Historically, marriage wasn’t about love or romance. It was about forming alliances with another family and inheriting legacies. It’s just BUSINESS. What Genghis Khan did was just business to expand his empire. In the modern day today, there’s a reason why you sign a marriage contract to merge with another family.

Mongols and most Turkic nomadic tribes have relative gender equality. The females are very capable of everything the males are. It's practical. When the men are away at war, you need whoever is left behind to handle matters at home. Usually, it's the women.
@@flowflower2816 But some decisions must be made fast on the moment.
In old turks saying that khan(male ruler) said to (insert somethibf) would generally be disobeyed
But if both khan and his wive said something itd be 100% obeyed
Bwcause turks and mongols see females not as a object but instead and what completed a man and vice versa
One thing you can't deny, this man was one of the smartest to ever live. He used pure fear as a weapon and defeated his opponents not just physically but psychologically. If only he'd kept some written records of his campaigns. I would never put them down. War is an art, and I might be a little obsessed.
Edit: Apparently some of you need clarification of my comment. Waging war is an art. You can't just throw men and weapons out willy-nilly and expect anything good to happen. During a time of unrest, knowing how to think strategically and come out on top requires study of law, culture and a million other things. I never said war was good. What I'm saying is that as long as there is war (and there will be as long as humans are living), there is reason to learn it if you want to survive. Don't just sit back and let the internet teach you everything. Gather the records of those who saw it firsthand. Read after the generals from all over the world who put their strategies on paper. Talk to the people who've actually lived it. Maybe then you'll understand what I mean.
There are records
War is stupid.
@@LisaMT1218they mean that the way some countries or kingdoms win the wars is interesting and they want to know more about it since they find it as an interesting thing, so calling it an art in that perspective is ok, you understood it wrong
If he would have stopped and built the city's he destroyed back up, he would have retained a large empire.
But he destroyed and just moved on.
Yeah, what happens in Ukraine is truly a masterpiece 🤩
That one absolute spartan of a son in law refusing to die in war 💪
Genghis Kahn: But nobody will know you will have survived *executes him*
You know it was pretty easy to die in early times..... You get an infectious wound, some disease that your local doc isn't aware of.. Shit diahrea was a big bad in early days you could literally die shitting so those people were built different
I wish there was a real story of one such defiant son-in-law 😕
@@alenmajor probably not as spartan as Genghis
@@alenmajor Actually, there was one son-in-law. In short, Khan was really strict but actually a doting parent. And one daughter married a guy she liked, and Papa Khan liked him too. At some point, the son-in-law died during the siege of a city. Khan gave the city to his widowed daughter, who inherited some of his personality, as she ordered the killing of ALL LIVING THINGS in the city and made a mountain out of skulls...
Respect because he cared for women & was smart about it.
The Inferiors and beta males still think Khan was a feminist 💀, they are forgetting daughter doesn't mean other women and what he did to other women for capital punishments and how many concubines he excecuted. Even the daughters stroy is a huge myth.
Interesting fact: This tradition created an abyss between the royal family and higher officials. When Ogedei Khan died, his wife dismissed most of the loyal and scholarly officials of Genghis Khan. This marked the beginning of the split within the Mongol Empire.
Live by the sword die by the sword

You sure it wasnt Genghis Khan's death that started the fall of that empire?
Where did you read this information? Can you please let me know? I’d love to know the history of this king and his kingdom.

Ancient Egyptian kingdom when get a daughter: "Sh*t, not again"
Meanwhile Genghis Khan: "I was looking for gold, but I found diamond instead"
He was perfect for the time he lived. Genius. Strategist.
He also treated women as warriors in their own right. I’ve heard rumors that his daughters were well versed in weaponry and strategy. They were not wall flowers, but his pride and joy warriors.💪🦋
but women back then never fought in wars...the reason is because women carry children and allowing women to die would lower the population.
Source ?
source : I've heard rumours
@Israhim Gay Again sources? I do not say what you are saying is false I ask you to provide a source (and I mean an academic one). By the way, I am aware that up to 20 % of Mongol women "could" fight (if the camp was attacked or if the men took hil but it does not make the daughter of the Great Khan warrior warriors. "The art of war" - Gis Khan
Well he is probably the only king who actually cared about his daughters and helped them become queens instead of selling them off to the highest bidders like catle
Had nothing to do with loving them. He sold them off to become queens to men they didn't even know?? Nothing caring about that.
You are dense? Holy shit they were property.
And he obviously taught them how to administrate. So they were educated. He made his daughters in charge of running the terrotory while the husbands went off to die, um, fight.
