Id be confused if the person designing the S7 and s11 is the same than the other pioneer gear. I love to rant about pioneer gear being a ripoff and not up to par with competitors, but the DJM S7 and S11 seem to be made with love. Hat of to who ever designed this
Are you able to go into settings with this mixer, and adjust the cut in points with the cross fader, so that the sound is instantaneous as soon as you move the fader??
Simple; if you plug it in and it doesn't unlock Serato DJ Pro and/or Rekordbox DVS. Also note that when you guy this NEW you get a license key for Serato DJ Pro - Pitch N Time functionality. If your not getting that, don't expect those features.
Love your videos Mojaxx, i may get the s7 because i use vinyl and it is hard to find a modern mixer these days that sound good for vinyl. Do you happen to have any suggestions on other modern mixers that have phono preamps that sound clean for vinyl? appreciate your suggestion on this
Hi, im late to the party, but the s7, if you DONT scratch with the line faders, its ok. The linefaders get loose (they are soldered by one pin) and ...you know :D, it gets broken. At least the rane 70 doesnt suffer from this, but i like the workflow from pioneer.
I'm torn between this and the rane 70. In the 70 you can stack all 3 serato effects, albeit controlled equally by the one encoder. On the s7, it looks like you can only have 1 effect in operation at once? I currently have an sp1 which you can control all 3 effects with the parameters indipendently.
Thanks for the info! My question is when using the USB hub with (rane 12, LC6000, CDJs in HID mode) when doing a dj change over will the USB deck change to the new computer? Because that is a major pain having to unplug & plug the decks when going back to back with another dj..
Each channel has a switch for inputs: Laptop A, line, phono, Laptop B. So when Laptop b connects you move the channel your use to Latop B input, fade to that channel, then switch channel 1 to also be Laptop b and disconnect LaptopA.
I use Traktor and love it. There are mixers that you can use for Traktor. I think people get stuck on the "Pioneer is the industry standard".... that is for club use. How many are really DJ in the club? I understand what you say about Traktor though. Hopefully they do better by DJs. If not, oh well. Allen & Heath it is...lol
Interesting, especially at this lower price. I'd bet it sells well... If it was $999 and some Twelves were $499 each I'd probably be down for a set... Maybe Rane will make some Seven decks, with the smaller jogs on the One controller... 🤔
I thought when it said Bluetooth I was going to be able to use my Bose wireless headphones on the mixer. It would be nice if this or any mixer did that.
@@69Beats Hey SNB, I meant it like that. Normally you have equipment with MK2 MK3, 5, 5S, etc but Pioneer have these big jumps in models going in both directions creating huge gaps. Will there ever be an S1to S6 or an S8? Seemed more logical to make an S8 or S10.
S7 should def be the choice for most DJ's. Unless you're doing super creative stuff with all of the features of the s11, save $600 and grab an S7. (My personal opinion) Will it come with cool CV though? That's the important question.
Because S10 is a trademark of Chevrolet. ;) Realistically, it would be positioned above the S9 as its successor, but as the name was taken, Pioneer DJ went with S7 instead. But yeah, I'd pick it over the S11 as well!

Ever heard of the Chevrolet S10? It's a trademarked name, Pioneer DJ can't use it. ;). But yes, effectively that's where it would be placed in the lineup.
Some might think so based on a couple of features alone, but this has slightly better audio, a bunch of new tricks for the pads, out-of-the-box support for rekordbox, plus it's $100 cheaper. I'd consider this to be better value in more ways.

@@fedscame Check it - the S7 has split pad modes, the S9 does not. And the S9 does *not* work out-of-the-box with rekordbox, it requires the Core (or Creative) plan subscription or use of another hardware-unlock device. That’s the idea, yes.

i just saw a future where all DJ mixers have bluetooth inputs, and every clubber knows it's possible for you to play a song from their phone
In my experience they’ve already thought that, for years. Funniest one is when they hand you their own aux cable...

Yes, it has instant doubles and has "Gate Cue" which for me is like Silent Cue in steroids.
@@djpho you can also use Loop MIDI 2's Cut function as a silent cue option as well.

Great with DVS and vinyl with my limited use, just remember that that vinyl limits you to a Phono input so you only get Beat FX and no Pad FX.

Regarding setting the loop size from serato instead of a default 4 beat loop, that was possible on the s9 too
The default is Serato style. You can switch it to S9 style. You have options for either configuration.
