimatise or conquer. 3) Erta'le volcano in Afar has been active for well over 90years now, and 4) It (Erta'le volcano) hosts one of the very few and largest larva lake in the world. 5) The smoke bellowing from the volcano as seen in your video clip contains various gases including sulphur - Not advised to linger too long around lest it knackers your lungs mate. 6) Some of the oldest human remains were found in Afar region. This perhaps was the very region where the 1st human beings appeared before conquering rest of the world. Enjoy your trip and look forward to your next vlog. Enjoy it mate. Sam

I know it's not the coldest place on earth (Oymyakon) but the locals survive there will bare minimum of protective clothing. For reference, at the summit of Mt Everest in mid May when expeditions happen, the temperature is an average -18C. So when you say this trip is right up there with Leh, that's saying something.
