Ali is living proof it's never too late to find your happiness and soulmate in life. Thank you for sharing, Ali, you're an inspiration to all of us!

My story is so similar. COVID heavily damaged my heart and lungs. Having episodes of congestive heart failure and respiratory disease that are triggered by cooler weather. The last 2 winters I have nearly died with the doctors telling me there is nothing more that they can do, and I can not expect to survive. With Wasting Syndrome, I've went from a 235# gym rat to 147# in February. In February, I left the hospital to go home to die. I am severely weakened, but I survived. My pulmonologist has openly told me to leave to a year-round warm climate or get ready to start pushing daisies. So, in a couple of weeks, I get on a plane moving to the Philippines. Starting a new life from the ground up, but at least I'll have a fighting chance.

Wow Paul, I’ve been watching your videos for a long time. I think this is one of your top videos that you have shared. God bless Ali. You are well blessed. Thank you for sharing your experiences of life.
I felt the same way about not being able to find somebody closer to my age without baggage or children, I ended up with a 25 year age gap and getting married to a 22 year old Filipina girl, that was over 24 years ago and things are still going well, no regrets by either of us.
Amazing video Thanks for sharing Ali...please do more videos on your wisdom and insights...how Philippines 🇵🇭 changed you...more of your observations...what you learned 😊❤
Old Dog Paul, I really don't know how long it has been since I have been subscribed to this channel and following you. I know you had another channel and purposely stopped it and started this one. I say all of that to say that THIS is one of your VERY BEST videos...!! Ali has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to be ashamed of nor apologize for. He owes NO ONE an explanation on the way he is living his life nor who he has been blessed with as a life-partner. NO ONE but himself is paying his bills and at 62 years old, who really cares just what people have to say or think. My hat is off to him and his wife and family and those of us who aren't blinded by judgment, jealousy (for someone we don't even know) could be as blessed as this young man. Thank you for sharing your story Ali..!
WOW! Super great story, a whole lifetime of information in a short video. I agree with all he said. Thank you so very much. Will be watching this again and again.
This guy was blessed. Takes courage to tell his story like that. He found what he was looking for. Here is like living in BS, 24-7. I know how this guy feels. I know exactly how he feels. When I'm in the phils, I feel like every burden I have is gone. I feel free, completely free. Being here, I'm constantly reminded of work, my ex, thefts at my home, cars, payments, insurance and everything has increased to the point where it pisses me off. A 100k income and I'm pissed, worried and stressed everyday. Paul makes me jelious everytime I watch his vids. Its getting to the point in the phils that Paul is becoming the one and only true, no bullshit kinda guy. If I last till December when I retire. I'm out of this sess pool of shit here in the US. This guy puts a frog in my throat. I know exactly how he feels. The real trick to the phils is; loving the phils. If you do not love the phils in general, it won't work for people. But, living in the phils and feeling comfortable there, realizing the good people there and seeing its true value, has alote to do with the return someone gets from the phils. Best wishes to everyone. Paul dam good interview. Hats off. 5 stars, ☆☆☆☆☆
What a great story! I'm so glad he saved himself. I'm a female, solo, and have been watching videos of relocation for years including Phillipines.. I just got back from Mexico, and decided that is not for me. I'm still searching for my forever home. I cannot stand living in the US. I just filed for social security, 62, and would like to go be happy in my life. I just do not like living in the United States. Everything he says is true. Except for female, aging, is a little different. I'm not looking for a man, just happiness, and contentment. I'm so happy for this guy. He deserves happiness. Who knows maybe I'll visit Philippines. 🙂
As a Filipina married to an American for 37 years, I watched older Americans both men and women shuffle along life here in the States (specially during winter season) and feeling sorry for them. I do wonder to myself a lot whether they know or wonder themselves if there is a better life out there in other parts of the world. And of course, I wonder aloud to my husband whether they know that there is a better place than trudging in the snow to get their groceries...and all these wonderings I think of my country, the Philippines. Okay so I am blabbering now but I hope it makes sense 🙂and yes, we are moving there in June and I couldn't be happier.
They don't know. They don't want to know. They already know everything. They believe their country is the best place on earth and none can convince them otherwise. Just leave them, they're lost. Enjoy your life in the PH.
Congratulations, I'm happy for you to be going back home! My wife has been here with me in Florida now for 12 years. Although I'd miss my family if we move to Bohol, the way things are going in this country, Philippines is sounding better and better.
I would like to say this gentleman‘s story is very true. He has a lot of similarities as me. I am going to be 62 in a couple of months and I will be leaving to the Philippines for retirement in less than three years or earlier. I may not have the health issues. This gentleman has, but on the relationship parts of this story is very true, including the medical part of the situation here I used to work at Kaiser and they stick to one motto, only one vendor at a time, usually whether it drugs or for supplies in general , the doctors are partners for Kaiser and there are commission kickbacks The ending of this video he says enjoy life are words to live by for all of us men Thank you for your story, Ali!
Thanks a lot for sharing your story with us. I wish you another 50 years of happiness That’s the smartest move you made in your life. Good luck to you.
I retired at 61 last June, married a filipina 12 years ago, she came to Canada and now we are home in the Philippines in a house that we built over the last 8 years. It’s pain for and we’re having a great life . I feel more healthy as well
I'm in similar situation and this gives me hope. 2 divorces, heart issue and alone renting a bedroom to add to my investments to retire in Philippines. My cousin has a Philopena and visits regularly so I'm not going in blind about the culture and I believe I have a very realistic view on things. 3 yrs and counting to retire wish me luck. Thanks for sharing.
I think many men have similar stories of lives that have fallen apart several times, and it all boiled down to finances. Health issues come in many forms, whether physical or mental, and both can be debilitating. I can totally relate to his story, and as I live in California, I can confirm his experiences. It doesn't necessarily have to be the philippines or even out of the United States as there are places here that are less stressful to live and that all depends on the individual. Can you imagine how much it takes to sell everything you have and move halfway around the planet and what would cause a person to do that. This is not a fade but survival for many of us whether it be financial or just for a change of pace and the women in the West are starting to realize that the men just won't put up with it anymore. I've been to the philippines 4 times in 3 years for a month at a time doing recon missions and spending time with a wonderful lady who is what American women used to be . I chose not to be with a woman who could be my grandchild, but the lady I'm seeing is old enough to be my daughter, which at our age is not weird . It's true that we are for the most part not rich by Western standards but in the philippines we are at least middle class by philippines standards so that is the equalizer for what she has to offer in value to me .
People stick to status quo because of material things which you cannot bring with you after life. We hoard things and won’t ever use or see it and keep it in the garage or store it in a storage facility paying fees for stuff. This is the way of life in the west which will eat your life away.
Another great video! I am so happy for Ali. He did the right thing for his health and sanity! Paul you've a great channel going. I watched your interview with an American woman who married a Filipino and that clinched the deal for me and hubby. He is going to retire very very soon and I like the expat community you have shown to the world! Hope we get to meet y'all someday :) BTW, I am a pinay but born and bred in the US. And I know my husband loves me for exactly the qualities that Ali describes about our culture!!
What an Excellent video Paul , My problem is im already to old ? going to 78 this December ,Waitied to long , Started to have the leg problems now , But man what aspiring video, and I can see why you guys are good freiend's Thank you so very much !!
Good interview. I'm not that far behind you and have been used as nothing but an ATM by western women and the divorce courts which financially ruined me for a decade. I'm ready to leave for an Expat country where I'm wanted. Philippines is currently my #1 choice.
Awesome video. Ali, this was a sincere heartfelt story and I enjoyed every minute of it. I wish the best for you and Emelyn and that you are blessed with happiness for the remainder of your life as you well deserve.
Outstanding! Your friendship and kinship are easily felt and appreciated and understood! I’m 58, I’m in my process of getting my boots on the ground there this September! Thank you for all the amazing insights and valuable information! Peace ☮️
I am 68 and my Thai wife is 42 and even I question a 40 year age gap with a 21 year old. If it works for him though then great for them and he has thought through the issues and explained them masterfully.
I am soon 68 and my Cambodian wife just turned 44. 11 years married, she just celebrated her 10 years in Austria. Thank you for this great video! I like how Ali explains all the issues and the thinking behind his decisions. 😊 All the best for you all !
Speaking myself as a filipino. What your sayin is absolutely right. Hands down. As i sense of it all. You love our Philippines and our people. Then in return you never go wrong. You well also be love, respected and very accepted as our own.
WOW! What a GREAT Video---I live in CommieFornia, and agree with his experiences. I am 73, and would love to come to the Phillipines as well. I run an Elder Care Home, and still work 60 to 70 hours a week, to ensure good care is given. The Eastern Way of life....wow what a great approach.! I also have a heart condition, and realize this could happen to me as well..............
Paul, I too almost died last year, my now ex was going to let me expire instead of pushing for heroic measures,(I was only 59 then now 60.) It was someone else who intervened that night. As I rehabilitated I had a wonderful Filipina nurse, she said when I was well and had finished my business here, (My marriage was over by then.) I should visit the Philippines, it might change my life. Since then Ive researched all I can and found I could live a small but comfortable life there. I have nothing here, so in December I will board a plane for my first visit. To see if it's a feasible move. I'll see ya at Ground Zero, coffee's on me.
Paul, you’ve one upped yourself. Ali, my Man. From your lips to my ears. Turning 60 this year. Failed marriage ended last year (20yrs). Diagnosed with CHF April 17th and immediately hospitalized. I’m trying to hold out until 63.5 for social security. If I live long enough, Feb of 2028 I’m leaving my native and beloved country (US) and never to return. Thank you for the remarkable interview. ✝️. P.S. Born in Concord. Live in Orange County. Smack dab in CA. 👊🏻
I'm living with a gwapa filipina 30 years my junior in Cebu. I feel like I'm reliving my youth the way it should have been long ago. It's the best decision of my life to retire here.
Great video, Paul. Heartwarming. From the comments there are guys watching that don’t realize that in the Philippines big age gap relationships are accepted BUT a 20 year gap is about Max seen if the Filipina is successful in her career. At least that’s what recent discussion of a group of Cebu foreigners summarized. It’s often something not talked about on TH-cam. Some men like to be with women who are successful (say making more than $1200 US monthly) in their careers in the Philippines but then, age gap seems to top out at about 20 years.
I do appreciate saying you are a home boy now . SALAMAT PO......More blessing to come, especially your kid will be Filipino Value ....Bring you kids in Church you choose.
" There should be more out there " was also a phrase I said to myself often through the years as my life escalated through the 50's & there really is. Also, here it seems the less materialistic things people have the happier they are. I'm very happy for this guy but personally for me most chicks here that young just don't have that life experience I'm looking for & sometimes things really do change once the honeymoons over....
I appreciate the courage of this man to come forward and tell his story. I am so grateful to God almighty for creating this gigantic nursing home called Phillipines to take care of hopeless senior citizens from North America by these lovely girls. Someday I will get there for my last innings of the game before die happily.
Go now. And the nursing home analogy is harsh. I'm 50, work on an oil rig and have been commuting back and forth for years. My gf was born 2 months after I graduated college. It's a mind set, not an age related issue.
Another success story post USA. Good on you, Ali. Inspirational indeed. Thank you for your candor and courage. Never married, age 68, I had none of the problems you had in USA but left anyways. The culture, women, cost, crime and politics heavily influenced my decision to retire here in Valencia, Negros Island two years ago. While I still have not found "the one" I am enjoying the playing field and traveling SEA a bit (other Philippine Islands, Thailand, Indonesia mainly). It's a pretty good life here in the Wild, Wild East...long lines, bad roads, noise, scammers and greedy landlady notwithstanding. I walk the mountain roads, eat fruits, swim, watch internet TV and play guitar to fill my time. Sometimes I feel like I time traveled back to the 70s moving here because of all the attention, respect, value for $, sexy girls and they even listen to 70s music!
Hi Paul great show mate i always watch i am Aussie i have live for 6 years i have a small Resort in Southern Leyte Grahame and Angel Haven Beach Resort Hinunangan Southern Leyte if you are going pass one day please call in and say hi
"Enjoy your life while you are able." That is similar to what Helen Miran's said in Red 2: "It is important to enjoy life, while you still can." Of course, she was talking to Frank Moses and the hit being put on him, but the sentiment is the same. This video is a great story to tell to your audience. Success can be achieved again, even if you do not expect it.
HI PAUL , another EXCELLENT VIDEO. Horrible life BEEN THERE trying to FIX IT , takes time... Your videos and other VLOGGERS give us HOPE that MAYBE 1 day we can RE GAIN a happy life. TY GOD BLESS CIAO
As a filipino who has a 2 brother in law that were foreighners. I can relate of the unfortunate things that happen to you Mr Ali. I know in your heart you are a good and family man. As long as you love and respect our filipina in return she will do that to you. And so thankful for you here you get out of those toxic environment and come to the place that you still have the worth to be love and cared for not only to your filipina and to us filipinos as well.
Great video as usual! Just a SIDE NOTE. Lookes like a great apartment. Looks modern. Not typical in the Philippines? Curious at what his rent is per month.
Great video. I too will be retiring at 62 in the Philippines but will be in Makati. A few more years then I’m living the dream and seeing my relatives in Manila.
Hi Paul,.. what a great 👍 video !!! I feel and I agree that Ali is 💯 % correct in everything that what he had to say. I also feel that Ali "saved and he is extending his life" by making that move to come and live in the Philippines. I congratulate you Paul in choosing to make this wonderful and "informative" video with such a great and REAL story with Ali. This video puts into prospect a lot of things that guys, like myself have and are living with here in the United States. I can't wait to make my move and put my "boots on the ground" there in the Philippines. Thanks Paul and God Bless !!! Keep up the great work.
Been married to a Filipina for 25 years, moved to the Philippines 15 years ago. 4th and last wife. We have 2 children, oldest is attending Silliman University in Dumaguete. 20 year age gap. I agree with you about the past, but the internet has ruined younger Pinay women today. My wife was a pen pall before the internet. She didn't even have a phone. What I did wouldn't work today. My 20 year old son is proof of that. Girls his age might as well be in Los Angeles. He came hear at age 5, now speaking 4 languages.
Hi Paul, could you please ask Ali which medication the doctor replaced His metformin with. Ali’s life struggles mirror my own. I married in the pi and now in Sacramento ca. my wife wants to have nothing to do with ever going back to the Philippines. She is the most kind, loving devoted wife ever we have been married 20 years now thank you Paul for all the great content if I could talk to my wife to go back to the Philippines, I want to go there and shake your hand. Sincerely, Richard PS also, I would like to shake All’s hand because the Philippines saved our lives.😊
What an inspiration Ali is. I have a story too-I've been married for 33 years, I'm 64, and getting ready to retire soon. Three weeks ago my wife asked for a divorce, what?? What I'm going to say no? She just lost 50 pounds, has been working out, recently got a big job promotion making big money and now she wants to live her "best life" I'm disabled and in a wheelchair but determined to live my "best life" too. Just when you thought you heard it all, think again...
Thanks for sharing. Congrats to you both. I'm in the same situation. I am age 57. Survived 2 heart attacks. For my health and happiness, I have decided to quit my 6 figure salary job and retire in the Philippines. I can't wait to start my new life.
Great interview, fantastic comments. Very inspiring and very positive. The bit at the end about toxic food and medicine leading to a short and toxic life. Is sadly very true. Just look at the average US life expectancy over the last 10-years.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us
Thanks for watching!
Amen !! I don’t not normally comment ! You hit the nail on the head with this video ! I am 64 and experiencing some of the same !!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts! It's great to know that the video resonated with you.
One of the best interview I’ve ever watched on TH-cam irrespective of genre. Thank you Ali and Paul
Thanks for sharing this story. God bless you ALL.
Our pleasure!
Excellent sharing…..yes men love to be respected again!
Hi @freeagentnetwork Thanks, respect goes a long way here!
Hi @gailmaplesden7380 Thanks for sharing your relatable story! We understand the struggle and appreciate your perspective on a better quality of life.
God bless you guys
God Bless you also Robert
What an Excellent video Paul , My problem is im already to old ? going to 78 this December ,Waitied to long , Started to have the leg problems now , But man what aspiring video, and I can see why you guys are good freiend's Thank you so very much !!
Age is just a state of mind, and friendship knows no bounds. Keep rocking!
You are as young now as you are ever going to be. . .
This IS 1 of the MOST important videos about the Philippines, eastern culture I have ever seen. Thank you BOTH for sharing! 🤔
Hi @gheechiedan9299 Thanks so much, appreciate your kind words!
Good interview. I'm not that far behind you and have been used as nothing but an ATM by western women and the divorce courts which financially ruined me for a decade. I'm ready to leave for an Expat country where I'm wanted. Philippines is currently my #1 choice.
You'll always be an atm - you're a man. It's just that you get something in return in SEA.

Great presentation!
Thank you kindly!
Awesome video. Ali, this was a sincere heartfelt story and I enjoyed every minute of it. I wish the best for you and Emelyn and that you are blessed with happiness for the remainder of your life as you well deserve.
Hi @larry.andrews6210 Thanks so much for watching and for your kind words!
Good session
Thanks for taking time to watch and comment
Outstanding! Your friendship and kinship are easily felt and appreciated and understood! I’m 58, I’m in my process of getting my boots on the ground there this September! Thank you for all the amazing insights and valuable information! Peace ☮️
I was considering coming this September as well, how much is airfare running right now?
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm glad you find the insights valuable. Best of luck with your journey!
Ali, thanks for sharing your life with all of us.
I'm afraid of making that move, but people like you and Paul help us.
You can do it!
Great video Paul.
Thanks 👍
I am 68 and my Thai wife is 42 and even I question a 40 year age gap with a 21 year old. If it works for him though then great for them and he has thought through the issues and explained them masterfully.
I am soon 68 and my Cambodian wife just turned 44. 11 years married, she just celebrated her 10 years in Austria. Thank you for this great video!
I like how Ali explains all the issues and the thinking behind his decisions. 😊
All the best for you all !
Amazing interview! I live in Spain and most of the things he said can be a reflection of what's happening here...
Speaking myself as a filipino. What your sayin is absolutely right. Hands down. As i sense of it all. You love our Philippines and our people. Then in return you never go wrong. You well also be love, respected and very accepted as our own.
Hi @brussetbejarasco2694 Thank you for the kind words, I'm glad to hear that!
Very good interview. The example of the ride to the airport was fantastic.
Glad you liked the airport ride example! Maybe I should start a "Rides to the Airport" series!
Hi paul would Lee share the name of the replacement pills of his mediformin meds
Hi @IrAbynormal Thanks for sharing your inspiring story! Excited to welcome you to Dumaguete!
Thanks Ali! So very heartfelt!
Ali's emotions were on full display in that video!
I'm living with a gwapa filipina 30 years my junior in Cebu. I feel like I'm reliving my youth the way it should have been long ago. It's the best decision of my life to retire here.
I can see why you two are friends. Good man.
Hi @Abelius Thanks, appreciate the kind words!
Hi @careysretirementjourney Thanks for sharing your insights! We're glad you enjoyed the video.
Not just America UK too
All Western countries
I do appreciate saying you are a home boy now . SALAMAT PO......More blessing to come, especially your kid will be Filipino Value ....Bring you kids in Church you choose.
Hi @angelocalima6338 Thanks! We're loving life here and trying to instill those values in our kiddo.
Paul why aren’t there videos of retired solo female expats from the US. It would be interesting too..
I have a few on my playlist
Be carefule with that curtain Eugene, the Wizard of Oz is behind it....
Great video
"Great video" - Short, sweet, and to the point! I like your style!
Hi @sunilrodrigo9778 Thanks for your kind words and understanding our decision!
Omg
Congrats Paul finding this amazing interview partner. Every word he says I agree 100%.
I wish him a long happy life 🤞🤞🤞👍👍👍💪💪💪🙏🏼
Hi @beatmueller5119 Thanks, appreciated!
This has to be one of my favorite videos of all times on TH-cam great job Ali
Hi @trinitariobtraveling8113 Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it!

You are absolutely right , thank you for sharing your experience
Hi @natureloveruae9407 You're welcome! Glad to share our story.
Probably the best video I have ever watched of yours brother. Thank you for all You do.❤❤❤❤. I am coming to calbayog next month
Thank you for sharing your journey and your positive outlook on life. It's wonderful to see you embracing new experiences and enjoying every moment.
@@paulinthephilippinesolddog9234 Thanks, Paul. See you around town for coffee sometime...
This hits hard. Much respect to you my friend.
Hi @Kevin_Hartman Thanks, buddy! Means a lot coming from you.
Wow almost at 100k subs, awesome!
Thank you for this one
You're welcome! I accept payment in the form of likes and comments.

So true
Ali, Paul great video gents! You said you got rid of the drama, the biggest reason i am coming there next month. So nice you two are great friends.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to have you joining us next month.
Hi @brussetbejarasco2694 Thank you for your kind words and understanding. We appreciate your support.
Great video as usual! Just a SIDE NOTE. Lookes like a great apartment. Looks modern. Not typical in the Philippines? Curious at what his rent is per month.
we will be giving you a tour in the near future!
Great video. I too will be retiring at 62 in the Philippines but will be in Makati. A few more years then I’m living the dream and seeing my relatives in Manila.
Hi @Airraidcd Thanks, excited to hear you're also joining us here!
Don't get feminist and feminine confused. There is a HUGE difference. And we all know what those differences are. These two men get it.
Hi Paul,.. what a great 👍 video !!!
Hi @floribertosousa2251 Thanks for your kind words!
Congrats on your marriage. Your health is looking good too.
Great content, shared.
Hi @user-ts9dh2ob1v Thanks for sharing!

Great video! Very accurate comparison of the two cultures
Hi @bfrank9079 Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for that ! Came across as heartfelt. So right about the food and preservatives in the U.S.
Another blow my socks off video have to rewatch. Thank you both
Great job Paul on this interview. I am interested to see how this plays out. 💥💯
You and me both!
I understand this guy completely...I'm also 63 and need to work until 65...AND CAN'T WAIT TO GET OUT OF HERE( Canada)
Thank you, Ali. Respect brother🙏🏼
Respect back to you Jim
Good video! Thank you, Paul.
Thanks Charles
Been married to a Filipina for 25 years, moved to the Philippines 15 years ago. 4th and last wife. We have 2 children, oldest is attending Silliman University in Dumaguete. 20 year age gap. I agree with you about the past, but the internet has ruined younger Pinay women today. My wife was a pen pall before the internet. She didn't even have a phone. What I did wouldn't work today. My 20 year old son is proof of that. Girls his age might as well be in Los Angeles. He came hear at age 5, now speaking 4 languages.
Please please lease the land
Hi Paul, could you please ask Ali which medication the doctor replaced
His metformin with.
I'm not sure what his new medication is, i will ask next time i see him
Thank you for taking the time. My wife may be open to travel due to her parents getting up in years..November? I really wanna see Iloilo and Bacolod
Well, hopefully she can pay income to you then.
Hi @assocrec Thank you for sharing your story! Wishing you the best as you navigate this new chapter.
You guys are speaking the whole truth
Thanks for sharing. Congrats to you both. I'm in the same situation. I am age 57. Survived 2 heart attacks. For my health and happiness, I have decided to quit my 6 figure salary job and retire in the Philippines. I can't wait to start my new life.
Hi @alincalcity Thanks for sharing! Exciting times ahead for you too! We're loving our new life here.
Great interview, fantastic comments. Very inspiring and very positive. The bit at the end about toxic food and medicine leading to a short and toxic life. Is sadly very true. Just look at the average US life expectancy over the last 10-years.
I appreciate your positive feedback on the interview. It's great to see viewers engaging with the content and finding it inspiring.
