@@saturdayswarriorbyu In order for BYU football to establish itself as "the best program to prepare young men for the "NFL,"" BYU is going to need Coach Andy Reid who has won three Super Bowl Championships since 2017. I am not suggesting that BYU try and hire Coach Reid as the head coach. But, having someone like Coach Reid participating in skillset development and recruiting would certainly enhance the football program as much as what the basketball program is experiencing. Coach Keven Young is certainly setting a high standard for the rest of the athletic department at BYU to follow.

I love that idea, but KY is not equal to Andy Reid (at least not yet 😁). I think seeing the same mindset from the coaching staff and proportionate financial resources going to the program (maybe they already are, but that's not how I'm reading it) will go a long way.

Honest question. Why are the boosters/ NIL donors seemingly out in full force now that KY is there? What was different with Pope when he was there?

I do not know, and I'm guessing we won't get the answer. Not sure if there was something against Pope or since Ryan Smith helped land KY, he wants to put him in a good a position as possible.

Here I am, a BYU alumni (during the Ainge, McMahon, Wilson era) who then did grad school at Illinois (Mike White, Lou Henson flying Illini era).

I think that Egor and his parents landed with BYU for reasons other than NIL.

Correction per Travis Hansen it was not all about $ in fact BYU did NOT offer more. Please do homework before reporting…

First, we're not reporting anything. Second, I listened to those same comments from Hansen. The comments Ryan made are the same ones being said in a lot of places. I figured he'd say that. I didn't feel the need to interrupt him to make that point (maybe i should have) and forgot to circle back. At the end of the day, Demin is going to BYU and there's lots to be excited about.
