I took up boxing with my friend a few months ago. You feel the most alive and focused in uncomfortable situations, made me realize that combat sports are a necessary discipline for all men..
I've heard that quote in the documentary In Search of Greatness, when they were talking about Michael Jordan "It's not life or death, but you have to act like it's life or death" Jordan did that
Wait, hold on, I'm not actually looking to become any sort of firefighter, I only meant that I'm trying to feed my motivations that are of similar proportions in terms of ambition. I just wanted to to make that clear so y'all don't start praising the wrong guy.
In the last week, I have lost 90% of my clients as a personal trainer. It's funny because I have been telling the universe that I wanted something different and here that new life is. This is urgency. This is a challenge, chaos, etc. Time to lock into the THUMOS and get it.

And its crazy how one act of courage can change your life forever becaus whenever you face a challenge , you motivate yourself just by the memories of that old acomplishment and how brave you were
Been months since I watched ur content, the last video I remember watching is when you're practicing to lift ur chin up shoulders back chest up and look deada$$ straight and never look down even when cars go passed. And another video where you talked about never letting go of eye contact when looking at a women, as not doing so is a sign of weakness and unable to hold masculine frame.
It's easy to get complacent; to stick with what's comfortable, known, and the familiar. The comfort zone is not where you find growth, progress, or success. We gotta push past our self-imposed limitations. Step out in the unknown to tackle the goals we want to achieve. Simple right? But I'm just rambling. This is more of a note to myself. I've been slacking, I've let my ambitions go to the way side. Slacking, falling back into the meaningless flow that life just pushes you around and you don't push back. It sucks but it's all on me and I ain't asking for a pity party. More like a kick in the ass or something.
a goofy expression for this is, "you're not a sandwich, no ones going to make you so you have to make yourself." need to consistently hold yourself accountable for improving yourself or doing your best.
Your BJJ comp example was pretty clear to me. I had something similar, after my first Judo comp, my elbow tendons were so fatigued from the non-stop gripping and nervousness. I didn’t actually experience this fatigue until a day later
The struggle for man in modernity can be the lack of meaningful struggle. Declare war on yourself. Set out to accomplish and create the exact life you want to live, and be willing to Die for it. @@flyingpuma9729 why are you leaving it up to the system to create your goals. Do your own thing, you are in the system it doesn’t mean you have to be defined by it in everyday. Create your way
Funny that you have made a video on this topic. I put in a letter of resignation for my English teaching job this week because I felt that it was more parent's dream rather than my own. Plus, I wasn't growing as a person. I decided to confront two of my fears learned from childhood by getting into business and language learning. I'm almost 30 myself (a financial and social failure) but I'm happier than ever before. The reason why I try to be ambitious is to keep my autistic nature in check as much as possible.
Great question, but I think trying to avoid these type of situations that the OP named like death, heart break etc.. to create urgency is really difficult to do because alot of these situations can be really good teachers. To quote Elisha in a past video, "sometimes you just have to suffer and die" alot of us do need to embrace suffering and hardship in order to kick things into gear. I think trying to avoid these will only make it worse because inevitably they are going to happen no matter how hard you try to avoid them and it'll hurt 10 times worse because how hard you worked to try and make them not happen. Other than that great knowledge and advice as usual 🤟 EDIT: don't actually die tho its just a figure of speech so don't take it literally but you guys get the point
Don’t bank on the death of family member to motivate you. It can make or break you. I’ve had other family members shut down from their parent passing and never really recovered. My mom had passed from cancer complications when I had turned 16. Yes it woke me up in the sense that life isn’t a Disney movie and bad things happen to everyone. You’re perspective on life will change and you’ll be more grateful of waking up everyday, close/meaningful relationships will be cherished more but you can still get comfortable and stagnant. It would be better to get to that point without them passing because you’ll be great and still have the pleasure of their existence.
I'm finding other ways, but what instantly motivates me into pushing myself accelerating in times of difficulty/times of discomfort (where each second feels like an hour, when I go on my bike), I imagine someone running behind me with a rambo hahahaha finna catch my a$$ lackin' so I peddle fast as f*** boi.
Don’t worry about finding yourself, find and truly seek God and once given the gift of grace the rest will take care of itself. The kingdom of heaven is on the line at all times, no greater death ground than this.
Im on death ground rn. Im 17 and turning 18. I want to get a scholarship and need physics to get it, but my school doesnt have physics so I have to complete the whole subject at home in 6 months, or I wont get the scholarship. Failiure really isnt an option
Of course you need money before you move out. But the personal growth that comes from it is very important and will probably make you more money in the long run.

Sounds like a great experience!
