It all makes sense now. Back in development, the dev's were like "we've been putting off making a hitbox for Zen." And papa Jeff was like "meh, just give him Roadhog's hitbox. Saves US time:)"
Thank you, I consider this the biggest work in the community, just to understand and improve. Would be nice to see projectiles size of different heroes
Wow, just wow. Thanks KarQ for this upload and visual data representation. Also, big kudos and shout out to Plus or Minus for the renders. Possibly the most informative video I've seen in terms of OW. I never did fully understand how the boxes actually worked in game, in relation to the models, I mean. Well, I mean, I had plenty guesses. But never fully understood, like how some can be so much harder to target and hit, and others really easy. This representation makes it so much more understandable now. I can see now how on many characters I'll get hit by a headshot, and not really understand WHY, when from "MY" perspective it would look like the shot, sometimes whiffs, or misses completely. It makes more sense now, seeing it THIS way. I can see easier now, that they may not have got my head "Directly", but where able to get the area of the box itself, and got warranted as a direct hit. I never would have guessed the boxes themselves had so much area to them. LOL Kudos for that, now when there is talk of the hit boxes, I have a much better idea and clarity of what is meant. Like some heroes to protect their heads from others, I have a better understanding of what is meant. I can see the difference in this, as compared to say hit-boxes that are the same exact shape & size and meshed to the actual model. Also, with how much free space to determine whether a hit or miss. And how shots can affect, so long as the box itself is hit, even though the shot may not be 100% pin-point accurate. I guess I just had always had a sort of pre-wired notion that the shot had to be spot on pin-point accurate directly to the head for it to count. And not gunna lie, for as fast paced as OW is most times, is incredibly difficult [at least for me anyway] to get those direct spot on shots. While forgetting there may be some give due to hit-box size. [I wonder how many shots I've made in game that actually got registered as a hit, when from p.o.v/perspective I felt sure were complete and total whiffs... lol the deep heavy sighs of frustration when you miss on a sniper class, LOL the frustration XD.] But, yes, this gives a much better level of understand to how a lot of it works in relation to the boxes. You gave a good clear description of each one, made it much easier to understand what I'm dealing with. Plus or Minus did a great job, for the visual representation and reference. It gives a much better view, visually, of how accuracy is determined. At least in terms of how close determines an actually hit, and far off for it to count as a miss. Funny, cause way back when I first learned or heard of hit-boxes in games, I initially thought, "What, an invisible box shape around my head? How is THAT a thing?" LOL xD Of course these days, I know much better now, like sometimes it is meshed with the model. In OW's case, I was a little surprised. I didn't expect them to have such a bubble shape to them. LOL Again. was a great and very informative video! I subbed right after watching. I might learn a few things I didn't fully understand before. Great job to both you and Plus or Minus.

When playing Widowmaker, I was always confused on how to headshot D.va in the mechha
In her.. head?
Thanks, KarQ! And you know this common advice looking down immediately if you see a widow decrease chance get a headshot. It's interesting in the light of these models to see how it looks like, for example, if ana turns back and looks down.
WHERES BOB’S HITBOX
When I saw the back of the zen hit box I thought he was carrying cake but it was just his feet
“You can finally climb out of bronze”. Jokes on you karq i climbed out of bronze last season!
No need to boast
Thank you! As a rein main I found this interesting and useful to aim my shots! :D
Pretty neat stuff, always keeping it unique with OW content! Nice job!
This video just made me depressed for missing so many shots on such gigantic targets
You saying "data" so many times started to sound like the underground theme in Mario games
That sound effect when the arrows appear makes me feel the anxiety you get for not checking your Whatsapp messages.
We need an updated version for April 2024!
4:45 winston looking like Iron Monger from Iron Man
MaZe_OW lol
I think I get it, everyone is wearing a hazmat suit
LOL
Kudos for that, now when there is talk of the hit boxes, I have a much better idea and clarity of what is meant.
[I wonder how many shots I've made in game that actually got registered as a hit, when from p.o.v/perspective I felt sure were complete and total whiffs... lol the deep heavy sighs of frustration when you miss on a sniper class, LOL the frustration XD.]
But, yes, this gives a much better level of understand to how a lot of it works in relation to the boxes.
How is THAT a thing?" LOL xD
Of course these days, I know much better now, like sometimes it is meshed with the model. In OW's case, I was a little surprised. I didn't expect them to have such a bubble shape to them. LOL
Again. was a great and very informative video! I subbed right after watching. I might learn a few things I didn't fully understand before.
Great job to both you and Plus or Minus.
I think the community could use an updated version of this video.
Lol he said roadhog is short he's like almost 7 feet tall
2.1336 meters for the rest of the universe.

This was really great! Well done Plus Or Minus! :D
Dev: How big should the hitbox be?
Zenyatta: Yes
Wish there was a way to see Hanzo's hitbox while he has his bow drawn, feels like his arms block his head
It doesn’t just FEEL like that, it DOES do that. There’s been people that have tested it and you literally can’t headshot him during part of his bow drawing animation
They need to give zenyatta a movement ability like moira. I was surprised by moira hitbox being so thicc, and realized why she had fade. But zenyatta is literally a sitting target. They should give him an ability where he can move faster temporarily like reapers wraith form
I'm pretty sure Roadhog's is the whole map.
blizzard's dev team: hey, what if we make a hero that can melt you in 1 second and has it's head on its back?
Players with a brain: It's free real estate
Showing Zen's hitbox in trance is useful because he can block shots for people behind him while he's invulnerable.
