    What an elegant and well-balanced presentation of one’s story. Dr Tour did a holistic discussion without putting down any of the mundane isms and let the Lord percolate through his speech. I am a Trauma & Orthopaedic surgeon, have not had the opportunity to be long hours in the lab……but the little science I know helps me worship my God. God bless Dr Tour and the calling on his life.

      The speculations of this man go against all we have learned
      about the natural world. Either overthrow everything we think we have learned
      about modern physics, or distrust the stew of religious accounts/unreliable
      testimony/wishful thinking that makes people believe in the possibility of life
      after death. It’s not a difficult decision, as scientific theory-choice goes.

      You do not predominantly disagree with me, but with every physicist out there. In particular, with one of the
      conclusions from a model, which is proven beyond any reasonable doubt. That’s
      not live in general, that’s the life you choose. Good luck with that.

    The story of Dr James Tour proves the verse: the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.

    • @derhafi
      @derhafi 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So, you say wisdom begins with the fear of an unfalsifiable concept….Sounds more like the
      beginning of irrationality to me.
      It’s like saying that: “Wisdom begins with the fear of elves.” This is how stupid that
      sounds.

    • @MsMuffetsTuffet
      @MsMuffetsTuffet 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why should we fear a being who is touted to be unendingly benevolent? That makes NO sense.

    • @MsMuffetsTuffet
      @MsMuffetsTuffet 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @David S - Seems YOU are the Godless trash by being insulting and rejecting one of God's children. You are a hateful person and I am questioning those who are contradictory. Perhaps that is how Satan deceives you, to be afraid of God and to seek him instead and you being none the wiser.
      God is love and NOT to be feared. Revered and exalted yes, not feared.

    • @derhafi
      @derhafi 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @David S "Godless trash" really? Is that the kindness and eloquence that comes when one is under the delusion to have the creator of the universe on his side?
      Sounds more like the rambling of a person insecure in his own beliefs. Should not be hard to provide solid evidence if for your conviction.... Got some?

    I am a simple man and humble knowing I can only understand a small portion of Dr. Tour’s thoughts, ambition and drive. The one thing I can say I share with Dr. Tour is Faith in Christ. I am a police officer and I often have allowed myself to be discouraged by the more human elements I am exposed to in my everyday work and criticism in our society. When I learned of Dr. Tour and his journey especially compelling being Jewish from Brooklyn, I strive to look into my own heart and my anger is starting to transform into something better. So along with all the scientific accomplishments, degrees and titles, respect and continuing success, add yet another re-energized inspired spirit to that list. Christ may be the conductor in that element but Dr. Tour is the vehicle or tool if you will and I am thankful.

Through special revelation of the Bible and Jesus Christ we learn of God's Love for humanity. Quote John 17 :26 I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the Love you have for me may be in them and I myself may be in them .God loves us all, diligently seek Him with all your heart and soul and you will find Him .And you will have unbelievable peace Amen.

    "I wish I knew what you know...". What a humble, nice remark of an ambition that exists in many, and the driving force behind a great deal of human effort. We would certainly grow exponentially in appreciation of God, and I wonder if those who knowing much and can't seem to appreciate God necessarily end up worshiping something/someone else, because it is just an unavoidable response (i.e. worshipping nature, man, science, and so on). That would imply a choice.

    Speaking of mosquitos, did you know that the proboscis they use for sucking blood is the same design on both males and females, but only the female actually sucks blood. The male uses his to get sap from vascular plant stems.
    The female needs the extra nutrients likely for developing her eggs. But the point I am making is that in a world where sin had not entered, perhaps the animal kingdom was able to survive off of the plants. Scripture suggests that this is the case in Eden and that the environment wasnt fluctuating in seasons as we see today. Possibly providing more sustenance throughout the year for all creatures. Even those seemingly designed for nature, red in tooth and claw.

    1st Thessalonians 5:21 speaking of prophesies but also applies to everything we hear around us "test everything; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil". And also Jon 5:39. Christianity commands us to ask questions and investigate because you are asking God Himself in the uniqueness of what Jesus brought which is A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE LORD by way of evidence based faith compared to other beliefs where there are minimal questions allowed, if any, blind faith. Your questions must not be mocking and wanting answers according to what you want to hear but seeking Truth. GOD BLESS

    On the reply that, “You shouldn’t say evolution is wrong until you have something to replace it with,” let me put this to bed with an analogy.
    You suspect that you may be adopted. You get a blood test and find out the blood type of yourself and the two people who have claimed to be your parents. You examine blood type possibilities and find out there is no way either of them could be your parent. You confront them. If they replied, “You cannot call us liars based on refuting it with blood types. First you have to find your supposed real parents. Otherwise you have to accept that we are your biological parents as we told you.”
    See. Nonsense. Evolution as it has been presented is wrong. Period. There may be a progression of lifeforms throughput the history of life, but it does not work through natural selection and random mutation over time. Some other innovative, creative, cognitive application is interjecting itself into biological processes. It appears to be tied to the epigentic information apart from the DNA code, with software dictating coded instructions throughout the organism throughout its lifetime, with body plan information, coded information for instincts (turtles and salmon returning to their spawning points) and other mechanisms.
    These functions will all require some cognitive, problem solving, intellectual aspects. Thus, Mind is involved, not just matter.
    And as Dawkins once said that “Darwin made it intellectually satisfying to be an atheist”, we must now state that atheism is no longer intellectually satisfying. It fails to account for the evidence.

      This progression may be completely illusory. From simple to complex is the crux of the lie. In my opinion, there is only one way to build life, being a form with 5 fingers, 2 lower arm bones, and 1 upper arm bone. Just because God uses a similar pattern doesn't mean the species are related morphologically, it means there is only one way to build life on Earth and it's environment. There was a plan. My guess is we are in a hyper-quantum energy computer simulation with at least one designer.

      As I study these issues further it is amazing how people draw the same conclusions through their own independent study, irrespective of one another. I agree with you whole-heartedly whiteliketar. I recently, at the request of a friend viewed and studied over 80 transitional fossils. These fossils all appeared to be just like one of the two species they supposedly connecting. I found there was just a slight variation from one to the other which could have been explained by micro-evolution even by a layman science mind. I then asked him for some examples of increased information in the genome across species and chemical properties that allowed for these changes, he became upset and told me to read a book that was about 10000 pages long.
      I proceeded to ask this question why is it so easy to give a micro-evolutionary explanation, such as green and brown beetles on a tree and birds preying on the green beetles and after time there are a greater number of brown shelled beetles. However when asking for a simple explanation of macro-evolution the person you speak with gets flustered and angry and directs you to do so much reading that anyone living a normal life would never be able to complete it.
      This actually reminds me of the Pharoah, no matter what God did he refused to bend his will to that of God, and we see the same thing in modern science. There are so many astronomically improbable events that had to occur with no explanation for life to exist but people dismiss it as chance and then ask for evidence to the contrary. Just mind blowing!

      Patrick Dennis you need to quit confusing yourself with fossil interpretation - most of the interpretation is filtered through biased atheism to begin with so quit babbling for crying out loud. There is not a single creature we can point to today where an obvious transition is taking place. Now quit having he blood rush to your head as you begin to furiously give examples of creatures that have already being created like amphibians . The only lone example you can give is in your imagination ....it’s the only place where transitionals thrive.

    You are free to do whatever you want.
    You are also free to enjoy it suffer the consequences of your free choices.
    Cuz there are always consequences.
    If I as the Head of my family has insisted on family devotions, I might have saved my wife from the mental illness that lead to our divorce.
    But though I knew about being the Head of my home, my generation was taught your wife had to agree with anything you thought you ought to do together. That you must never MAKE HER do it; make her OBEY you.
    So much wisdom comes so late because it comes from experience and not from teaching.
    But why is that so?
    Because so often the fruit practicing wisdom is NOT experiencing bad things. So the Good you experience by following taught wisdom is not appreciated until much later.
    We know things mostly by contrast.
    Adam and Eve knew nothing about death, nothing about hunger, pain, and sorrow. So they didn't (couldn't?) appreciate the Life, the Health, the Happiness they had.
    Not until they sinned. But then it was too late to take it back. Like my failure to have a family altar. I now know from experience the likely positive results. So I'll start now and see for myself it's effect on my life with my second and last wife.

    If the geologic column is a legit way to age the planet I wonder how that fits with the empirical data of deposition, erosion and uplift.
    Measuring the areas today with the absolute least erosion and slowest uplift applied to the earth's entire surface would have erased said column 100+ times. And that's being way too generous regarding the speed at which any ancient bones would be erased. Why are there still fossils which are said to be 10s of millions of years old? Utterly impossible. I guess the key to the past is known from jack nuts about the present and measurable data we can verify over and over again.
