Thank you for posting this score-recording combination. I doubt I could begin to play this piece even with years of preparation. What things Rachmaninoff must have seen and experienced to create such depth of feeling, and colors. Kudos to the pianist, and composer.

Finally! The textures are a bit less pianistic but I like the original version more
I love Alessandro Mazzamuto interpretation a lot! Especially because of the passion and the fact you can hear him humming along with it throughout the movements hahahaha.
Always had played the revised version. Never seen the original. Michael Ponti also plays this well.

Love this but where did you find the first recording? I can't seem to find a Rach plays Rach recording of this piece anywhere except here and it's driving me crazy.
It's Kocsis playing not Rachmaninoff himself. Rachmaninoff never recorded any of his sonatas, only the concertos and some smaller solo pieces.
This score is henle urtext editions?
