    Good Thoughts (AKA review) video, I came from a ClubSport 2.5 v2 to the Moza R9 and i dont regret it one bit the wheel and the base is great and i have never used a DD before so 9 nm is possibly the strongest nm i have used,
    I feel i wont need to upgrade for a long long time, if anyone has any question about the Moza R9 i would be happy to answer them, been using for almost a year

      how is it a few months down the road? is 9nm still fine or is there a little urge to go with something higher?

      @voongnz it's still great, I don't feel the need for anything stronger, still feels as good as the day I got it

      I got a thrustmaster t300rs gt. I wonder is Moza worth it? I tried a Fanatec during a cruise trip for 10 min. And that's all I've had with a DD. Would u suggest this or a Fanatec?
      Also does the Moza R9 get hot or does it have a fan etc? How is the eco system and pedals as well and the wheel to?
      Is it very detailed and is it a huge difference compared to a good belt driven system?

    • @Demps151
      @Demps151 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @dacke13 so at this moment In time I would avoid fanatec as you will never get your order,
      The r9 is great feels great the f1 style rim is very high quality and the wheel base has not skipped a beat since I have had it a year now,
      The r9 is passively cooled so no fan so it will feel warm to the touch after a long race or been ragged about but that is normal and nothing to worry about as it has safety features built into the software to avoid any issues with over heating, and in all the racing I have done on it not once has it got too hot,

    • @dacke13
      @dacke13 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank u for the response, I read about the news about Fanatec, I'm not in a hurry at all to buy the set up. But since Im new to DD wheels, I was curious about the Moza. I consider it because even thou Fanatec might be good people say the customer service is terrible.
      Thank u for the reply! :)@@Demps151

    The T818 is actually underrated as far as the motor output goes. They're more like a 14nm base and spin much faster than its direct competitors. The plastic won't be anything to worry about 10 years down the road despite what people say, and it also is more capable of picking up more detail than the likes of Moza and Cammus due to Thrustmaster having more experience in making drivers regarding FFB. The extra price tag for the standalone base is there for a reason. Thrustmaster did their homework. There are higher powered brands with similar detail, but that's when you go over $1k just for the base. I have an R12 setup and a T818 setup. Despite the T818 advertising at 10nm it undoubtedly puts out more torque, spins faster, and has much more detail than my R12 setup. Needless to say, the T818 is my main rig and the R12 is for guests. I will say, Moza's accessories tend to be higher quality than thrustmaster's, but the wheelbases do not compare. Not to mention Thrustmaster's wheel rims have this cool factor nobody else has despite being lower quality than the competition. I mostly use aftermarket wheels and button boxes on my T818. Most underrated wheelbase ever to be released and somehow all these reviewers are dead blind to what it really is capable of.

      I’m really thinking about buying the T818 but tbh like you said pretty much all these reviews don’t really make the T818 sound good which is why I’m very hesitant. But it’s like 50/50 the TH-camrs say the T818 isn’t great but then the viewers and reviews especially on Amazon say it is. In summary would you recommend the T818 to someone who loves sim racing like me that has the money as well and wants to get away from the Logitech G920. As much as I would love a MOZA or a fanatec but they’re stupid high prices and shipping where I live is terrible.

    I absolutely love my T818 , Glad I went with it . I haven't had a single issue in almost 9 months now of heavy use . The FFB is incredible and very strong , I have the Sparco rally wheel with it and for me it's a great combo . I honestly can't see wanting more power , the 10 NM is more than. Enough and I often find myself dialing it back ! Anyway it has incredible detail , is made well and has worked great !

    I own the T818, 100% in it's controller, 65% in AC/ACC, it's messing up your arms.
    Probably because it can hold 10 nm, not just peak to.
    I would argue, it's more than enough for anyone.

    I side stepped/upgraded from a Clubsport V2 to the CSL DD 8nm and while it's insane how much smoother and more detail a low end DD provides, I'm often left feeling that it's too weak.
    Now looking at leaving the Fanatec Eco system and jumping to Simucube.

  • @theonlylolking
    @theonlylolking ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The Road America carousel is a major point to consider people. How many times have you taken the carousel and just spun out? The reason is because your wheelbase was not able to give you the detail while under high load. Now to fix this you would have to lower your force feedback settings, but then the rest of the track will not have as much force feedback.

    • @simulationstimulation961

I couldn't decide whether I would need the extra strength later down the line but found a good deal in the UK that came with the GS GT wheel so went to the R21. I have the t818, and The power is a little more than I can handle. You can race for hours and it stays cold. I wonder if t818 is positioned as continuous 10NM whereas others are peak. In power, the RMS is normally = 1.4 times higher than the peak or more. In an Audio amplifier, the peak power can be 2000 watts, but the RMS (continuous) is 500 watts.
    I wonder who compared the power while having that in mind.

  • @luxor2k_
    @luxor2k_ ปีที่แล้ว

    Good thoughts but you need to get more into the head of the people who are buying these entry level DD. Not everybody has the space (or a desk, mind you, a regular desk doesnt work for higher forces) or the budget to go for 20NM high end sim equipment. You made way to many comparisons between these 2 products and your preferred equipment than you did with 100-300$ dollar equipment - which ultimately are the people who will be buying this and because it was made primarily for them and not for somebody who spends 2000$ on a rim alone.
    I know these are your thoughts and not a review but still, the video comes across like I have so much better equipment, these are great but you still need to buy 20NM and GSI in the end while it should be hey, sim equipment has come a long way, a couple of years ago you could get a logitech for 200$ and then nothing until a 1000$ fanatec, now there are these entry level DD which are great but you can still upgrade them later if you want to take your sim racing even further.

    also depends on the game, F1 games doesnt require that much ffb strength, max it out and you will struggle turning the car when you have that tons of downforce and would want to center the wheel like crazy.

    Good honest overview. Thank ya sir. I started with an asetek 12nm and it’s outstanding. I found its first and really only real limitation so far, and that’s in the f3 car. Haven’t gotten into the formula b cars quite yet but I’m sure I’ll be wanting more force with the super formula.. otherwise i can keep that force feedback meter just kissing max from time to time and don’t want any more power in any other cars. I was genuinely bummed when I finally understood where those massive spikes make all the difference and where my wheel couldn’t handle it.

      @djegovic22 I bought the moza r9 on March this year, and, within 30 minutes, playing ACC, the base gets hot. I run it default settings and in ACC at 70 percent, forced feedback. Now, on July 14, I started to feel a very strong smell coming from the moza wheelbase like burned plastic. I bought the warranty at Micro Center, and it covers 2 years. I will see what I end up doing.

      I have to be accurate on my purchase because I intend to buy a DD on a trip either to US or Europe (I live in Brazil). So it would be a pain in the ass if I had to send it back.

    I have a DD1 and I probably use only a third of its strength, so if it ever dies on me I'm not sure what I will do, still I would be worried that 10Nm or less really wouldn't be quite enough, maybe 12Nm would be the sweet spot for me.

      Do not forget that the T818 is 10nm constant so peak is higher than that; the Moza is 9nm peak, I have them both and the T818 is definitely stronger; I have the Moza R9 since early june and the T818 since last week, I keep on experimenting, I have the CRP pedals on the Moza side, will have a set of Fanatec Clubsport V3 tomorrow to match with the Thrustmaster replacing the T-LCM pedals.

      @@NachoRacingTV Hello, more force feedback strength of course, but also more subtle details but that can be the Moza software that is superior; bottom line is, if your starting from scratch, get the Moza; if you already own Thrustmaster wheel(s), T818 is a great choice !😀

    I appreciate your unfiltered input on these products! You can also adjust the Moza settings from an app on your phone or tablet, on the fly. I do think that your comments seem to be more focused on a smaller percentage of sim racers like you already mentioned in the video. For the masses, I'd expect either of these to last a couple of years before considering an upgrade. Although, your comment about missing out on the range was very interesting. Having the R9, I think I will shoot for 16+nm the next time around.
