The Dominate Outlaw Black Street Gangs in NYC in the 1970s were....The Black Spades, The Tomahawks, The Jolly Stompers, The Black Pearls, The Seven Crowns.
I’m from Sunset Park Brooklyn. The same gang activity was happening at the time. You had the Assassinators, La Familia, Turban Saints and The Dirty Ones, who transitioned to a biker club and are still active. There were many more gangs but those were the top 4.
I grew up in New Orleans in the 60's and 70's. One Mardi Gras I saw the crowd part like the Red Sea. The Banshees MC was just strolling down the street before the parade. No mean mugging. No acting out. Just laughing and smiling. They looked like sharks swimming through a school of goldfish. Needless to say they left mark on my childhood.
@@Patriot-oi7mj According to their web site they have chapters across the southern states and one in Germany. Don't know who or if they are affiliated.
Im in the Road Agents MC Detroit, we rode down to nola Mardi gras with the Banshees m/c around 77 ? 78 ?.. they had a party house there, and the only thing to eat was tons of navy beans, we ate for a week.. I don't really know who's place it was actually, because they took off and told us to just lock the door when we leave, crazy stuff, we were all getting tons of free beads and stuff from the ground after Mardi gras was over.. some of them we rode with I think were from Texarkana ? They showed us the easy rider cemetery i remember...
I grew up across the river In Brick city, NJ during the sixties and seventies. We had the same thing, the only 2 names I can remember Were the "Demon Warriors" and the " Blue max" These gangs protected the neighborhoods from outsiders who tried to prey on the residents . in the early 70's A fellow by the name Of Billy "Sinbad" moved in from Chicago and was one the founding ambassadors of the " Latin Kings " in North Newark.

Yup yup i grew up in the Barrio Spanish Harlem in the 70's. I remember the Black Spades. But also there was the Renegades they had a chapter in each borough. Also there were the Wild Aces, baby Aces, Lady Aces, also Satan Knights. Crazy times back then..
