    As a nurse, I LOVE seeing my patients and families out in the community. Years ago I was a nurse at The Children’s Hospital, Boston. I had taken care of this sweet baby after she had open heart surgery. 1 year later, I’m in Porter Square, going into a pub and I heard my name. It was the mum with the little girl. Both looked amazing. I wish you all the best and much love from SW France.

      Is it true that the glioblastoma survival rate after 5 years is only 7%. ?. A survivor on youtube named Pablo Kelly is alive 11 years after his diagnosis . He refused chemo , in favour of ketogenic metabolic therapy. He is an anomoly .Have you heard of this before ?.

    Pleased to hear you had a good MRI result, sending best wishes Eireann.

      I'd agree in general, but there are also weird people on social media, faking stuff. The bad thing with anything cancer is that people have some pre-conceived images in their head of what a cancer patient should look like. If people think you look "healthy" (whatever that means), they doubt your story. If you look sick, you can bullshit them easily.

    • @YvieT81
      @YvieT81 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      @rebel4466 honestly I literally know someone who made it up... She had breast cancer once and then claimed it had returned and she was going to die, which eventually turned out to be a lie. Totally insane! But those cases are very, very rare! Normally sane people do NOT make this kind of stuff up and accusing someone of lying simply because you can't see the scar tissue is equally insane!

    • @andreae.
      @andreae. 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

      Same. I will never forget when a few years ago a beauty TH-camr got diagnosed with terminal brain cancer (Samantha Jaelle), and a couple of days before she passed some people were still accusing her of being a scammer who just wanted a free holiday. Unbelievable. Some people have no empathy...

    • @YvieT81
      @YvieT81 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      @andreae. I think I saw that not long ago.. Was she a young girl? Even after she died I saw trolls spitting nasty things on her page. Can't believe how sick some people can be!

    • @mariposavioleta9007
      @mariposavioleta9007 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I agree with you but sadly this is a reality for many who get sick either cancer or chronic illnesses or disabilities. I've gone through it for many years and even though it's hard can see that with all the scammers out there that many are skeptical.

    Hi! Physio student here! You should look up the path of the trigeminal nerve as a couple of it's branches run close to where your scar is. It could have become more sensitized from surgery, and nerves if damaged regenerate very slowly. Also it makes sense if it's only on one side of your face from the middle as that's the path of the nerve!

    I've also had beers with a neurosurgeon before. But it wasn't one that treated me. It was the dad of a close friend of mine. Kinda funny that she had her brain tumor removal by someone else. It feels like these highly intelligent professionals aren't human anymore, but the guy was/is very down to earth. After all he has seen in all the stages of his medical career, it felt like he was very "normal". Like he didn't really care about what others might think or what would happen in the grand scheme of things. He was just himself. Not trying to impress anyone, not trying to fool anyone or be seen as someone that he isn't. That's rare in people today.

    I can't express to you in words how happy I am to hear from you! I was so worried about you. I don't really use Instagram because I am blind and the Instagram app is not the most user-friendly for blind people, since it mostly has to do with photos. When I saw this just now I was genuinely relieved. I'm sending you a big hug. I don't understand how or what kind of twisted brains people have to accuse you of lying about what you have been through, I don't understand how anyone would do that I think your encounter with your doctor at the Bar is super cool and he sounds Like a guardian angel in a way. If you can, please keep us posted. I will try and see if I can follow you on Instagram but as I said I have trouble with that app because the screen reader doesn't make a lot of sense when you are on the app. Big hugs

    Hi there! I got diagnosed with a low grade glioma in March (at age 35) out of the blue and had surgery a couple weeks later to have it removed. I'm following up with an MRI every 3 months. My first MRI since surgery came out good, and I'm due for my next one in September. A friend of mine told me about your channel and what you're going through. I just want to send lots of hugs and love and healing thoughts to you in your recovery. -Dave

    I am so happy to hear from you again, Eireann! And, I am thrilled to know that you are doing well. Just want to say that like you I am a cancer survivor for almost 3 years now. What I am very thankful for now is the Canadian Healthcare system. Not only did I get a good oncologist in one of the best cancer hospitals in the world (Princess Margaret Hospital), but also the no worry on my dozens of blood tests, xrays, MRI, scans, shots, hospital supplies, nurse visits at home, regular surgeon check-ups and hospital stays. We tend to overlook this part sometimes, but I know I will always be appreciative especially when I am only paying for my parking fee at the hospital or clinic for my check-ups! On top of that, I will be monitored for the next 7 years of my life every 4 months with no money up front to pay! The simple thought of not paying any thing to my doctors, the hospital/clinic, and my numerous tests along the way will help me focus on my recovery. Aside from cancer remission, the best feeling is leaving the hospital and clinics without any fees to pay! Yes, you just say thank you and leave OUT THE DOOR! No long list of itemized fees to go over to check and pay first before being allowed to go home! THANK YOU, CANADA! ♥All the best to you Eireann, and take care! I am glad that you got your Canadian Health Card that entitled you to free healthcare here in Canada because we know how astronomical healtcare bills are for non-Canadians. PS: Your oncologist is really cool!

I know that this has nothing to do with your health and life challenges, and I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but I'm just going to say the obvious - you are absolutely drop-dead gorgeous. The sharp sensation in your forehead like glass/needles is likely nerve damage which will hopefully improve over the next few months to years and become a little bit more bearable with contact🤞🏻try and touch the area as much as possible as it usually helps in the long run.
    We get on well with my daughter's neurosurgeon too, he is like family, his office even has pictures up that my LO has done for him and his latest gift from her was a clay brain she made though he couldnt decide whether he wanted to keep it at work or take it home 😂

This may sound weird, but I can't stop looking at your perfect smile and teeth. Ha! Anyway, my wife and 2 kids are traveling from the US to Ireland in like 9 days. So I now know how to use the word "craic" , "lovely" and "grand". I always wanted to see where my family was from, which is Aughnicliffe and Fostra. So we are flying in to Dublin, heading down to Kinsale, over to Dingle (I think I'll love there), Galway, then west of Sligo, then Roscommon (near where my O'Connor and Ward family lived 120 years ago), then back to Dublin and fly out the following day. Eireann, about the sensitivity/ sensation in your eyebrows and forehead… I’ve had 4 craniotomies… incisions going from one ear to the other, over the top of my head and the last one I had was in 2016 and the super sharp feeling when areas are touched is much more dull now than for probably the first two years. It’s definitely hard to say how much better one will get as they typically say whatever things you like around six months post op is howis how they will stay. But mine change for two years at least. I was also told the best thing to do is to be touching those areas as that will help desensitize them. I also had a bizarre thing that I still have, I will feel an itch on my head and scratch where I think the itch is but feel the scratching elsewhere on my head!!! it is a bizarre feeling, and that is still there!

    Glad to hear you can breathe normally now. Your medical team should have fixed that much quicker. I've watched all of your episodes. You are a natural at speaking in front of a camera. Very sorry you are struggling with brain tumours. I have a friend who has been dealing with brain cancer for 2 years. The specifics of her case are very different from yours. But there is alot in common too, such as dealing with medications, doctors not returning your calls, and visits to doctors that seemed silly after the fact! It's a good idea to go back to your home country and assemble a team of doctors there. We have found that dealing with doctors, medications, and hospitals gets easier with time. Hope you keep posting.

    No need to ever apologize, you post when you feel up to it.
    Happy that you had some good scans and that's interesting, and fun, that you met your doc and had a drink together 🙂
    I'm sure you've heard this a million times so please let me be the million and one time that you've heard it, try to ignore anyone who says you are lying, or anyone who is ever rude to you.
    Good luck moving ahead, I think you're going to do great.
    btw, I've never looked or paid attention to your brows until you said 'don't look' ... lol

    Your sharing is so sweet! Someone in my advocacy and caregiving has been dealing with a similar situation to yours. It is so good to get input and experiences from others in the same boat. Take care of yourself, and share only what you wish to--it's your choice, and you are so kind in how you share.

    Dear Éireann, it's so good to see you post again. I think a lot of us were getting really worried about you. It does sound like good news about the MRI and your breathing getting back to normal. You've obviously got a very good relationship with your neurosurgeon as well and how nice of him to get all your drinks after your chance encounter in the bar! It's a pity you can't take him back with you to Ireland. It's understandable if you don't feel like posting about everything that's going on in your life. We have no right to know these details yet I suppose we do want to know, simply because we care so much about you now. I would love to emulate your neurosurgeon and give you a hug and Devin too! You're both amazing people and you clearly have such a strong bond between you which will give you both so much strength in the weeks and months ahead. Also remember how much love and support you have got on here. I'm appalled that you're still getting trolled and disbelieved by a small handful of idiots. Take no notice of them, if you can, they are not worth a moment of your time. With love and best wishes, Rob (and daughter Soph) in North Wales xx

    Also what an amazing experience you got to have with your surgeon. What a nice guy. ❤
    Also totally understand that there are things you would rather not share. It's your life, you don't owe us anything! We are just here to support and love on you because we can see you are special and we care.

    Thanks for posting this update. I kept checking... Like most folks who watch your videos, I wish you 100% healthy. Scammers are out there, but it is obvious that you are not one of them. I'm glad for the good news about your recent MRI.

    Great to see you and to hear you had a positive MRI! Girl, your hair grows faster than my hair does in 10 years time lol! The people who accuse you of lying are not worth your time. Internet trolls with no life of their own! But well, I'm not on Insta a lot (Facebook generation I suppose haha), but I should start following you there now!

    ❤Hope things continue to go well -- even though you are keeping some things to yourself (which is a healthy to wait until you feel ready).
    I'd like to suggest that maybe you should consider talking to a physical therapist about the pain you feel on your face. I have CRPS which is a neurological type of pain condition that causes a type burning, tingling pain that may be similar to yours. The treatment is to take different types of textures and apply them to the area, hopefully, desensitizing and calming the nerves. I'm not a doctor, but this what I was given to do. 💞🙏🏼🥰

    You look amazing and in great form (for the camera anyway 😊) it's great news that your may scans were good - i can relate to the anxiety of the MRI and the wait for results, its petrifying. Anyway looking forward to your next update with more good news I hope. Love n prayers from the Emerald ❤🇮🇪

    Hey, I’m just catching up with your videos and I have to tell you- you look so good and so happy!! I love that for you!
    Also, the face pain. Does it feel like little electric shocks? It sounds a lot like trigeminal neuralgia. It’s quite painful (known to be one of the most painful conditions) I have it, but I haven’t had any symptoms since starting on amitriptyline. When I did have symptoms I was miserable. I had to tie my hair back because even my hair brushing against my face would take my breath away. Even the wind hurt. I started taking the amitriptyline 10 yrs ago and I’m not taking any chances, I still take it today. I would consider looking into it, because regular pain medications just won’t work if it’s nerve pain. Good luck, you look beautiful and I wish for nothing but love and happiness to come. ❤️
