Good video. It definitely confirms my suspicions for what is wrong with ours. I guess we will just tough it out until a fix comes through from the dealer.
Thanks, I wanted to see how it was made, I was a Tech in a dealership for many years until a few yrs ago, so if it ever happens to ours I was planning on taking care of it myself. I pretty much won't let anyone touch my vehicles.
Thank you for sharing! It is sad many of us are going through the same issue. Another thing I noticed today… there is a button on the 2nd row seats that you can hold down so it brings the seat forward to get to the 3rd row. Well, when I do this on the seat behind the driver, it doesn’t bring the seat forward. However, when I hold the button on the seat behind the passenger then it does bring the seat forward. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? There are other things I’ve noticed about the vehicle (distorted line across rear view mirror, Bose speakers tremble a little too much, I can hear the wind on the driver side between the door and seal) but I keep hoping that I am being too picky.
You're welcome. I'm glad people are finding the video helpful. I have noticed some of the things you've mentioned. The cabin noise and the drivers door wind in particular. Our last car was a 2018 Acadia Denali and I believe the fit and finish was better.
What a video bro, my Chevy Traverse LS2024 has the same issue and I’d like to contact you to ask you if can you help me with some info to fix my car, it could be really helpful. I brought it to dealer and they won’t help and they want a lot of money just to fix it. Thanks for everything, good video by the way
Thanks for making this video! Mine haven't stuck yet, but worried it's going to happen any time now. Have you investigated the button looking thing on the left hand side? I've heard on other forums that after removing the cap in the center of that thing, a long rod can be pushed in that way to release the headrest. It may avoid having to pry the right side open.
@@kevinparis3857 I tried pushing on the button but it didn't seem to help. It was hot and I was just over it so I just dove in. Thanks for the insight though.
Yes today they admitted a problem with the headrests. They also said parts are not available. The parts guy said they don’t know when something will be available. My seat motor was broken too. Stuck down. They have another Acadia on the lot and it’s broken as well. This is a real bummer of a situation. These vehicles should not be marketed with this situation happening.
I expected better quality. Our last car was a 2018 Acadia Denali and I believe the fit and finish was better. I'm just thankful that so far the only real defect I've found with ours is the 3rd row headrests.
Great video. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for the comment, I'm glad the video helped. Just put any questions here in the comments so that others can learn too. Thanks again.
I am on vacation have less than 1000 miles on my elevation and having the same issue. Great video.
@@chrisjaglinski831 thanks for watching. I hope it helped.
Pull out the cap on the onther side and push the button in with a long skinny screwdriver

PS. it's a shame we have to do this on our brand new cars. GM needs to make a fix for this a priority.

Ours was broken at purchase. Still waiting on parts!
@@stevefrederick1298 yep our's too. Has your dealer admitted to there being a problem?

Dealership said they tried this on our manual pull cord version (AT4) and it doesn’t work.
@@stevehirjak7824 thanks for the comment. I'm surprised they aren't similar enough for this to work.
