With Drepanum, you can use Consume MP to zero out your MP and add it as damage to your next WS, then use Entropy on your following WS to restore 100% of your MP. MP is never an issue for scythe-weilding DRKs.
Drepanum continues to be slept on imo... It is the best non-REMA option for DRK by a mile. Properly geared, it's comparable (or arguably better) than a savage blade spamming WAR in dps. Spiral Hell also skillchains well with Leaden Salute or Impulse Drive just like Caladbolg. Popping consume mana then just entropying when you need your mp for a drain 3/dread spikes recast makes it easy to full time the skillchain bonus.
I think overall the list is pretty spot on, for blu though Maxentis is still one of their best nuking weapons hands down. Maxentis / Bunzi is awesome for pure nuking
So got an email saying there was a comment here... but now its gone when I clicked reply, I read the comment though so I will respond, it asked about Maxentius being worse then nibiru and to answer shortly, no its not. Blu gets more from magic dmg+ stat since its spells are low base dmg. There is a long discussion about it right around page 396 of the blu guide explaining it in more detail (not me there but its very nice info) with that said the 3 top blu nuking clubs are Septoptic +1, Maxentius, Bunzi (placed in no particular order) I use Max/Bunzi
I would rank Ullr at least b-tier for the versatility for rdm and thf alone, as well as stats and mag. acc. Also, Karambit is far from top 3 h2h. For overall dmg., I'm going with Veres, then Sagittas, then Godhands. After that, situationally call for Spharai. Karambit is maybe 5th for mnk at best, but I'd still rank it a-tier since it still does good dmg. (I have no experience with Glanzfaust, so I'm unable to rank it here. All of that said, thank you for making this video, as I believe that I am going to get the Maxentius next for mage jobs solo.
Great video that needed to be made since noone has really talked about these since they were just unveiled lol. I agree with your list except a few, what do you and others think of my take: 1) Karambit - B/C tier. You said it beats everything but Empy and Aeonic, but I don't think that's true. I'm pretty sure it's been tested to be just behind all the rema options. In full zerg situations with impetus and footwork up it should be empy, mythic, relic, then godhand/karambit, somewhere in that order. Godhands being the best when impetus is down. It's not too far behind the others though so it's a solid option, but I just can't see that making it an A option when other rema choices should be better in the long run. Agreed that it's a great blunt options for those that can use it, and it's a good entry piece for monk but not better than the remas. 2) Lycurgos - A tier. One theme of your video was comparing everything directly to Naegling, which I think is a little unfair, especially with this great axe. It's by far the best GA option for DRK, and hands down one of their best weapons in general, and a super easy entry point item for them compared to building a rema. Also, on warrior, it seems to be similar, if not almost identical, to a r0 chango, and much easier to obtain than chango for most players.. so I don't think it should be rated a B because a lot of people consider Chango the best great axe for warrior. So, it's basically the 3rd best GA for warrior behind the empy and aeonic, i'm not 100% sure but it probably beats the mythic, and i'm nearly certain the relic Bravura is a step behind the other GA options anyways. Having a GA is still a must for a warrior, and this is one of their best and easiest options to obtain, don't think it should be knocked for not having savage blade. 3) Khonsu - C/D tier. I think for all the DD jobs on it, there are better grip options for damage, and a lot of them that aren't that hard to obtain. Also for the mage jobs on it, there are other options you can just buy for a DT set if that's what you're using it for. It's not like it's bad though, it can be a decent option if nothing better is available to you, but for me, I don't think it's worth using a pulse weapon on it when most of the others would be more beneficial to upgrade. 4) Dolichenus - S tier. I think a lot of people really sleep on this by putting it A tier, in my opinion it's probably S-minus- tier(just behind naegling and shining one). I might be a little biased because I love axe warrior, and farsha was my first empyrean so I could use an axe warrior fencer build a few years back. But when dolichenus came out and I obtained it, it just made axe warrior so much easier and smoother to play. Like you said in the video, great axe weapon skills for warrior are a little meh right now, they aren't absolutely terrible, but can be beat by other options in some scenarios. One of those scenarios being a well geared dolichenus 1k tp decimation spamming warrior. The advantage of using dolichenus is you don't have to hold tp like you do with a fencer build with naegling or farsha or something, you just go nuts right when you get 1k tp. Decimation is extremely easy to gear for warrior as well, so I think this is a great entry level weapon for warrior, as well as being competitive with all other options warrior has(including fencer naegling, GA warriors, shining one, etc). Also, it's a good option for BST as well!

Hey just wanted to say thank you to all those that have been sharing and making this a successful video, After reading most of the feedback I've seen I'm still pretty happy with where I ranked everything, I did consider shifting the scale to between S and B tier with A+ and B+ with the exact same order to emphasize these are all good weapons, calling some of them D tier is a little unfair to them given they all have uses. I like how people have been pointing out uses for specific jobs I didn't mention
Drepanum is fun and when used properly has the potential to out do Savage Blade spam. However, until you can Spiral Hell at 3k TP every WS Savage Blade wins. The white damage on Drepanum is amazing on high Def mobs (Dynamis-D Bastock). I know my friends get sick of me saying it but I'm still waiting for SE to add a 1k TP bonus waist for the heavy armor jobs.
This video has got some great information in it, thank you, genuinely! And also, people complaining about comparing to Naegling: yes there are other options, but this is bang-for-buck here. His placements are based by comparison and that’s how they should be. Blame SE for the over-centralization, not him. That being said, where tf did you learn how to say “Dagger”? 😂
IMO Tauret best AE weapon for PUP/Sub for DNC and COR since not on Malevolence, other jobs get path A SU5 with Kraken Club sub , Path B with Malevolence sub, THF Path C for trash mobs and sub another SU5 if want TH 8 AE or 2 Malevolence. for the rest. It is better if can't afford to spend hundreds of millions.
I think you had a swing and a miss on Maxentius. I don't understand placing it below the scythe. You even mention in your wrap-up that the scythe is a good hold-over until you get a REMA option. Maxentius is still good well after getting REMA weapons. It's the best off-hand blu nuking weapon, the best dps weapon for many of the jobs listed on the weapon due to the black halo buff (sure, they're not typically dps jobs - whm, geo, etc), and one of the best nuking options for many of the jobs on the weapon. Sure, bunzi's rod exists, so it's not THE best nuking weapon - but you could make the same argument about drepanum vs REMA weapons for DRK. Maxentius definitely has more utility for way more jobs than a scythe that is a holdover weapon for 1 job.
Cool video. Essential watching for a returnee player. Also if looking to dps on Odyssey farm as WAR can't go far wrong with Naegling, Shining One and Karambit (or maxed Luxotic Mace +1) you have a solid set up.
... Not everyone wants to spam Savage Blade on every job they play. Homogeneity is boring. I'd like to see a tiered list of Ambuscade weapons where for the sake of sticking within the job's theme we pretend Naegling doesn't exist.
I agree, that was my only gripe with this video, he was comparing everything to Naegling too much.. I get it though, Naegling is THE META right now, and it's a strong option for the jobs that can use it, but it's not the only option!
The point of this video is not a niche use case such as using the weapon entirely for an m.acc buff to land enfeebles rather than a weapon for doing damage. The bow is BIS for that slot for that job for that non-dps use, but a terrible weapon in the purpose it was made for.
Naegling is actually really effective on Drk provided you have solid accuracy. It doesn't beat out calad in raw power, but for dark knights that just got apoc and want a weapon on the side that does a ton of damage (without spending an arm and a leg) - the Naegling is amazing.
All good stuff man keep making videos but just to be clear all WS in this game can crit even if it doenst have it natively. this was tested only fairly recently but in order for any WS to crit u must be wearing a piece of gear that gives crit chance on it. also it seems that your own chance to crit will not be added to the WS in ether case using Shining one and or gear
@@KoiAquaponics Both are needed to play properly. The higher tier is pretty much guaranteed to land if the lower tier is already on.
