      Hello Gary, it's a bit like metal detecting on the beach in some ways and understanding about layers. There are some places where you can get permits etc to gold pan and other places seem to be well know for panning but no permits are appear to needed.

    What a great video. You've made my day! I've been watching Gold Divers and Gold Rush ever since lockdown and wondered to myself "I wonder if there is gold in the UK" :-) I'd love to try one day. I expect there isn't much on the South coast though!

    It's a question I've wondered for so long. Well done for getting out there and doing it. Shame that where I live in the SE the chances of me finding gold are as likely as me winning the lottery.

    0.4g of gold is worth £30 on the market. 8hr day, plus say £10 costs equates to roughly £2.50 an hour (after £10 costs), for labour intensive back-breaking work in a very cold environment. A labour of love, and an interest to be outdoors. But hey, he might get lucky and find a pocket of gold, but unlikely in the UK. Nice video - and best of luck MrDazP1

    • @MrDazP1adv3ntures
      @MrDazP1adv3ntures  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the comments Charles. some people reckon Scottish gold is going at £150 / g in various markets and Welsh up to £100 /g but to be honest neither interest me in the slightest. Having spent my time at work all week I find the time spent at the river to be priceless. There is some excellent gold to found in the UK, Iv'e seen it, and hopefully one day I might just find that decent elusive piece. Cheers once again buddy

    Great video. How do u get sort out legal side of this ? Because obviously all the gold belongs to Queen 😭. There is literally no, licence you can apply for doing rockhouding/ gold mining.
    So basically it's kinda illegal...

    • @MrDazP1adv3ntures
      @MrDazP1adv3ntures  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This location no longer allows gold panning, however you can get a licence or a permit to go to places in Scotland such as Leadhills, Wanlockhead and Baile an Or.

      They reckon the gold is worth £100 / g And others may say 3 times as much. I just love it as a hobby and it's a great subject to film. For me it's a great way to forget about a tough week at work . By the way, never take up cycling as a hobby . It will drain your pocket of money just as quick as you have earned it. The Gold is secondary, Shiney and Nice when you find it, but nothing is more enjoyable than what you see over the rim of the pan !
    "Your small part is Absolutely Stunning" ! 😳
    I have to ask, is the property you have available Private, Public or Government Claimed as our BLM lands are in the U.S. ? How do you go about accessing where you prospect or establishing a claim ?

    Here's a hint that I learned from my old tiney partner. Put a layer of black plastic garbage can liner in the bottom of the box then a layer of burlap on top of that they your normal carpet, The fines will work their way under the carpet with black sand and the burlap will trap it And at the end of the season you can burn the burlap and pan the ashes.

    Have you had to get permission to look for gold there?

    • @MrDazP1adv3ntures

      Hello 46Minky, I have never prospected with any permission here as it has always appeared to have been accepted as a place for hobbyists and enthusiasts to try their luck at this great pastime. Sadly the agencies have collaborated to ban panning over recent times and don't seem to want to offer permits to the gold panning fraternity who have frequented this fantastic place for many many years...

      @@MrDazP1adv3ntures thank you i live near a brook and would love to give it a try. Can i ask what is the improtance of black sand ?

      @@46minky Hello 46 Minky, Black sand is a relatively heavy blend of material that will move along the course of a river where other heavy materials will go as well. Lead and Iron are other indicators that you are on the right line. Gold is heavy too and is often found with other heavies along these lines, they call them pay streaks if you find a good line .

      Dredging is not permitted but it does go on apparently.

      @@MrDazP1adv3ntures that’s sad. The greenies don’t like high banking in Australia because of all the holes it leaves, but after every flood it returns to normal much like beach sand

      Yes that's the thing with rivers, they can change things for the better or for the worse depending on how angry they become in big flood.
