+Sanadsk Maybe Ja_Yearl was actually the very first boss for dark souls series to have 2nd phase. Maybe the devs were suppose to create 4 different types of Ja_Yearl which then becomes 4 kings after exhausting the Ja_Yearl's HP or chipping it down to half.

Removing Oscar's larger role is still the biggest one for me, because adding a "rival" or opposite of the player character who's your counterbalancing equivalent fits in perfectly with Dark Souls' overall theme of disparity and I feel like its removal took away a ton of the potential gravitas of the games' more immediate narrative.
LeadFaun I think it would add to that feeling. Your one gift from the game, the dude who's been helping you out longer than almost everyone else betrays and tries to kill you upon the death of the final boss.
11254man but to leave him in the game to oppose the main character would imply that you as the main character, are doing the right thing. We cant have something like that in a souls game.

Seeing Lorian's shield and Lothic's scythe makes me think they were originally supposed to NOT be crippled, and work as a sorta O&S fight where Lorian turtles up and uses a slow, powerful greatsword, while Lothric dodges around with his faster scythe weapon, like Friede.

My guess is she was probably made before the switch in lead developers for Dark Souls 2, so she ended up being unused for the current version we got.
They left unused child models in every Souls game, so i guess you are right

Orthane Yeah same, I find the different things he explores to be pretty cool to see. Some of the more interesting finds I think was the video showing how Gwyndolin's boss arena works and the floating door in the Duke's Archives (which I find pretty funny since you don't even need go to some off out of bounds area to see, it's something you can notice going through the balcony during the rotating staircase area), I liked how he even made his way to it and it seems like it doesn't have a connection to another part of the Archives and didn't have a prompt to interact with it when he made himself level to it and walked up to it, just makes it that much more bizarre.
I like how he showed that the Ceaseless Discharge cheese was actually intentional since he actually jumps and hangs on to the edge and has a special death animation.
Child Emerald Herald is still in the game credits with a voice actor.

I really wish that there was a "gold edition" of every Souls game with all the cut content included. Or like an "Origin DLC" sort of thing, because a lot of stuff seems really cool, but, unfortunately, cut out for one reason or another :(

The boss arena of the Last Giant is directly underneath the area you fight the Giant Lord.
If his HP drop below 50%, out of desperation, he starts to use his arm for a sword, just the way the Giant Lord swung his sword.
Maybe he crashed trough the ground and was left for dead in the war, but he somehow survived...
My No.1 would've been Shiva the East's questline, purely because of the dialogue; oh man that laugh.

For number 3, I believe it was how the four kings looked like before being touched by the abyss
demon' s souls is also my favorite. I personally think the early art style and glitches give it charm and character. it would be great to have it remastered with the last archstone in. we can only hope though

The Fool only if they redesigned the bosses to make them more interesting and challenging and added bonfires or proper shortcuts to boss arenas.. Having to battle the same enemies in narrow ledges or stairways all the time sucks

Meanwhile E3 Sony presentation, many of us has high expectations of Bloodborne 2 announcements when it comes from software's turn to present. Hidetaka Miyazaki walks to stage and lights turns off, miyazaki first words will be "BEHOLD, Thou' s new challenge awaits thee". Out nowhere starts Demons Souls prologue soundtrack playing. "We Shall Show You Our Newest Creation" Towards Big Screen appears Demon' s Souls 2. Whole audience stands up and crazy applauses and silly whistles makes alot noises. At end of presentation Hidetaka announces another Title of upcoming "Demon's Souls Remastered".
And that will be my point where i wake up and see From Software's new announcement of Armored Core part XI.
Why does the undead king somehow remind me very much of Zodd from Berserk? I mean, we get the Artorias Guts link already, yeah, and a lot of inspiration has been taken, but that character (in that model) quite literally looks exactly like Zodd in his human form...
A lot? no, Miyazaki rips off Berzerk as much as humanly possible without lawsuit, practically everything in DS1 was either a reference or ripped straight out of it. (bonewheel skellies and "greatsword" greatsword are prime examples of the latter)
Overlord IV he does look like zodd, but don't ya think he looks like grunbeld too?

Pretty sure in an interview miyazaki said he hates sequels. he also said dont expect a demon souls remake, or souls 4.

Miyazaki hates sequels... that's funny, oh fuck you're serious... well he sure has a funny way of showing it considering he made a "spiritual successor" title and made one sequel (didn't work on DS2 but i'm sure he OK'd it) and one spin off, also kingsfield had a sequel (though i don't know if he had a hand in making those...)
I was actually discussing this with a friend the other day. I was thinking that in a few years it would be awesome to get a remaster of the series, but I'd like it to be more than that. If they're going to have to remaster everything anyhow wouldn't it be cool if they made it so you could bring one character through all the games and when you went into the next one your weapons and armors would carry over essentially making it so you could use any item from the series in any one of the games. Of course doing this would make it so the mechanics and enemies for all the games would have to be adjusted massively to make everything work which might cause the games to play very differently than they did originally. I could probably write a long article of all the ideas I have to make this actually work (ng+'s would be weird), but I highly doubt this will ever happen, but I'd buy the shit out of it if it did.
Don’t expect sequels but remastered demon souls and ds1 would be nice.

I believe that northern limit in demon souls was the concept of Dark Souls 1 , the developers said that the painted world of DS1 was meant to the main part of the game but was later been put to the "painted world" due to its lack of connection with the whole concept of the game
They really did Oscar dirty cutting out such a huge questline. Also, he calls Kingseeker Frampt "Sage Frampt." I guess the primordial serpent may have originally been meant to be an ancient Sage. Perhaps to be in Big Hat Logan's place?

2.- the variantof the wapons of ds2 (bloody caestus, black rapier golden great axe, etc)
3.- sacrifice mechanic

I think Undead King Ja Yearl could have been an younger version of the four kings, like before he made contact with the dark and the abyss, and you would fight him in the dlc wich is apparently in different time previous to the events of dark 1.

Anyone else notice the snake warrior in the unused demon souls map? that concept was later used in sens fortress for dark souls 1.. Maybe that map would have been a castle filled with traps similar to sens fortress. We will never know for sure.
I'm hoping there will be a demons souls remaster plus the unfinished map, I'm just wondering if it is ever going confirmed :(.

Hmmmmm...An Area called the Northern Limit? And the name of the sword whose halves became Demonbrandt and Soulbrandt is Northern Regalia....
Now it makes me think that the Northern Limit was supposed to be a DLC of Demon's Souls. Where ur supposed to collect the broken pieces of the stone plate that resembles the Northern Limit then put it back together to open the path and explore it.
the northern limit castle reminds me of dark souls 2 ivory king dlc with the castle and frozen wasteland
The dragon aerie in Dks2 was originally covered in snow as seen on the first reveal trailer.
thats my major gripe with the souls series, they were so close but cuz of time constraints or just lazyness from the devs theres so much good stuff missing or sitting in the files. Demons souls would've been my favourite game of all time if they hadn't of cut out the 6th archstone

It is possible that the "ja reel' is part of the Bed of Chaos fight that is mentioned in the design works. Originally it would have been a fight against 'the king of izalith' and the bed of chaos would be the arena which would occasionally attack the player.

Would be this unused content of Demon's Souls intended to be some kind of DLC in the future back then? Because From Software didn't launch any DLC for this game. Maybe it could be included in a possible Demon's Souls remaster, or even as a part of some DLC, if they launch.

I remember their being a weapon called 4 Knight's Hammer which mentioned some characters named the 4 Knight's so would it be possible if you could dive into the game files and look for anything else that mentions the 4 Knight's or maybe some models?

Jareel is definitely the original first phase of a two-phase boss fight. Jareel and Jareel demon? All the resemblances? I think it's pretty undisputable

1. Oscars questline is awesome. Sadly they deleted it. It seems to have a deeper story and meaning for the game :)
2. Undead King Jar-Eel remembers me he could be a prototype for Slave Knight Gael. Coat and big sword - and the link to the darkness, abyss and so on.
I am actually happy that the "create a bonfire with a body" mechanic was removed. I think it would have made Dark Souls III too easy.
