At its core, the concept of making space in Overwatch is the idea of zoning out the enemy and establishing pseudo areas of control for your team. This effect can be accomplished with a myriad of heroes to help advance your team towards victory.
When done correctly you can control the tempo of the game and force your enemy to make disadvantageous desperation plays in an attempt to break the zoning pressure exerted by your team whether it be escorting a payload to defending chokes on select maps.
