Short lives def matter, however shortening clothes is usually easy while lengthening often impossible. As a 5'10" who has long struggled to even find long sleeved women's clothes that fit at all, I applaud newer sizes with sympathy for the easy alterations shorties will sometimes require henceforth.

I live in the UK and read something years ago that it’s common in countries like Spain for people to alter clothes they buy, which is why shops like Zara and Mango sell such long trousers. I checked with some of my Spanish friends and they said this is true. I’m only 5’4” so this drives me mad but I guess it’s good to have options.

Learning to hem is SO so easy. It will change your life. People used to always have to alter their clothes in some way, all clothes bought from the store were expected to have to be tailored a bit to fit properly. It opens up your world to any pant if you can hem them super simply at home.
