I would find a computer shop in town and ask if they can read your scans using different software available to them and then maybe they can re-format the scans to be readable by software used in Ireland. Also you can refer to the media the scans are on as a "Thumb-drive" or "USB Stick" . So glad you made it safe and sound and are enjoying Ireland and all it has to offer. XOXO
I would suggest trying to get the Canadian Drs to video call your new doctor so they can at least show the results. Sorry you even have to deal with that in 2024. Where's the technology? God bless
@@diaryofeireann For a non-emergency case, first step is always getting the patient consent. Doctors cannot simply call each other and discuss cases and share files without first getting a consult request, which is usually supported by an imaging or operation report, which the patient must consent to sending or request to be delivered to them. This is why the specialist requires that you produce these documents (or authorize that hospital sends them). I've had to do this many times.
We were in Dublin for a few days in November 2023 for unfortunate reasons. My sister was on vacation there and had a brain aneurysm. We flew over from the States to see her and say our goodbyes. I'd like to go back for positive reasons someday. She was an organ donor so somewhere in Ireland there are people walking around with American organs.
Good for you two. When my wife got cancer, we were living in Shenzhen China. Even though we were getting good medical care in Hong Kong, we moved back home to Canada (British Columbia) to be close to family and it was great. I’m sure you’ll find the same thing. Good luck.
Eireann, you and my Mom have the same birthday (May 19)! She was born in Glasgow Scotland but grew up in Chelmsford England. She just turned 95, and has lived in Texas for over 70 years. Welcome back to Ireland... Happy Birthday... And I hope you continue to heal and get better.
Glad that you and your pets made it safely to Ireland. I was so stressed out when I moved with my cats from Washington DC back home to Miami. But they were very good boys on the plane.
I am so happy to hear you have come home to Ireland with your beloved Devin after your medical ordeal ❤❤❤ To be near your family and back in familiar territory must be so reassuring...😇...I hope and pray that you will get the best medical care in Ireland as you had a really challenging time in Canada with all the waiting etc. May this be the start of a new chapter in your life, one which sings of health, joy and laughter 💗 in Jesus' Name may your life with Devin be long and happy dear Eireann 🙏🏻❤️🔥🤝🏻
You two are absolutely beautiful ❤Eireann you are just the sweetest soul, so so excited when I saw you had a surprise party, how amazing. You are seemingly able to navigate all the health issues calmly and with so much gratitude. What a gorgeous person you are, I am excited to see you settle back home ( my family are all from Southern Ireland 🇮🇪) and enjoy the summer whilst also getting all the help and medical care you need xxx
I’m so jealous! Ireland is my absolute favorite place in the whole entire world, I would live there if I could 😭 you also look like a real life Disney princess 🥹
Thats FANTASTIC news you are back home in Ireland again, I am so happy for you both, and you are absolutely glowing, thanks so much for sharing the really wonderful update Eireann and sending you both lots of love and health and happiness from Belfast XXXX
It's good to see you looking well, and both of you so happy. Congratulations on your birthday. Hopefully you get the information off the drive. It may be encrypted. Wish you the best.
So happy for the two (four-wee 😀 dog and bun), of you! I’m not surprised at all to see the number of friends and family that you both have. Welcome back to Ireland kids! 🎉🙂
I visited Ireland a few years ago, loved it. Food was amazing….farm to table. Climbed St. Patrick mountain….pubs, everyone sings. Hope to be able to go back someday. Continued blessings for your health. Stay positive….youre truly in the most beautiful place….
Ah, the fresh Irish air! That'll definitely make you feel so much better :) Congratulations on moving back home, and at the same time thank you to Devon for sacrificing his homeland this time around. As you say, you'll be back in Canada again one day :) Regarding the thumb drive, if all the information is online, don't they have portals at the hospitals over in Canada? I live in the States and every medical facility I've been to, once you're a patient, you get access to a portal which keeps all copies of your records, visits, test results and even scan images, I'd assume, and you can view them from home. I understand there's going to be a security hurdle to get over, but if everything is computerized on the Canada side, it would seem relatively straightforward to me - who knows nothing LOL - that the info could be emailed or transferred digitally somehow from one medical facility to another. I hope you get it all sorted out. If nothing else, tell your new doc to watch your prior videos! You've covered it pretty substantially on here LOL. Best of luck on your new and exciting journey. You're a beautiful couple xx
I am watching this and just had to pause the video to scream: "I LOVE IRELAND!!!!" It is SO underrated!! I only buy Irish butter and literally take bites out of it!! LOL smearing it is not enough! You have to EAT the stuff!! Ireland is MAGIC! Visited in 2012 and have been spellbound since! Can't wait to go back! So so happy for you both that you made it and enjoying life!! YES!!! You two just made my day!! Love hearing from you, thank you for sharing. You are both gems 💎
Welcome home! Your happiness is palpable and you've so earned the right to it after all you've been through. You look amazing! Devan is so lovely and handsome too. I wish great joy to you both.
Eirann in the UK all mri scans can be sent between any clinic by a special imaging communication system for electronic transfer. I would be surprised if any hospital in Canada could not do the same to a hospital in Ireland. Also I have always asked for my brain mri and all other mri scans on cd disc to take away from hospital. They are moving away from this in some places now and only sending images by email but that is harder to open and view that just loading a disc which already has the imaging software on it to launch the images within the software like Dicom etc
Thanks for telling us your birthday. I love knowing people's birthdays. Also I know someone with the same birthday already. I love it when people's birthdays accumulate. Belated congratulations, also 🫶🏻❤️🫶🏻❤️🫶🏻 🍀💚💚💚💚🍀
My daughter, who is American, will be in Cooraclare on her birthday, June 16th. Her boyfriend's family is Irish, so they will spending her birthday week there. She will be 27 also. Congratulations on your move.
What a beautiful couple you two are! So glad you’re home in Ireland. Praying for you to get the best team of doctors to treat you. Happy Belated Birthday!🤗🙏🏻
I am currently in UAE looking for a job, I left Ireland at the start of May and I miss my family, my home, and the countryside so much! I'm from cork, and I'm sure now I'll appreciate it so much more when i go back❤ go neirí an t-ádh libh😊
Yeah long distance is brutal.. I've been separated from my wife for almost 4 years due to covid and other complications.. it's about to end but it has been bruuuutal. So happy you guys are back together again and enjoying life.
OMG!! YAAY!! You DID IT!! Congratulations 🎊🎈🎉 I’m so proud of you honey-to think I was just across the lake in Rochester, NY. My name is Siobhan-and I’ve never been to Ireland. Alas… I’ll live vicariously through Devon. 🥰💝💝💝
You two are such a cute couple together. I hope that the medical records make it and that you can settle in quickly. It is hard moving countries you are always leaving loved ones behind. Best wishes with your new adventures.
You guys are such an adorable couple. I once had a similar problem retrieving imaging off a storage device I got from the veterinarian. It might be because the software that produced the image is proprietary and it is saved in a format that ur computer software does not recognize. Hence, you would need to use it on a device with that specific medical software or somthing comparable.
Hello from southern California🌴 So happy you all made it safely to 🇮🇪 Ireland. Glad you get to spend time with your family. Such a beautiful place. I learned how to drive on a stick shift/manual..at 15 1/2 yrs. old. Good times!😁So fun learning how to drive. Lots of love & blessings to you 💚💚💚
I am so happy for you both! I have visited Ireland (although many years ago, now) and it is surely one of my absolute fav places, the people, the nature, the food, and everything is just so green and lovely! I see you've got some good tips on what to do about your medical records/images, best of luck Éireann! All the Best from 🇸🇪
So happy you are home. My dream is to get to Ireland one of these days. My sister lived there for a year and absolutely loved it. PS: I drive a manual and I’m Canadian. Lol You gotta learn Devin! 😆
So happy for you guys, glad you're home with your family. You are a lovely couple and wish you all the best. Ps Ireland is my dream trip. My family is from Newfoundland with Irish Heritage.
You two remind me of me and my partner. 😂😂 That bickering - it's exactly the same. We live in the Netherlands, he's Dutch and I am a Kiwi. We've had that SAME conversation about the right and 'wrong' side of the road, must be a common theme haha 😂😂 but you're on point, there's always one of you in an international relationship that's sacrificing. In my case, it's obviously me doing the sacrificing. Welcome back to Europe! Ireland is beautiful! My Dad has Irish citizenship and wants to move to Ireland since he's never been. I have visited and LOVED it. Ireland is fab for beaches and varied.
I met my now ex-husband online. He's American and I'm Swedish. He lived in Louisiana. I moved to him as he never could consider himself living in a Scandinavian culture (American to the bone). Sadly, it made me extremely miserable living there. Missing my family, my culture, the social security I felt in my country and the NATURE. The way of life is so different between the two places. He couldn't move (even outside his state) because it would mean he would lose his retirement money. So we ended up getting divorced. We're on great terms still and I will likely always consider him being one of my best friends. We were together for about 10.5 years and married 5.5. Long distance sucks, but it strengthens your bond. Being together after is also rarely 100% smooth sailing! I know your struggle and I hope you both will thrive in Ireland. I'd love to go there one day :)
So happy to hear you are home (even if its only for the three years!) Welcome both of you and hope you get the 'jump sticks' sorted ASAP. Loads of love n prayers ❤
Much love to you both! I miss the UK but don’t think I’ll ever leave Canada. Never say never though. I hope your continued consultations go well and I look forward to seeing your recovery! All the best from the west coast ❤️🇨🇦
I wish you the best of luck finding yer own accommodation here in Ireland. The housing crisis is something else at the moment! Hopefully you don’t mind living with family for a while.
You're a beautiful couple. You're love for another shows so much. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think you're glowing since being back in Ireland. You seem so happy and relieved. Nothing like coming home. Few years back I moved back home and as soon I knew it's over and I pulled up to my town it felt like I could breath again. Thanks for keeping us updated. ❤
So good that you're back home, I know how long you have been waiting for this. Devon, hang in there, you will get used to it and it will feel like home soon. My husband and I had similar dynamics because we also started out in a long distance relationship until we got together And moved together and that one person is always away from home. Still, I hope you figure out all the scans, and are able to access your health records. That is really odd that they are not readable, since there should be no problem loading things from a thumb drive. Still, I hope you can solve it soon. Thinking of you lots and sending lots of love.
Welcome back! I'm a Canadian who moved to Ireland 15 years ago. I laughed at everyone looking at him when they hear the accent. I definitely went through a slightly tough stage about 6 months in where it wore on me to always be different and noticeable, so be gentle with yourself if that happens to you! It passed and now I'm as integrated as possible. I'll always be a blow-in (especiallysonce we moved "back home" away from Galway to a rural spot), but people are so kind and interested and ove just embraced the good side of being "exotic" lol. Wishing you both the best happiness and health as you settle in, enjoy the mountains and the butter and all the little joys of this lovely place. x
I’m with Devon re driving automatic vehicles, but sorry, it is you (Canadians and Americans) who drive on the ‘wrong side’. 😊. I have visited Ireland once … it is beautiful!
Welcome back! 💚 It’s so clear how in love you both are based on this video alone & the sacrifices you have made for each other ❤ And nothing like a toasted soda & loads of butter when landing home!
I’m surprised Irish butter wasn’t sold in Canada. The butter is better in Ireland because the cows are so happy and they chill on lovely green pastures and without smog and a zillion cars ruining their vibe. Irish ☘️ ice cream was my favorite and I ate bags of carmels. I thought you lived in Donegal. 3 hours from Dublin would be towards Waterford or am I way off? I cried when you walked into your room party. 🎈 How wonderful to be surrounded by 140 people who love and missed you. Cheers!
I’ve been following you since the beginning of your health issues. I felt so bad for you because I also had to fight the health care system in Toronto to get my diagnosis of MS, which took months. The unknown was so frightening and I too was just so happy to get a diagnosis. I’m thrilled that you’ve done so well, and that you’re back home with family, and engaged, congratulations! I wanted to comment because you mention in this video that your bday is May 19th and so is mine! Happy belated birthday! I’m just a lot older, but I was only 24 when I got sick, so I also understand being young and finding out you have a serious illness. Twenty years later now and I still remember vividly how scary it all was. Try to stay positive, enjoy being home, and choose to live in happiness everyday, but never feel bad about having a bad day. It’s healthy to mourn your young healthy body, just don’t let the stress of your unknown future health, take control over your happiness. Take it day by day and don’t sweat the small stuff. Take care of yourself 💜☘️
If the Drs in Canada have given you the files on a USB drive/stick you may need to ask them what file format they used. The NHS doesn't always use the most up to date operating systems and thus software sadly but if yr Drs in Canada know what system they are using where you are they should be able to send it in a form that is actually compatible, they should be able to do that securely. The idea of a video chat that someone suggested is great though it might be tricky with the different timezones and tbh yr Dr over here would probably still want to see yr imaging scans for themselves. Take care and apols for the waffley post❤
So happy for you -- you both look very happy and relaxed. I visited Ireland in '93 -- and I agree it is beautiful! I'd love to go back. Hope you find a way to get your med records read. I thought Ireland had so many tech types -- maybe there's a way for the Canadians to redo the records in another form/language? Hope so, Blessings sent your way!
So happy you moved HOME ... Ireland is beautiful and my grandparents were born there. they moved to Newfoundland and that is where there is a lot of Irish descendants. I had the red hair too, now white.. lol. You are so beautiful!!!! I wish you and Devin the best of luck in your health and getting everything settled. 😍
Congratulations on your move back home. I’m so happy for you all. Your fur babies are absolutely beautiful ❤❤❤ I’m sending you all so much love always xxx
What a lovely couple. Health and happiness to you and how wonderful you are in Ireland. I am across the water in the Netherlands. Lots of love❤️
Thank you so so much 🥰 I would love to visit your country it looks BEAUTIFUL over there!!
Same! 🇳🇱 Would love to visit Ireland at least once!
Get ahold of the surgeon friend and ask him if he can get your records on paper and send it all to you. I bet he can help.
Every colour of green God tried out first in Ireland 🇮🇪
Awesome that you all are in Ireland again! 💚💚💚💚💚💚
I love that lol 💚 Thank you 😊
Awe thats beautiful
I think people's necks are snapping just because they hear his beautiful DEEP voice. 😊

Wishing you both the best happiness and health as you settle in, enjoy the mountains and the butter and all the little joys of this lovely place. x
We shall miss you in Canada . Hopefully the healthcare in Ireland is equal or better than Canada 🇨🇦!!! Best of luck☘️
Immigrating the way the world Needs to see! This is so much work, such an example and beautiful!❤!
thank you so much 🥰
If only others in this world put in so much Work & Effort going from one country to another!!! We would see more Peace world wide. Nothing is FREE.
Wishing you both the very best as you start this new chapter of your lives together 🍀
I’m with Devon re driving automatic vehicles, but sorry, it is you (Canadians and Americans) who drive on the ‘wrong side’. 😊. I have visited Ireland once … it is beautiful!
Welcome back! 💚 It’s so clear how in love you both are based on this video alone & the sacrifices you have made for each other ❤
And nothing like a toasted soda & loads of butter when landing home!
Cheers!
So cute how your accents are both a mix of Canadian and Irish 🫶🏼
It is wonderful to see you both so happy! ☘️ 🇮🇪 Much love to Teddy from Bosse ❤️🐾
yay!!! so happy for you both! I hope you're having a wonderful time being back in Ireland!
Irish butter is the best because its grass fed:) Im so glad you are home.
Is it different from the Kerrygold butter we get here in America ?
I think it’s the “ Marilyn Monroe building.
It’s at hurontario and Burnhamthorpe.
Sending health and healing v es to you both. 🙏
I love how you call your rabbit the wee bun ❤
