Gloom Room with the Roaring Roadster is a complete scene unto itself. During quarantine I spent months recreating the whole city of New Orleans… this will go right on Frenchman St. Great review.
I've seen Lemax at Michaels for many years but never purchased and now your videos are making me want to buy some. I'm fighting the urge because if you buy one then it's quite possible many more will follow haha.
It's much better seeing with light and sound then the picture of it when. It was released, has that downtown vibe I see it pairing well with the Cypt Casno l
Great review. This was my must have peice this year and it's gorgeous. I totally agree with the soundtrack though. I would have preferred just music like Graveyard Party! I love that soundtrack. Honestly I don't run the soundtracks for my peices usually though bc I set my village up in my dining room and run it while we are eating or watching movies. The only one I usually run is Graveyard Party
I also bought this piece. My wife and I love it. I'm going to put it on a Halloween town/village along with last year's brewery. Great review as always Doug!
I love this piece. I did a 1920s themed Murder Mystery party a few years ago and I was excited to see this piece. My wallet isn't happy with the price though 😞This is another piece that I'm gonna have to wait for one of those elusive 40% off coupons in order to get it. If I don't get it this year, that's ok. There's always next year.
This is such a fun piece! I just love it. It's very unique. The lights and all the details are on point here for sure! I love the music to it. And I don't mind the talking so much. But I do wish it was only a option and then you could change it to just the music after .lol I know that's too complicated but would be cool. This is definitely a piece I hope to add to my village. I do think this is a fantastic piece though and I hope people who create a NOLA scene with bars and clubs etc will put them up on YT. So I bought this piece and love it! However I can’t return it due to my Michaels being out of stock….ONLY issue is one of the people that is glued in the rotating dance floor came off and you can not take the plexi top to fix it! I’ve just shook him to the corner and have just dealt with it but I would love to hear anyone recommendations on fixing it or if I should just return it?
Hi again dog it’s Tim Fremuth and I do on the gloom room got it for an incredible low price of only $65 at Michael’s and that’s even including my 6% sales tax so I did really well using a voucher as well as going back to a different Michael’s to explain how I lost a $10 voucher when I returned Agatha‘s‘ and was treated extremely nicely by the employee when they just decided to give me a 65% discount instead of trying to re-apply the $10 voucher . I really wholeheartedly agree with your comment on the soundtrack I think it definitely should’ve just been all the New Orleans jazz music and it was really would’ve set the piece off tremendously I believe the talking is very distracting and it is counterproductive to the enjoyment of the piece such that I do not even use the soundtrack and try to find different pieces to go next to it which have a pleasant soundtrack. Or even do not have another piece next to it put it in a space where just a wonderful strobe lighting which I believe is the phenomenal highlight of this piece sets the mood for the room and really is a tremendous visual accompaniment to whatever else is going on as I have never seen such wonderful strobe lighting including a brilliant Dancefloor on a Michaels exclusive Lemax building. Since it is not a true Halloween piece I believe I’m going to use it more just for party atmosphere perhaps birthday parties or the intervening time. Between Halloween and Christmas as a nice visual strobe lighting to the room and then since I was able to obtain the piece at such an unbelievably low price it seems like a wise decision to retain the piece and do not try to sell it on eBay for what it is currently running which is close to $200 . I would certainly appreciate any guidance you have on the score since I am retired with my wife and we’re on a fixed income and we have limited space but at this point I believe the total number of Lee Maxx houses is going to be maxed out at four pieces perhaps only three pieces if I return the head stone Mill brewery which goes very nicely with its soundtrack next to this gloom room. Again thanks for your insightful reviews and your wonderful personable and friendly and professional presence that you project in all of your reviews. Take care. Cool piece & love the 20s jazz vibe. Agreed, soundtrack would be better w/out talking. Too much strobe... not Halloween for me--would rather have something the gas lighting in New Orleans' French Quarter.
yup, definitely would of been better without the talking. Would of also been cool if you could see inside the bottom, perhaps have more dancing zombies inside with a band on stage.

Use your own small Bluetooth speaker and add your own music. I do wish the lights were a little bit slower and matched to some kind of beat. These seem to flash frantically. But I love the animation.
Totally agree that it should just play sounds and music with no talking so you can keep it playing on a loop. The talking is annoying on the pieces , but here it covers the music which is what should be the focus.
Love the piece! It was not on my list that's why it may have come shipped in the outer box with the shipping label and tape all over it. So, it will be exchanged again since the lights on the sign on top only has one light, I see it supposed to have three. Knew it had been returned when opened, the volume control plug was across the piece and the bag wasn't the usual with the handles to lift it out of the box. I like the soundtrack it may or may not be played.

Good review but I think I'll pass on this one. The strobe-type lighting is a bit much for me. Might go nice next to the Zombie Jazz Cafe.
