Normally, his smile lit up a room like a shining warm sun, but this time, the light was as cold as the void. Konrad had seen the Nighthaunters grin reflected in the eyes of its victim, but that thing had never managed to look as horrifying or as cruel as his beautiful brother. He tried to back away as the angel leaned down, but the coffin he was trapped in prevented it. He could only listen. Listen and scream as he slid out into the void.'

What scared konrad so much was that the angel could forgive him and ask him to continue in his ways and ask him to redeem himself, somthing konrad thought impossible because of his guilt he believed he should die or his life to be impossible then to continue his mission. Because he didn't believe in himself and gave up. And when the angel gave him a second chance his certainty of the universe went out the window and he gives up again to let himself die to an assassin. That's the tragedy of Konrad

It was gmans willpower that carried him to fight like a demon aganst his enemys, his willpower and common sense that made him near incorruptible to chaos, and his willpower being what keeps him remotely sane.
Honestly part of me wonders if guilaman might unlock his psychic powers more as each primarch,no matter what had power similar to perhaps sanguinus or curze in that he has a form of presience or the ability to process information and think faster then most primarchs,or perhaps gaining new powers through the emporors sword, such as cleansing chaos corruption or firing blasts of holy fire

Would the heresy be any different or at least nonlethally redeem a traitor primarch, if Sanguinius and Conrad somehow learned about each other's ability to see the future beforehand, have a heart-to-heart about it, and have Kurze actually escorted back to Terra?

    • @zavodszkiabel7919

Any of the the traitor primarchs turning loyal would be a huge blow to horus. But if Curze and his batlings stayed loyal the Ultramarines would be in a better shape, Lion possibly arrives on Terra in time, Vulkan is in a better shape, Conrad can bleed the supply lines of the heretics with his hit and run tactics but the biggest blow would have been Perturabo staying loyal, mans was hard carrying the heresy.
If he somehow joined powers with Dorn the traitors would've died before they broke the gates of the imperial palace.

My headcanon is that the weird part where Curze was talking to a flesh sculpture on Tsalguasa was in fact a manifestation of the Emperor's will, and Sanguinius intentionally threw Curze out of the airlock believing that Curze deserved one last meeting with the Emperor, not as a prisoner but as a son.

@@mysterylovescompany2657 exactly, guilliman was the only one who was both human enough and intelligent enough to help kurze, Sanguinius didn't really know what to do with kurze even if he wanted to, corvus was too similar to kurze, the lion is an asshole and leeman would either not care or he'd approach the situation in the space wolf viking way of fist bumps and alcohol, which would just turn kurze off.

There a re two level on this.
Conrad Curze had prophetic vision of the emperor sending an assassin to kill him. Convinced it was his fate to die that way, he did all those horrible things, killing billions of people, out of vengeance against his destined death (dude had issue)
Sanguinius, who also has the ability to foresee the future, reveal to him he had a prophetic vision of his own, where the emperor doesnt kill him that way, but forgive him instead. And just like that, he proves Conrad Curze entire philosphy of life wrong. Fate doesnt exist, we shape it with our choices, and the future Conrad Curze foresaw was the one he was building for himself by being an angsty serial killer.
But just because Sanguinius can see a futur where Conrad Curze is forgiven does not necessarily means he wants that future to happens. Again, Curze has killied billions and people and betrayed humanity. Dad wants to forgive him? Cool, but i dont, you dont deserve this fate.
And so he space him, destroying that hope of forgiveness for Konrad.

We know he is wrong as fate can be changed hell there is a god all about changing fate lol. It's not easy but it's possible and curze just could not accept that fact and dug his own grave.
