About 50 years ago I was a jolly from Euston to Warrington, then to Earlestown for a train to Liverpool (and back to London). Unfortunately I had misread the timetable and ended up stuck on the the platform at Earlestown for two hours or more. Not so jolly! It looks a lot better today.
Its that time again as always great video starlife especially the freight catches funny enough thats the first time i saw a GBRF class 60 on a video and the first time ive seen one
I believe this is a historic spot, being the point where the Grand Junction Railway met the Liverpool and Manchester in the 1830s. Then known as Newton Junction, the tight curves broke the crank axles of Stephenson's Planet and others, leading to the development of the 'Crewe type' locomotive with outside cylinders. Can anyone with local historical / geographical knowledge confirm this?
I had heard a lot about Earlestown being great for freight. Its a bit of a shame that the TPE 68s aren't operating on this route at present but I still thought it had enough variety for a video. I'm glad you enjoyed 😃
Hello Delvan. I'm really good thank you, I'm really happy that people are enjoying this weeks video 😀. About 4 years ago, the regulations changed with headlights meaning as long as they are bright and in a triangle formation, yellow fronts are not required. Older stock isn't affected by this so they can continue being used. I like a good yellow front, I think it makes the train look more appealling 🚄. Thanks for asking and commenting, its a great question!
@@bowlerstuff9589 Ok but how comes its got Merseyrail colours whilst none of their trains don't stop at Earlestown. But Class 777s are due to come into service very soon as they are dual voltage.
@@Andrewjg_89 It has Merseyrail colours because it is on the Merseyrail City line which is run by Northern. So no Merseyrail trains stop as they are run my Northern.
Hello FusionZenFlame, I have yet to visit Newcastle. Its quite far north from home base so it will require a fair amount of travelling unless I am already in the area. I hope to film there before the end of the year. Thanks for watching 😃
The only actual England only services are the Liverpool&Crewe-Chester services, the Manchester-North Wales services for some reason are now split in Chester
Nice shots of the class 319
Thank you Railway Honza. The 319s still look out of place in the north. They will always be old Thameslink trains 😉
This Station Is Lucky Because It Gets Transport For Wales
Great video! Brilliant variety there lovely to see some biomass trains and a light 66! But brilliant catch of the 60!
Many thanks Jacob! If the TPE 68s were running it would of been even better! 😃
Great video! Earlestown is a great place!
It certainly kept me on my toes! I had to do a fair amount of running to capture everything 😂
This Reminds Me of Shipley Station In Bradford in terms of How the platforms are Arranged
Very good video again, thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it TransSpotting Ldn! 😃

Next episode can you do trains at New cross gate
A station with ‘Cross’ in its name is coming 😃
Nice railway video
Thank you very much Imperialist!
Nice, do trains at Lancaster in the future
I would love too.. but its so far north from home! I do need to record some 397s so you may get your wish as soon as next month :)
@@StarlifeStudios Nice to hear! The 397s are lovely trains!
Hello, how are you? Why don´t some have a yellow front?

A station that is served by Merseyrail but Northern trains serve the station and TransPennine Express trains pass through.
Merseyrail dont stop here.

@@StarlifeStudios yea I first asked in April and you should check my Newcastle video Out :D
Why are freight/light locos usually very early?
Good vid
Thanks Sam 😃
Great 😊
Have you tried Skipton?
I haven't, do you think I should? 😉
Good stuff as always though as a Scotsman I'm wondering why Transport for Wales is running trains wholly within England!
The only actual England only services are the Liverpool&Crewe-Chester services, the Manchester-North Wales services for some reason are now split in Chester
Absolutely! It’s the equivalent of Newcastle being the centre of ScotRail trains. Madness. Thanks for supporting me always David 😃
