Moisture trap is installed in hose backward. the compressor should be connected to the clear "jar" portion to capture any water/moisture in the air from the compressor. The Airbrush (not gun) should be connected to the chrome end. The way it is connected in the video could allow moisture collecting in the trap to condense and spit water into the airbrush and onto the subject. Overall great info for beginning airbrush decorating of baked goods.
Such a great tutorial. I'm getting ready to airbrush a black bee stencil on yellow flooded hexagons. This tutorial is giving me some confidence. Fingers crossed!
Thanks for a great teaching video. I just got my airbrush machine and had no idea how to use it! I now feel comfortable enough to play around with it. Thanks, and Blessings to you and yours. 😊
Thanks for the tip of airbrushing inside cookie sheet cover!! Great idea! Controlled mess! Also, the gel color with water. I wasn’t sure if I needed to Mix with alcohol to be able to use as airbrush paint. A tip I have is I like to keep my airbrush clean with distilled water. I spray it into the paint well and needle caps when I’m finished. No hard water calcium buildup concern over time.
Thanks for such a great tutorial. I just got a Cookie Countess airbrush machine for Christmas. So intimidating but your tutorial has made me a bit braver to experiment at least on paper towels!!
Thank you for walking us through how to ai airbrushing I just got the sweet teir stencil frame first time user and I want to learn how to airbrush also your awesome
We are planning something special this summer for this BUT, definitely check out our special florals episode from Kristen: th-cam.com/video/RUmqXq2Y-tM/w-d-xo.html
Great tutorial! I recently tried airbrushing and had a lot of bleeding under the stencil. I think it was the setting of the gun and too much spray! Thanks again
This is probably a premature question, since I haven't finished this great video... I am vacillating between Air Brushing vs (mesh) stenciling (is that correct?) I love the thought of airbrushing... but the mesh stenciling is so pretty too.. What do you think? Thank you in advance for making this GREAT Video... What I have seen so far is Fantastic.
This was awesome!!!! I have been doing it all wrong 🤣🤣 But now my mistakes have been corrected! Thank you so much. The black was the worst for under spray BUT now….I’ll layer it and hit the open spaces instead of the whole thing. Do you use a silk screen? I have a clementine cutie set and I have the three layered stencil, any advice on how to tackle it and does white show up on the white flood?? Thanks again..y’all are wonderful 🌸🌸
Thank you💖😍! This is so helpful! Can you explain what adapter is on your hose? I have the Cookie Countess gun but it does not have an adapter like that. Thank you!!!
I have question about the diffuser. I've avoided diffusing around my cookies because I'm afraid they'll absorb the scent or flavor of my essential oils. Your experience?
Hi Chelsea I am a beginner and would like to put has an airbrush kit from Amazon. Which one would you buy as a beginner. I am from South Africa. Thanks for your lovely videos. Xx Wimpy
Thank you so much! What a great question. I do reuse the stencil, but after about 3-4 cookies I will clean and restart. Every design is a little different.
I’ve heard from others when using airbrushing that it smears when they package the cookie and because of this they make sure to always add some design on top so the package touches the royal icing and not directly on the airbrushing. Have you ever had this experience?
@@barbiek3987 the airbrush dries very quickly to the touch! Dusting with cornstarch does not smear, just "seals" the design. When cookies are heat-sealed, it can re-moisturize the cookies, creating some humidity in the bag which can smear the design. The cornstarch prevents this. Hope that helps!
Good tips with the positioning of stencils.
this is by far the best tutorial on airbrushing/cookies. I'm ready to get mine out of the box and try again! thank you
Now I know how to add that pink glitter to those stenciled ballet slippers! Thank you!
Great tutorial. I don’t use my airbrush very much because I don’t get good results. Now I feel more confident with all your tips. Thanks!
The pressure tip was really helpful. I love the idea of using a lid or container to help control the spray area.

What type of icing did you use on the hibiscus cookie ? Royal?
Great tutorial! I recently tried airbrushing and had a lot of bleeding under the stencil. I think it was the setting of the gun and too much spray! Thanks again
Thank you for this! I've been having the pixelated problem and it was so frustrating! Gonna try turning up my pressure!
It’s a small but vital tweak! Hope it helps you with that pesky pixelation

What did you you use to spray/pump the glitter on with? Glitter in a pump?
Could use the airbrush on fondant?

We are so happy you learned something new and can fix something that’s been frustrating to you!
Does the airbrushing alter the taste of the cookie (icing)?
Thank you💖😍! This is so helpful! Can you explain what adapter is on your hose? I have the Cookie Countess gun but it does not have an adapter like that. Thank you!!!
Unfortunately I don’t have much more to offer on the adapter - my machine just came with it

Which airbrush do you recommend?
When airbrushing to create an overlap of color, can one do several at a time?
Hi! Oh certainly! Work smarter not harder :)
I have a cookie countess machine , but it does not have that piece that is in the middle of the white tube . What is that for ?
HOw long do you leave your cookie to dry before packaging
Until it’s dry to the touch (generally 5-10mins or so under a fan) and then dust with cornstarch to seal it before packaging
@@TheCookieChat thank you
Do you use the stencil over on multiple cookies? Or does it need to be cleaned between each cookie? 41:37
Thank you so much! What a great question. I do reuse the stencil, but after about 3-4 cookies I will clean and restart. Every design is a little different.
Tell me about your luster dust in spray bottle....
I’ve heard from others when using airbrushing that it smears when they package the cookie and because of this they make sure to always add some design on top so the package touches the royal icing and not directly on the airbrushing. Have you ever had this experience?
That can definitely happen if the airbrush is too heavy. Dusting your cookies with cornstarch helps to seal them so they don’t stick to your bag!
@@TheCookieChat Hello, great vid. Dust with cornstarch after the airbrushing? Wouldn't that 'blur' the design?

@@TheCookieChat Thanks very much for the explanation!
Would the cornstarch change the taste of the cookies?
