If it wasn’t for Dr Dre. We probably would have never discovered Eminem, 50 Cent, Kendrick Lamar.
Thats wild to think about. Glad it all worked out in the end.
Lots of people knew about all three of before Dre did. How do you think Dre found out about them?
@@bennyjaminxoh so you gonna look at it like that huh 💀 sure but regardless DRE is the reason we have Eminem, 50 etc.
@@seanyoung9014let's be real. 50's biggest hit before Em and Dre was How to Rob. How many people know that song? And how many know In Da Club?
@havok6280 I understand there's a difference in the audience size but that's not the same as saying no one would know them. I owned 50 and Em's projects before they got with Dre. Em was a regular on the mixtapes me and my friends listened to in the mid 90s. Also, 50s biggest impact was his mixtape run, which is how he got signed. It's not always about what your biggest individual hit was.
“No YOU GOT IT” is my favorite line. Guys all pissed off at the kids 😂😂😂 8:53
😂😂
Mine too that was hilarious
right 😭😭😭😭😭he was mad af
💀
Kids ? They were all grown men . Cube was the only 18-19 year old . Mfer said kids lol
I was a white kid in the suburbs listening to NWA and Metallica in the late 80's. Great times!
@@soupsandwich1 I was a black kid in the hood listening to NWA and Metallica in the late 80s. Great times indeed.
@@seanyoung9014 Lars talked about listening to NWA in the 80s himself so it all tracks.
I was a white kid in the hood listening to The Beatles and Micheal Jackson... Metallica and NWA came later haha
I was a white man in the hood selling crack to @charlescox86
@@IDieHardForever You was listening to the Beatles in the hood? Hilarious!!!
In a bittersweet moment. Ice Cube, Dr Dre and MC Ren eventually reunited in 1998 to record the song "Hello". First time NWA recorded a song (Under the NWA name) after Eazy died. The last ever NWA song released "Chin Check" with Snoop was featured in the Next Friday movie
And that song was pretty dope too, in my opinion.
@@Lefty0000 hell yeah it was , still on my Playlist lol
Too bad Eazy-E (RIP) and Yella missed out
@@XxMayhem88It really sucks he got sick imagine what they could've done without Jerry involved
@@HexagonDonDada Eazy did get rid of Jerry but it was too late, Eazy are just waiting on Dr Dre to do the reunion album and he also had plans on having different producers do the album
The LAPD was actually using tactics like that with the tank in the beginning. They would actually do it to the wrong house sometimes.
Thats so wild
@@theperfectmixx Its American policing, which is why many people want it reformed. George Floyds death was a result of these type of racially motivated tactics. Among many deaths and harm caused to the black community.
yea.. theres a few famous songs about that. thank god it got banned.
Yup. One of the songs was called “Batterram” by Toddy Tee
Facts.
23:04 when Cube’s “baby one the way” is grown up playing his father.
I know pretty wild
He's referring to himself 😂
The scene where Eazy gets jumped by Suge Knight's crew was innacurate because nobody wouldnt even touch Eazy, knowing that the whole of Compton had his back. For a short guy, he really held his own.
Him going broke didn’t happen either and Dre being super gangster was fiction too
@@Phantomiam Yea, Dre definitely did NOT run the show like they portrayed in this film. Nobody was afraid of him. The only people who had any real threat behind their names was Eazy E and Suge Knight.
Except suge did beat up Eazy.
And what your saying is inaccurate because according to Suge he admitted on tv years (after Eazy’s death) that the new way of killing people is to get a syringe with the blood of a hiv infected person and shoot you with it. Then he literally said, “it’s an Eazy E thing”.
@@moosejuicepie2467 no he didn't
I'm so happy you watched this movie, one of my favourites!
Yeah, we're so glad we checked this out!
it's truly cinematic history that Ice Cube son played 'ice cube' in this authentic story movie!
Cube was one of the lead actors in Boyz In The Hood, it was his first acting role with zero experience and he did great. Ya'll should check it out. Covers some of the same themes of this movie, gangs and racism in south LA in the 80's but it has a darker tone.
That is for sure on our watch list
@@theperfectmixxit is certainly one of the best movies of its era.
John Singleton wrote and directed BoyzNThaHood. Ice Cube acted in it.
I love the scene showing Cube writing Friday and laughing at the line "You got knocked the f*** out" lol. Kevin Hart told a story on a talk show about how he never saw Ice Cube really laugh. Only kinda chuckle at stuff. So he was always trying so hard to try and make him laugh out loud but never could. Then one day while they were on a plane he could hear Ice Cube dying laughing about something, so he had to go and see what it was, and when he went and looked Ice Cube was watching Friday lol. So happy you guys watched this! One of my all time favorite movies!!
😂😂❤️❤️
I think that was Jonah Hill who told that story from when they worked on 21 Jump Street lol
@@GoliathWarfare It's possible. It was a while back lol
im so glad yall enjoyed this one. the authenticity of the dialogue in each scene makes the film feel so real and enjoyable. solid video guys 🙌🙌
Thanks for watching!!
Oh my gosh you two are adorable. "Lot of great things happened in '93" "Yeah, my greatest thing" MY HEART, during Straight Outta Compton too? Nah, you two are precious.
This is one of those movies I watch every few years. Its a great movie that introduces a lot of people to the very real problems a large portion of our OWN citizens deal with. There was a lot of left out information and inconsistencies from what really happened, but still great
Yeah, lots of people are saying they left out a lot of stuff
They obviously made that bye Phylicia scene after the success of Friday lol
😂😂
I wouldn’t be surprised if that scene actually did happen and inspired the Friday scene just to come back full circle to be referenced in“Straight Outta Compton”
They should've focused more on Ren as well because he was an essential part of the group after Cube left. Plus, Dre had a substance abuse problem that was never acknowledged.
I think the real MC Ren said something about that.
that's wild, thanks for the information
Well yeah dre & cube were one of the main co producers or whatever, of course they won’t reveal everything.
Ren, Yella and Arabian Prince have different accounts of what happened especially with Cube and E’s relationship and the financial side of things and the issues with Jerry Heller so….
He used to beat on Michel'le too
Eazy had that voice where u would hear and not mistake it for someone elses, u just recognize the voice as E's voice, its that unique
NWA did reunite after Easy died. It was Dre, Cube, Ren, and Snoop.
thanks for letting us know
Check out "Chin Check"
Now SNOOP DOGG is part of Death Row Records or I think he owns Death Row Records
@@Lakerfanforlife He owns it now
Sort of. It was for a tour, and Snoop was the special guest. So not actually part of the group.
The California raisins were a music group in the 80s that did commercials and were literal animated raisins 😂...look em up
Have to after watching this 😂
20:40 the Detroit show is still legendary, I grew up in Detroit and my dad was working at Joe Louis Arena that night, he knew a few of the cops and he remembers one of his cop friends telling him to stay away from the crowded areas during the show and to be in a safe area, given that my dad was a smaller guy and could’ve easily gotten trampled. But my dad is sure that his friend was warning him that some shit was gonna go down. To this day many many people say that the police fired the shots simply to cause a panic and clear the place out.
Yeah that makes sense that they would to be honest
You know that part of the movie was completely for dramatic purposes. All the group members have told the story that the letter was all that really ever happened
The scene where Eazy E gets the news is completely heartbreaking. I cried
😭😭
he fucked around and found out. It's crazy how his wife seems to accept that he has aids and probably gave her aids that he only could've gotten from 1 of those floozies he was banging all the time.
Finally so happy y’all did this 💯❤️
❤️❤️
28:20 “sug knight, i thought this was a bad dude but hes just helping people” 😂 oh just wait…. Sug knight was a real life super villain
😂😂
I was so stoked when this movie came out, growing up with their music then my daughter got into rap music so watching this movie together was an awesome experience. Thanks for reacting to it ❤❤❤
Thank you for watching!! ❤️❤️
I STILL have memories of Will telling Carlton “Even I don’t go to Compton!”
In the 80s, to battle the war on drugs, they would use those tanks to enter a suspicious crack house
Thats Wild!!
Or just anybody house they felt like, if we're being real.
@@seanyoung9014yeah they went full tyranny on places without proof
@@seanyoung9014no. They did not enter random houses for the f of it. Those were mistakes and bad information.
Crazy that guy throwing gang signs 2:54 is the one who plays RZA in the Wu-Tang series
Thanks for pointing that out! It’s always fun to see the connections between different roles actors play.
6:51 The guy in the red hat infront of Ice Cube’s character is in the Wu tang show too
Growing up in East LA in the late 90’s was wild. So much stuff we saw growing up
Ice cube and his wife are still together with their beautiful kids
such a beatiful thing
Y'all just RAN into it, okay!! 🔥🔥🔥
Found this movie a few months ago and its been my favorite ever since
I love when people react to LA culture. I love my city man.
Best reaction channel out there!
❤️❤️
I was waiting for you to react to this movie! Great video like always 😁
Thanks for watching!
Can someone get a count on the total bleeps in this video? haha good job guys, super fun as always.
A lot! 😂
It must be so bittersweet for ice cube to have watched his son play that role!
If you guys haven't yet, I recommend "End Of Watch"(2012) on the channel.
A very good movie
Yes a lot of people have requested us to watch this can’t wait to check it out
@theperfectmixx and after this movie, y'all should react to "Let's Be Cops"(2014) a very good comedy
@theperfectmixx And I personally recommend "The Grey"(2012) Underrated survival movie
Good ass movie too
@theperfectmixx its a great movie!
8:30 "He got such a funny voice" 🤣💀
I swear, I was one of the few that still jam to Eazy E back in High School in the 2010's before the movie came out
Dr Dre started AFTERMATH after leaving Death Row Records. His first album was THE FIRM with Nas, AZ & Foxy but his first Solo artist was Eminem.
He did the complication in Nov 1996, then he did the Firm in late 1997, then he did Eminem album in February 1999
They call it a batter ram. There's a song about them in a Toddy T song in the mid 80's. "Batter ram" well known in LA..
The 80s were different and here in LA it was survival of the fittest gangs and all . The jerrycurl was a big thing just like other hairstyles . Most ppl couldn’t afford to maintain a good curl so it was a status thing as well .
The California raisins was a commercial for raisins with talking maybe dancing raisins. Look it up it was huge in the 80’s.
16:16 Like father, like son.
😂😂
It's been a few years since I saw this, and man I forgot how heavy it was.😢
RIP Easy E
Ice cubes son wanted to put the "bye felicia" in the movie
That beginning with the tank was real. That's how LAPD handled the "gang problem" in LA during that time. They often tore down the wrong house.
John singleton made boyz n the hood. That was Ice cube’s first acting gig. And it’s what inspired him to make Friday later on.
Thats awesome thanks for the insight
Watching you two makes me feel so old "I heard about this/that" man I lived it!
ps Snoop Dogg fell out with Suge knight through the years, he now owns Death row records, Talk about a W.
FINALLY, been waiting for some reactors to react to this movie. Idk if its because its based on a true story of a known group and that's why big reactors don't watch it, but the movie is actually so good on its own.
Thanks for watching!
Mellverse, Mr. Video, and MJ Without Spider-Man saw it too. Shoutout to all of them for checking it out, but I can agree that more should.
While this movie is great for entertainment, theres a lot of inaccuracies that many people criticize, especially the negativity associated with Eazy E. So many things left out to portray Dre and Cube positively, and throw shade at Eazy.
Totally get what you mean! Movies can be fun, but they definitely don’t always keep it real.
One of the greatest movies of our generation. Idk if its technically considered a biopic or bio-whatever, but its easliy one of the best inside looks into some of the most interesting and foundational people involved in the evolution of american culture
I would say this movie leaves out some very relevant but negative things about Dre, like multiple _confirmed_ domestic abuse incidents with several women. But still a great movie. Glad yall did this one. Enjoying the channel as always.
Thanks for Watching! also, we get it a lot of times movies don't show the entire picture
yeah he and Cube had narrative control and some things they were like "we don't need to add that"
My favorite movie of all time. Long Live Eazy- E. N.W.A is forever be my top ten favorite rap groups. 🐐👑💯🔥🔥
Boyz n the Hood next please!
well definitely add this to the list of movies to check out
Classic
@@theperfectmixx get rich or die - 50 cent 🙏🏽
"They owe them whole new burgers" lmao she's adorable
Let’s go!!! 9 am with coffee and a great movie to watch 🔥🔥
🙌🙌Thanks for watching!!
Eazy E (Jason Mitchell) plays in Supperfly 2018
nice adding it to our watch list
Tipper Gore, Al Gore's wife, came out against rap music. She's the reason for parental advisory labels.
No Way! Thats wild.
Beginning of the karen era?
@@theperfectmixx Every type of music from black people were labeled as 'devils music' starting from jazz. Then jazz turned into (inspired) rock, which was also labeled devils music by the whites. Then rap/hip hop. Same thing. And folks are still labeling art as devils work TO THIS DAY. Even pop music from people like Doja cat LMAO. It's an endless cycle. Religion is the one thing slowing down humanity from excelling from a way higher rate unfortunately. And I'm religious
The California Raisins was a marketing gimmick in the late 80s early 90s to promote California Raisins. They were animated raisins singing I Heard It Through The Grape Vine. All I know is that every body at my high school was wearing California Raisins T Shirts.
Another good biopic I’ll suggest The New Edition Story.
Nice, we'll add it to our watch list
omg yes
The craziest scene to me was Ruthless vs Lench Mob at the new music seminar scene
Ice cube has been married for 35 years and have 4 children
that's a beautiful thing love to hear that
That tape that MC Ren took out of Eazy-E's hospital room was a demo from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony
Awww so cute you both are
❤️❤️❤️
3:18 dude named two-tone actually a Crenshaw blood so ain’t no cap in his rap
The Defiant Ones is a GREAT series about Dr Dre's coming up that you'd love! It's inspiring for real, even if it isn't a reaction video its worth checking out! Same with Jeen-Yuhs
we'll definitely add this to the list of things to check out
Yes... Tells the story of not just dre. and jimmy at interscope records but really the whole era of music at that time during the 90s.... Highly recommend watching it.
I’m a new sub love the channel
23 seconds. Nice. Perfect time to watch something while eating dinner.
Thanks for watching!!
To live during the late 80's as a teen experiencing NWA is unlike anything one can image. they changed the face of hip hop. Before them hip hop was braggadocios, what i got , black nationalism rap. NWa brought the streets to hip hop which is what now everyone includes in their lyrics. They changed the look. Long gone were track suits, gold chains and fresh look to a more hardcore look of jeans and t shirts. NWA is truly legendary. I am so glad to experience it first hand.
42:25 🏴☠ love it
You have to pay attention to Jerry and what he says. He knows the woman Eazy is with is smart, thats why he’s trying to come in between them. That’s why he brought her up before Eazy even mentioned her. He was doing the same with Ice Cube. Eazy E is Jerry Heller’s cash cow. There is no real concern, he wants to know if he has to worry about the man he’s been robbing all this time.
"he looks a little under the weather" haha...I would say he does
its so funny watching well off suburban kids react to hood shit lmfao
If yall don't know, but Snoop is played by Lakeith Stanfield from Get Out, and Atlanta
a lot of inaccuracies in this movie still entertaining though
how da hell yall ain’t know NWA like that 😭
Living under a rock
9:58 Raider Nation -4-Life 🏴☠️💯☝️
Fun fact Dre sigh 2 contract as artist and producer. Dre got outta of artist contract but not producer. So for the not next 5 years he was at deathrow records every song he produced Nun-But-G, California love basically all the hits, Eazy was still taking percentage of the revenue 😂😂and eazy said in a dis “Dre-Day is eazy pay day” he wasn’t lyin 😂😂
😂😂 Damn
Ice cube's son in this role just PERFECT
Yes, Agreed!
@theperfectmixx damn. T x for answering wasn't expecting dat xd
This movie was pretty accurate except for Eazy E going broke. That was complete bullshit. He had Bone Thugs n Harmony one of the biggest groups of all time.
It's really not that accurate at all, it was made by Dre and Cube. They made Dre look super tough and Eazy weak, Eazy never got jumped by Suge.
33:22 Ice Cube and his wife have been married for 32 years. I think they have 4 kids. His son in the movie is their oldest.
o didn't know he had three kids. Its beautiful to see how long he's been married for.
Those Burgers are from a restaurant called Fat Burger knocking that on the ground is very disrespectful, because those Burgers are super good!😋
😂😂
@@theperfectmixx😁

You could say that about suge cube any of them how do you know you weren’t there 😂

Just keep in mind, this was made by Cube, and there are always 3 sides to a story: this side, that side, and the truth.
Still at great movie though! I just wish it could have been told from an impartial viewpoint.
I hear that.
@@theperfectmixxYeah there’s a lot of conflicting and contradictory stories and narratives especially surrounding Eric’s finances and the whole Jerry Heller side of things from other members of the group and other artists and producers from Ruthless and Death Row. Cube definitely misrepresented how things went towards the end. Eric was actually doing really well but there were a lot of complications when it came to managing the financial situation and spending money developing other artists like Bone Thugs and Harmony, the scene with Eric having to deal weed in order to pay his bills is by almost all accounts fabricated and the falling out with Jerry is controversial to say the least. There’s also wide speculation that Suge paid to have Eric purposefully injected with HIV contaminated drugs because he was actually healthy by all accounts until about a week or two before his diagnosis and his T-Cells crashed insanely fast. Cube and Heller never got along and Yella was the only member that attended Eric’s funeral. Other artists have said that Heller and his lawyers were a bit shady but they never had issues with getting paid and were very grateful for the opportunities Heller provided so they didn’t even think to get their own lawyers to negotiate or evaluate their contracts
All this really happened I remember reading about this when I was in middle school
Eazy E is like Elvis Presley, Elvis did change the world with a different style of music that opened the door to everyone. Eazy E opened the door to gangsta rap and NWA, that lead to other rappers.
2:19 when you at your friend's house and he getting yelled at by his mom
