Wow. Got me again. Used to visit a hunting camp between Clearfield & Penfield in the summer when we were kids. Incredible memories. Maybe Gazzam someday. Thx
Hey Noles. I really enjoy content like yours. I'm a lifelong resident of Pittsburgh. I had the fortune of being employed in the service industry. That job had me going everywhere in the tri-state area. And I loved it. I had a chance to make stops in so many interesting places around the area. I'm looking forward to your videos. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for another interesting video! My dad is part of the Montour Trail, and it's so interesting to see the old rail beds and hear these stories. I'm looking forward to your next exploration!
Very interesting video. I passed under the Lackawanna Cut-Off on my way home to northern NJ last weekend. Had no idea it was such an engineering marvel until your video and have been driving under it in multiple locations for all my life.
Regarding the baseball team photo, it is interesting that half of the visible Gazzam shirts have the Zs backwards. Pittsburgh resident looking forward to more content from you.
The buildings that were dismantled in Gazzam were moved to the village of Boardman in neighboring Knox Township to be utilized there when they opened the Potts Run mines.
Your video just showed up in my feed,i live in butler pa,not to far from Pittsburgh. Just wanted to let you know i watched all the videos ,very interesting well planned and informative, im always interested in learning about western Pennsylvania, keep up the good work
Interesting. Never heard of this place even though it's only about an hour away. If you ever want to explore near Clarion PA, I'd be happy to play tour guide
Thank you, interesting vid. Trying to get into Clearfield County history but just hasn't grabbed my interest yet - this may have helped. My grandfather was born in a almost-ghost town, Emeigh, near to Cherry Tree. Being that my ancestors where located on 3 counties, it gets hard to research. Clearfield is the only one I never looked into. ...A load of old settlements in that direction that is like Gazzam. Good luck.
Check out the book I put in the description from the Clearfield Progress- it has histories of all the towns in the county, even those no longer on the map. I’ve been through Emeigh once, I thought it was pretty. Good luck in your research!
My father, grandfather and uncle worked for the New York Central in New England, Boston and Albany. I don't think there were any coal mines ever in New England, so they might have used coal from Gazzam, PA. Thank you
Hey Noles. Something you can do to improve your video, go slower on the panning, be careful not to do jerky camera moves. On sites like that a light dusting of snow can really bring out easily over look details.. Good luck, looking forward to more videos.
@@Noles.Explores Also, if you could find a way to boost your recording volume. It's so, so quiet I have to turn my speakers way up. Love your videos though! This is always very interesting and informative stuff!
