I love your positive enthusiasm! A great 2023 hike in Boulder is the recently renovated Anemone Trail near Boulder's Red Rocks. I hope you're still enjoying Boulder 2 years after you made this video.

I’m really considering going to CU Boulder, and your cheerful attitude and outstanding personality was such a treat when doing research on a potential big move/ decision!! Do you know of any hiking groups/ communities that someone could join in Boulder! I love hiking, and normally love to do it with the serenity of a small group, but feel excited about finding a social scene with a common interest if I end up committing!! Thanks so much for the video

Ahhh thank you - that's very kind! And oh my word I WISH I had gone to college at CU! Boulder is just amazing. There are definitely hiking Meetup groups here so would recommend checking there, and I'm sure CU has groups as well. I tried out a women's only hiking group but it has been disbanded, and also tried Colorado Mountain Club but found it to be mostly retirees (who were great but I was looking to meet people closer to my own age so that did not work out). However, if you're into hiking, you will meet MANY likeminded people here who are also into that!

I have vacation scheduled for the week of October 11th. Do you think I would still be ok to hike the King Lake trail?

It really depends on how early we get snow. It’s too early to tell how much we’ll have by then at the higher elevations. But if you don’t mind hiking through a little snow you should be fine in October. Just bring layers - it could be cold up there by then.

I am visiting Boulder the first week of November (I know, not the best time of the year for hiking but hopefully I'll get to visit in the summer next year) and I was just wondering what the hiking conditions would be like. Do you think that any of these places would be good to hike during that time? Should I expect some snow?

These are all at higher elevation hikes aside from Bear Peak, so they will very likely have a fair bit of snow by then, and the trailheads to Lake Isabelle and Blue Lake will be closed by then for the winter. You can still get to them but you would have to add miles onto your trek and probably hike through snow. So it depends on how far you want to go and if you’re comfortable hiking through snow/ potentially dealing with winter conditions. I’d recommend bringing layers and microspikes if you do decide to hike to any of them. There are a ton of great hikes right in Boulder though, depending on what you’re looking for, including Boulder’s five peaks (South Boulder, Bear, Green, Flagstaff, and Sanitas). You could also check out some of the trails in Rocky Mountain National Park. Those will be higher elevation as well but since the park is so popular, even if there is snow, it will likely be packed down and easy enough to hike on/through (but I would still recommend microspikes).

@@AudreyAdventures thanks for the reply and insight. Yeah, I figured it might be snowy conditions during that time, which I do enjoy as well (i just need to prepare for it though). Not sure if I can pack my snowshoes in my check-in so might have to rent some out there. Thanks again, hopefully this won’t be my last trip to Boulder :)

Do any hikes start or end with a starbucks?

Plenty of Starbucks in Boulder - you could certainly make it happen, though I don't know of any Starbucks specifically at trailheads. :)
