I'm 56 and I found the Chappell show when it was actually on Comedy Central and watched every episode. It was so funny and irreverent. I couldn't wait for the next week to see what they would do!
Ha ha! At the time it was released i worked with my sisters and wife and we would listen to Chappelle’s stand-up all the time. I recorded every episode on VHS. Too funny!
They just put up pictures of celebs on set and had Patrice, Charlie, Rich Vos and Dave and the guys insult whoever came up. Then they just clipped out some of the best jokes for the skit. The insults were all "off the cuff" lol. They roasted people for like an hour. I've heard Patrice talk about it somewhere
Dave Chapelle most definitely riffed, I saw it myself once: I used to go to the Comedy Cellar in NYC all the time, back in the early 2000's when you could get in at 7pm and stay til 1 or 2am (3 shows) on one ticket price. Many times, ultra famous comics would show up unannounced, even the regular lineup didn't know they were coming, they'd just walk in and do a set. Other than Chapelle, I was lucky enough to see Ray Romano and Jerry Seinfeld show up unannounced, both were really good too. Dave Chappelle showed up unannounced, in 2005 or 2006 once when I was there and riffed for over an hour and a half. He was sorta torched but still hilarious. Maybe he had some ideas planned but you could tell it was mostly unscripted. Towards the end, he even started eating people's food from their plates, took one guys Deli meats, put it in his pocket, and said "mmmm ima go home and make me a sandwich!" He said to my brother, who has big puffy hair, "hey look, it's Sideshow Bob!" usually when a famous comic shows up unannounced, in my experience, they do about 10 to 20 minutes but it doesn't delay the show by much. This time they actually had to cancel most of the lineup from that 3rd show that night because Dave never got off stage! He kind of ran out of steam by 1am but was funny most of the time 😂. One of the most memorable times that I've been there.
The Rosie joke was freestyling according to The great Charlie Murphy which is why they all broke character cz they weren't expecting that. What a cast and writing!
If you watch this one with the commentary on, Neal Brennan said that the Dave, Charlie, Patrice and Donnell scenes were all improvised. In the bloopers, Patrice falls over when Dave says something to the effect that Patrice didn't have women/dates with him because he ate them.
“He got some dolphin teeth” is still one of my favorite snaps… 🐬🦷💀💀

The Mad Real World was my favorite skit he did.

For the very, VERY applicable Diddy stuff its the Making The Band (or something close) skit lol, its aged so damn well lol
The Rosie o donnell one was goat joke haha

Best show ever

“Hate. Hate. Hate. Hate.” 😆
Pimp pimp pimp suck it algorithm
I miss Patrice.
React the N Family by him from the same show. It’s hilarious.
Wasn't Bill Burr a writer on Chapelle Show?
No, but he appeared in a few skits. I am pretty sure Dave and Neal Brennan did most of the writing.
Check out some Mad Tv and In living color clips they are super funny also
Cc is not reactor.friendly. they just are down to like 9 total employees. Companies totally collapsed. They'll pop you eventually.
Dirty Dave wore all white for a Diddy party b4. I seen't the pictures bruh. Dude is losing credibility with his Trump Derangement Syndrome.
I know what they say about Chapelle, but I don't care. I think he's a funny mofo.
He all Diddy team
