- I filmed some lightning bolts and I've put them back to back, the thunder is not the original sound because I didn't record any sound. They are @ 1/4 speed.
Filmed with a GoPro HERO HD3 @ 1080p 60fps

Very impressive Martijn. Do you happen to be a fellow Ostend citizen (like me) or were you only passing by? I happen to be an Ostend citizen with also an interest in photograpy and timelapse. Nice to meet you online :-)
Also interested in what editing / montage software you used? Is this standard Go Pro editing or did you use another package for final editing? Maybe a dumb question because I don't own a Go Pro so not sure in how far the standard Go Pro software can produce something like this.

Hey I have a question. I just got a Gopro hero4 silver and whenever I tried to video lightning last night and when I played it back the bolts of lightning sometimes appeared but when i played it back a second time its like it wasnt there. What is wrong and what would you say the best way to capture lightning with the goPro hero 4 silver?
Bradly Hams What program did you use? I tried it @ 1080p 60fps because I think the more frames the better. I had that to sometimes but I converted the couple of second where the lightning was and then I slowed it down, then you could see them very well. (In GoPro Studio) I hope this helps you out, otherwise you can always contact me.

+My GoPro Channel I read somewhere, that 24 or 30fps is better for low light videos. And if you use 60fps or higher, it's good if you're planning to do slow motion when editing. Don't know if that's true, I'm new to this GoPro myself, I just bought a Hero 4 Silver like 2 weeks ago. I have some test videos and timelapses on my channel. :) Nothing fancy tho..
+Tipi83 For low light it's better to use 24 or 30 fps but since lightning is very fast I recommend to use as much frames as possible cuz you need to slow it down to see the lightning bolt.

Or [it is] like a rainstorm from the sky within which is darkness, thunder and lightning.
They put their fingers in their ears against the thunderclaps in dread of death but Allah is encompassing of the disbelievers.

وَيُسَبِّحُ الرَّعْدُ بِحَمْدِهِ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ مِنْ خِيفَتِهِ
And the thunder exalts [Allah] with praise of Him - and the angels [as well] from fear of Him - and He sends thunderbolts and strikes therewith whom He wills while they dispute about Allah ; and He is severe in assault.
As lightning strikes from the east and shines to the west, so shall the coming of the Son of God be!
