This is great. I used to collect these. As a point of interest, the animatronics on the old oles were insane. The old House of Wax, Dracula's Castle, Mausoleum, The Lighthouse of Doom... they all have like 6 or 7 different moving characters or elements. I still have them all in storage. Very cool stuff.
I have the first year, no animatronics. Plus the next 4/5 years til I ran out of room.
It is so amazing to see two older people on TH-cam continuing to live the lifestyle they love and not caving in to any pressure to ‘conform’ and start living as society expects ppl to at a certain age. These guys are just living and loving exactly as they did their whole lives, and this is something we should ALL be doing, no matter what we may be into. Life is for living your dreams. Also this is one of the most interesting channels I’ve seen in a long time 😊

Love Spooky Town! I started collecting a few years ago and let myself buy 1 maybe 2 pieces a year when Micheals does their 30% off sale on them. Always excited to add to the town.
When you said Trick R Treating with your pillow case....that hit hard. The memories :) also we walked everywhere. Never took the car.

I immigrated to Europe 6 years ago and Halloween is the biggest thing I miss about the USA.

I built a pretty big Lemax Halloween display several years ago for trick or treat in my carport. The kids that came by were mesmerized by it. Super fun!

I'm definitely checking out Halloween depot today after work,I went to Wal-Mart yesterday and they had some Halloween stuff already, I got excited !!
I was a kid in the seventies. We went to the drugstore and picked out those vinyl costumes which were hot as hell to wear and you never wore them again. In the eighties, I'd lie in a coffin, stuff my costume with newspaper to trick the treaters in thinking I was fake, and jump out at the right opportunity. (As a side note, high school kids were more frightened than younger kids). Happy Halloween Grimmlife!
Well you two are just adorable. That looked like such fun. I haven't seen those in the U.K. just as well I suppose, I have too many scary toys already but I would love any or all of those. I am about to start on all my Halloween makes, pumpkin headed dolls and painted fans this year I think.

Our tradition is to buy Wyatt one house and a few accessories every year. Our Spooky Town is quite large and awesome now!
I love this. Each year it grows and creates something cool as heckins.
Holloween was my favorite holiday growing up. Our house was all decked out and we had this long driveway where we would hang decorations on the trees.

That is a great idea! Shelves all around the room along the wall, depending on your space. When you walk in the room, it might even feel you are walking into a creepy little miniature world, which would be fun 🎃 If it is a guest room, you can cover any furniture or items not in use in black sheets, so that the village is the main decor when you walk in.

I got a little teary eyed. As a little girl, I always dreamed of having a Halloween village in my house. As an adult, in building it over the years. It's so exciting to get a new piece every year. Mine may not be all Lemax, but I love it. I could hear the love in your voices.

I really liked how the camera moved around from one display to another showing the detailed work in each item. I'm surprised that everything was completed and organized all in one afternoon! I would love to have something like that in my living room, for sure :)

Your town turned out so cute! Every time I go to Michaels during Halloween I go and look at all the different buildings and accessories. Living in Canada though everything is super expensive. This also now makes me want to watch the Halloweentown series.

I remember Trick or Treating in the 70s and 80s. Homemade costumes are the best I think. Everyone was unique and some were downright frightening! No cookie cutter costumes from Wal Mart. Well done on Spooky Town.

Goodness! While putting up fall decorations and trying to harness myself from putting up Sooky Town, this shows up on TH-cam. I'm right there with you about the yearning to buy this stuff as a kid but we couldn't afford it. I'm making up for it now and have been collecting since 2007. Glad you're living your dream. BTW, packing those pieces in the box can be a doozy. Good luck

My sister gifted me “Esmeralda the Great” as a bday gift. I absolutely love it!! Also, she got it for me in remembrance of our mom who tricked & scared the neighborhood kids with the same idea of a levitation spell. 🤣 First time I saw the neighbor bully run for her life!🤣Funny AF!! Also, every year, I treat myself to a new piece to add to my village collection. ❤
A modern day duo one-upping or overtaking what has been ruled by Svengoolie, Michael and Jessica embody today's fascination with horror and spooky and eerie and the unexplainable. I'd pay to watch a weekly show with you two a'la MST3K + Elvira + Ancient Aliens + road trip footage + behind-the-backdrop insider horror creator secrets. Instead of rubber chickens, maybe rubber baby dolls with missing eyes and jet black hair and tattered gossamer gowns. We need to start a GOFUNDME, or a campaign reel shopped to streaming companies!
Ps: they need to make a graveyard set where a few graves are disturbed, coffins opened, floaty ghosts, dead trees hanging over the mausoleum...
Most definitely used a pillowcase, they hold more candy. Our neighborhood had 17 kids and we all went together every year (our parents worried a lot less!). Those are some of my best memories!
Growing up in 80’s was the best times of my life. Your town is like the Gina Davis & Alec Baldwin set up from Beetlejuice. Perhaps a location you may want to visit sometime.
I went as Freddie Krueger for Halloween once back in the 80's too AND pretty much made the glove the same way as you! It was so much fun being creative and coming up with a different costume each year. Happy Halloween!
I loved spooky Town the haunted Hotel I loved also the pumbkin with fog comeing out of its mouth but it was all lovely.

Always wanted EVERYTHING from the Spooky town Michaels stores would set up every year ,still do!!.growing up my mother and grandma worked at a window treatment shop at the same plaza with a Michael's and I would be allowed to go to the other stores and when Halloween decor would appear , I'd be at that store until pretty much ran off lol
