great video , at the end you said "sometimes it's best to sand it and re-clear it" . what are you sanding? the main color? or do you clear coat, sand it then re-clear it? thanks
If the edges are too sharp and too raised, and it will take some time to wetsand flat and buff, sometimes it's easier , just to sand the clear flat (or very close to it), then reclear again
@@scottf4249 thank you, love your work. I've watched some of your other videos, I pray all is well with your wife Jody, I tried to write you back but I couldn't keep it together, my 24-year-old son is fighting terminal cancer for 3 years now, I just want you to know we're praying for you, and Jody. godspeed
So very sorry to hear. Cancer, and the journey is horrible. Her father also died of Glioblastoma at 60 (Jody is 57). He was gone in 2 months. They said 2 months for Jody if she didn't have radiation/chemo. But now she can't walk on her own and has some other issues. As you already know, It's an absolutely grueling process and hard to watch and go through. 3 years is amazing! Prayers for you and your son.
What is that little line from were you taped it I saw it I'm sure no one else saw it I didi it for 30 years that not exceptible with me .I would do it all over your going to hide it with clear I know I'm better then you .
Oh, you mean the spacer tape. I use that to make sure the spacing between the the 2 stripes are perfect. That gets removed before the basecoat. I'm not for sure what you meant by "I didi it for 30 years that not exceptible" (maybe you meant acceptable??)
Thank you so much for making this video. This answers so many questions I had. - can I use this method for something larger like an emblem? I am currently working on an old Honda sport bike. I want the tank emblem to be paint instead of vinyl. Can I use this method with a vinyl stencil and then peel the stencil off?
Yes, most certainly. I've done that quite a few times. Spray the side of the tank in the color you want the logo, add the stencil over the area, spray the base on the tank, peel the stencil off and there you have your logo. The only time I would not recommend doing the logo first is if the base of the parts will be a tri-stage.
That looks like it pulled out the Harley dealer. I always liked these color combo. You nailed it
I always liked the 'copper', root beer type colors to. Hence my '66 Suburban 😉
That first tape was wicked ...looked so smooth ....
We're not worthy. ...

Can you replicate a tribal flames custom paint job from another bike?
Possibly. I'd need to see. It's always best to go straight to the horses mouth though.
looks like same color as my 2008 cvo anniversary springer
Kind of close...EXPENSIVE paint you have there. Nice color in the sunlight.
If you were interested how could someone contact you about painting an Ultra Classic 2 tone front fender and fairing? Thanks
Hi Dave, anyone can contact me through my website. My shirt has my business name on it.
What wrong with doing it by hand
It's light need to be darkened a little I can see it on here
