Praise the Lord. In 1973 my Jewish professor challenged me to show Jesus in Tenakh. I started in Genesis 1 "Let us make man" and then went to Isaiah 53. He replied that this was Israel. I said "please read it through(as he was standing in front of the class) and ask himself whether the one described had the characteristics of a man, rather than a nation. He said, "I think you are right." He then went on with lesson. (Not out of spite) Now many Jewish people are reading Isaiah 53. Thank you James Tour.

When a man of science comes to the lord one has to pay attention, a jew to boot. Dr. Tour speaks the truth, his comment about coming to the lord is true of me and my conversion, I never read the bible and then one day I was told my a believer to read Matthew every day for 30 days and that will transform me in such a way that they holy spirit would enter and it happens. YOu cannot intellectualize yourself to faith, it is a heart thing and not of the mind. I watch all the atheist, Bennett, Hitchens, Harris, and others and in listening to these brilliant men I see one difference, their heard is cold and that blocks their mind from acceptance.

@@AZJCiLOA His motivation for lying? His conflict between his religious beliefs and reality. He chose faith, and he chose to lie about science to protect his delusional convictions, which after all, have no demonstrable correaltion with reality and no scientific merit whatsoever.
“Based upon my faith in the biblical text, I do believe (yes, faith and belief go beyond scientific evidence for this scientist) that God created the heavens and the earth and all that dwell therein, including a man named Adam and a woman named Eve.” James Tour - Layman’s Reflections on Evolution and Creation. An Insider’s View of the Academy
Want to watch him lie live on stage: th-cam.com/video/zU7Lww-sBPg/w-d-xo.html 45:27 "Those are not sugars..He is lying to you" Well, those are sugars. 46:11 "That's not a nucleotide; it's the wrong structure...." Well, that is a nucleotide with the right structure. Tour knows this. He also knows that YOU, his audience, don’t know or don’t care about the truth...he is a liar.
His modus operandi is the constant suggestion that, criticising naturalistic explanations, adds credibility to the idea that this one God, he happens to believe in exists. This is an epistemological dumpster fire and he knows it. He is avoiding the burden of prove by not clearly stating what he thinks: ”God did it”; he is however more honest about his convictions in his written statements which clearly highlight his bias and lack of scientific integrity.
Exept when he is preachghing to his flock, that's when his true colours show: “The word of God is true. *Every word in this book is true, every word,*. Let everything else be a lie, this book is true! This book is true, this was a prophecy and it’s just piled upon fact upon fact, evidence upon evidence. How much more would you like to understand that this book is true? To bow before God and say: Lord thank you for your work…every word in the Bible is true!” James Tour - at a “lecture” Huston first Baptist church 2019 (th-cam.com/video/3DlWkDkNLQo/w-d-xo.html)
Tour rests his world view with the idea that the Bible is completely reliable, as a literal reading. He believes in miracles ..... and every point he raises in his 13 part rant about Abiogenesis, falls in one of the three following categories:
      - A misrepresentation by quote mining, confirmed by the researchers who got treated in this dishonest manner by Tour
      -Irrelevant to the subject
      -A blunt lie.
You can see his rant point by point dismantled here: th-cam.com/video/ghJGnMwRHCs/w-d-xo.html During this 2.5 hours absolutely every single talking point of his are deconstructed in a strictly scientific context and the attached links to the papers that confirm each and every point Farina makes.
Should you dear Tour fanboy ever dare to watch this, you also are treated with interviews with the mentioned, actual experts in the field, they all agree that Tour is a fraud and deliberately misleading in his presentation. It links to the data he lies about, as well as to the data he ignores, to pretend that it’s all about science instead of God.

@Question Everyfing How about Dave’s challenge for Tour to publish his “work” in a scientific journal and submit it to the peer-review process. As in doing science, the stuff he normally does when he is not out sermonising. He knows that’s how it’s done, given that he brags about his 700 published papers at any chance. So, why does he do the rounds on Christian radio shows and his YT channel instead? After all he thinks he good the goods on decades worth of research. He acts as if figured out something that those thousands of scientists who, other than him, actually work in this field, from all over the world, with different cultural backgrounds and religions could not manage.
Tour got a bit of a problem on his hand. Tour’s so called alternative to natural causes is based on the existence and interference of some ill-defined metaphysical substance/ entity/ force/intelligence/power/ supernatural whatever, not subject to the known laws of physics, that supposingly interacts with the fabric of our reality in ways that have thus far eluded every controlled experiment ever performed in the history of science. In other words, Tours supposed alternative is fictional.

@@derhafi I am Chinese. What happened in Genesis and the resurrection were engraved in Chinese words. I like to share with you my story. I am originally from China and immigrated to Canada with my wife Jenny and son Kevin on June 30, 2003. I didn't know Jesus until June 26, 2004. During those years I was a self-centered man without any religious belief. As a result, I did whatever I saw fit according my own standards.
After I came to Canada, I had the opportunity to attend Christian church and read Holy Bible myself. Soon I realized I was a sinner and was ever on the way to everlasting punishment in hell. According to Romans Chapter 3 Verse 23, all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. Hebrews Chapter 9 Verse 27: Just a man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment. Romans Chapter 6 Verse 23: For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. John Chapter 3 Verse 16: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. At 1:00 pm on June 26, 2014, I came to know Jesus by confessing my sins before Him and accepting Him as my personal Lord and Savoir. I was born again as a new creation. That was the happiest day in my life. I will never forget it. Thank the Lord, ever since I have real peace, rest and eternal life. I do things according to the commandments of God: Love God and love all people. My purpose in life has become: Live for Jesus and Glorify Him.
In summary, Jesus is God incarnate. Jesus died for the sins of the whole world about 2000 years ago (Good Friday). God raised Him from the dead three days after He was crucified. Christmas was created to celebrate His birth. Easter was created to celebrate His resurrection, and He will come again to judge the world and bring to Heaven those who believe in Him. His second coming means the end of the world. Jesus loves you and Bible tells so. He has the best solution to all your problems. I suggest you make a decision to know Him by reading Bible starting from the first three chapters of Genesis, Psalm 139, Gospel Book of Luke in New Testament, then Gospel Book of John, the last three chapters of Revelation, Ecclesiastes, Romans, and visiting a near-by Christian church at your earliest convenience. If you so choose, you can pray to Jesus directly and ask Him to show you that He is a true and living God. I will pray for you for your salvation. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

@@williamwei9524 William, I’m glad that you found a way to be a person you like better with the help of your faith.
However, I’m interested in the truth and vague verses in some ancient book, full of claim with no demonstrable correlation with reality, are simply not a reliable way to find any truth at all.
The entire concept of “sin” and the idea of “hell” is just atavistic nonsense. And this “I came to know Jesus by confessing my sins before Him and accepting Him as my personal Lord and Savoir. I was born again as a new creation.” Is a level of delusion that I find quite worrisome. But since it seems to help you and this was the “happiest day in my life” knock yourself out.
“since I have real peace, rest and eternal life.” Sure.
“Jesus died for the sins of the whole world about 2000 years ago” Aha. Bases on what..the Bible? A cobbled-together anthology of disjointed documents, composed, revised, translated, distorted and 'improved' by hundreds of anonymous authors, editors and copyists, unknown to us and mostly unknown to each other, spanning nine centuries. Good luck.
“His second coming means the end of the world” And you think this is a good thing? You just diagnosed positive for death cult. I have no more questions.

Many people are unaware that the 2000 years ago, in Jewish culture, forgiveness of sins was achieved by sacrificing an actual lamb. The lamb was not discarded after that, but was cooked and shared with the tribe. Jesus is that lamb and is shared with anyone who wants to receive him. Plus can’t get anymore symbolic than on Passover. Also Isiah 7.14 prophesied his birth, not that Mary was a virgin, but that she was an (almah)young woman. 💕

When I was depressed about my own appearance, the only place I found solace and comfort was the reminder that came from that passage found in the hymn "oh, God the Eternal Father"( www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/manual/hymns/o-god-the-eternal-father?lang=eng ) that said, "There was no beauty that man should him desire." I still smile whenever I sing that. But, then wondered at a wax museum where there was a depiction of the last supper and I jokingly told my friends how on earth would they even know what anyone looked like? And the little verbal explanation of the exhibit said it was taken from the words of Josephus, I believe, that Jesus was about 6 feet tall, remarkably tall for his circumstances. i always wondered about that. Nothing can be said for sure about JESUS' APPEARANCE during his lifetime, according to the Bible. (The Shroud of ‎Turin tells us something about Jesus. If it is a shroud of Jesus; I think it is His shroud.)‎
Isaiah 53 tells of the suffering Servant (on the cross), and verse 2 is also related to THIS.
    ‎Isaiah 53:2-3‎
‎“He had no dignity or beauty to make us notice of him. There was no attractive about him, nothing that would ‎‎draw us to him. We despised him and rejected him; he indured suffering and pain. No one would even ‎look at ‎him ‎-‎ we ignored him as if he was nothing."‎ This can also be interpreted as the fact that most of the Jewish ‎leaders and people did not hold Jesus in any value, so nothing “beautiful” in Him.‎
The New Testament says nothing about Jesus' appearance, so even less can be said about His TEETH! ‎
This is absurd! No evidence whatsoever. ‎
There are some mentions of Jesus in the Talmud, but they are generally dismissive and at least partly unreliable. ‎English is not my first language, so it's a lot of work to look up those Talmudic passages. But for those with ‎fluent English can check what has been written in Talmud about Jesus.‎
Everyone can read about the Shroud of Turin and of another piece of cloth named The Sudarium of Oviedo.‎
    www.shroud.com/guscin.htm
The Shroud of Turin is not a dogma of the Catholic Church, so you can believe in its authenticity or not.‎
Signs and wonders are for those who doubt or do not yet believe. We live by faith (certainly), but God is so good ‎that He speaks in many ways… May His Name be blessed forever!‎

God's Word speaks to the heart. Anyone can read (or listen to) God's Word and be touched by God. Dr. Tour was predominately just quoting from God's Word. God is a communicator. "In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God." John 1:1
We are made in God's image the Bible says. We use words to convey thoughts. Maybe the biggest difference between us and the animal kingdom. God is the Word. He conveys thoughts. We convey thoughts to each other and act on them. Dr. Tour used a good illustration in another video. I will expand on it slightly. We say to a friend "go down the block turn left and go another 3 blocks and stop at John's Convenience store and bring us both a chocolate ice cream cone. I'll reimburse you when you get back." Animals cannot do that. Only human beings and Angels can.
I don't know you George. Maybe you are a believer in Jesus. Maybe not. Just read over the same Words that DR. Tour expounds on here. Isaiah 52:13 and then through the entire 12 verses of Isaiah 53. Just 15 verses in all. Then come back and tell us what you think. Look at Dr. Tour's academic credentials above. Fairly bright fellow. But not necessary to understand God's Words.
I too am a Jewish believer. God opened my eyes to the Messiah Jesus 46 years ago. About 13 years after I had been Bar Mitzvah. I have never met or spoken with Dr. Tour. But I have known several Evangelical pastors and have been around several Biblical scholars. The Christian ones will all agree with Dr. Tour I am sure.
The Orthodox Jewish scholars will say that these verses refer to the dispersed Jews who were despised by Gentiles around the world. But someday, the Gentiles will realize what they have done to my innocent fellow Jews. Well, scripture says that Israel was thrown out of the land twice. First by the Babylonians. And scripture is very clear that Israel was cast out for their SIN. And the second time they were cast out for their SIN by God allowing the Roman armies to do that (as God says again) their casting out again was also for their SIN.
The one spoken of in isaiah 53 had done no wrong. (Isaiah 53:9,11). Can't be Israel. So what can you disagree with here about Dr. Tour's expounding of those 15 verses. Please respond. Yes, check some scholars. tell us what Dr. Tour missed. I don't think you can come up with anything material that disagrees with God's Words (those 15 verses here in Isaiah) as expounded by Dr. Tour. Let us know what the "scholars" say. Please.

James Tour never earned a PhD in OT or NT bible research. So why should I listen to James Tour, when I can listen to somebody who has?

@Paul F, what evidence do you have that the shroud of Turin even belongs to Yeshua haMashiach/Jesus Christ? The catholics have enough wooden material to load a few tractor-trailer trucks and they claim that those are pieces of the cross on which Christ was crucified. There are also claims about the spear which pierced his side called “the spear of destiny” and the cup he drank out of at the last supper called “the chalice” ( a fancy cup made out of gold). I don’t have the time and energy to waste in believing this kind of nonsense, but I’ll believe the words written in the Bible to the very last one !!! If the Bible points out in Isaiah 53 that Yeashua of Nazareth, the Mashiach had nothing attractive about his appearance, then that’s what I believe regardless of what claims are made by those who examined some shroud they found somewhere !
