I wish also to thank you that you’ve put the right socket size ( 27mm ) I just went to a shop to buy one cuz I didn’t had home and wasn’t sure which size I need. Then I opened the video and found it !
I did this last night. Only thing is, i used an old tray from my oven cooker and it wasnt big enough to hold the oil. I made a right mess on my driveway lmao. I put sand over the spillage and have to clea it yp today. Thanks for the vid though. Easy job.
Surely you should recheck the level of new oil after running the motor a few minutes as the new oil will have refilled the filter housing and lowered the dipstick level?
Great video I have a question when you change the oil filter after you drained the oil why the cartridge of the filter still has oil in it is there some type of valve that controls oil for lifters?
You know the oil the first one does it have to say SAE 10W40 on the bottle ? I got some 10W40 fully synthetic is it the wrong one ? I hope not it was 20 for 2 lt 😢😂
It should be fine but It's not recommended to mix different types of oil (syntethic with mineral oil etc.). I would advise draining the oil and filling it up entirely using one type of oil.
@@screwsnutsandbolts I was thinking the same thing and the oil in is nearly black too so iv got rhe haynes manual and I'm going to get a filter and then do a oil and filter change. Thank you for this recommendation.
Great video but theres no way I would trust myself haha to do this but at least I know what my mechanic will do when I ask him for a change of oil and oil filter.

It's usually down at the bottom left of the oil filter housing. It could be obscured by another sensor wiring and it can be hard to see if it's covered in oil and dirt.
This kind of filters are stupidest. Best filters are those, places on down part of engine, when you unscrew, it doesnt drop on your engine. This shit will make mess. closed metal filters are much better than this replaceable shit. French never made a car, thats simple to maintain.
Dude, your better than any garage... And saved me a lot of money,... Merci, Gracias, Danke, Dankjewel

Nice video. Another tip is to remove the oil filter with the drain plug out. When you remove the filter, normally some oil will be released
Thanks for the tip 👍
You should put a certain amount of new oil in the filter container to prevent the bushes from working without pressurized oil when starting.
Gracias a tus videos realizo la mecanica y el servicio yo mismo ahorro dinero con esta maquina saludos 😊

Would you be able to do a video showing the cigarette lighter fuse and running a power tap off that for say some USB ports? Thanks!
I don't do that sort of thing, sorry :)

Great video I have a question when you change the oil filter after you drained the oil why the cartridge of the filter still has oil in it is there some type of valve that controls oil for lifters?
Most filters have some sort of check valve to stop the oil draining out of the filter so the engine gets oil immediately when you start it.
@@screwsnutsandbolts THANKS mine doesnt do that is 206+ 1.6 gasoline i think i might have to check that.
Thankyou. Next time I'll change oil filter by myself

@@screwsnutsandboltsa reci mi koji kljuc koristis za odvijanje srafa na karteru naziv? I koji kljuk koristis za odvijanje kucista filtera?
On the Peugeot 206 you need a 24mm socket for crankcase bolt and a 27mm socket for the oil filter cover, but they may be different on the Xsara
As a private person what do i do with old oil?
You can bring it to a local recycling centre. They should take it without charge

The video description clearly states 2002 to 2009 Peugeot 206 1.1, not the 2001 model

Location of oil filter differs from one engine size to another
What cc engine is this and year
It's a 2004 1.1 liter petrol engine
@@screwsnutsandbolts can I ask does the same engine but a 1.4 use same oil filter tia
@@sparkyt6497 yes. Everything is the same except for the amount of oil in the system
Is 5W30 also okay?
I would only use the recommended oils shown at 7:34 in the video
So 5W40 would be better?
Yes, 5W40 is fine
For the 1.9d engine - 4.75 litres
Can you help me brother
