Suddenly I don't feel well
This game is still really fun, and I still play it quite often, but I think we shouldn't just say, "This game is revolutionary and did so much for gaming" and therefore automatically calling it one of the greatest, which is something Ocarina of Time suffers from as well. Not hating on the game, I love it, but we should judge the game by its own merits, not by what was feasible in 1996 or nostalgia.

Honestly this will probably be one of my favorite games of all time I got a N64 for my birthday this year and the 1st game I got was Mario 64 and I instantly got a hang of the controls and I noticed that they actually somewhat managed to get the reflection on things right and make it look a bit more realistic
I have not met a single person who doesn’t like this game.

Pyro Talks Animations Yh because they could’ve time travelled it’s no excuse. Lol it’s one of the best Mario games. It just oozes so much charm compared to most other Mario games. I’m not saying the others aren’t great games because most of them are some of my favourite games. But this one is just so different and nostalgic in design that it has a special place for me

Love how the game can be summarized in about 6 minutes, felt i like i just played the whole game while watching this video.
I never played this as a kid, but a friend of mine did. She used to think that Wario was Mario's main antagonost and got super disappointed when she found out that the final boss was "some kind of dragon".
I guess "obey Wario, destroy Mario" really stuck with her!

Its mindblowing to me that this game can be so limitless. The game can be beaten: as fast as 7 minutes from startup, without pressing the jump button and provide one of the most enjoyable experiences in gaming history. Depending on the person, an entire playthrough can take anywhere between 6 years to a mere 2-hour session. There's a reason why its the most common game in speedrunning, rom hacks, and I would even argue, people's childhoods.

A few things that you mentioned (like mario saying "Hello" at the press start screen, or when mario talks in his sleep) are sadly not included in the Japanese version. Unless if you are playing the shindou rumble pak update, where they decided to use the american voice clips for the ones that werent in the original japanese version. Mind blowing indeed
