    Lyrics:
    Dear Brother,
When you gonna call back your mother?
Thinks you’re sleeping in the gutter
We both know you can do better
And when you gonna write your older brother
A letter .. “Hey man, I miss you, getting my shit together.”
And for the record I wrote this note as a reminder
Hermano mío there’s a future we can believe in
Gonna take more than songs of justice and freedom, yeah
There’s a future, you can believe in
Gonna take more than songs of justice and freedom
    Freedom, yeah
And if you’re thinking about leaving
Hold my hand over stand this too can be your kingdom
Blessed and when the rain comes
Put your hands in the dirt baba this is where you came from
This is where you came from. This is where you came from. This is where you came from.
System’s broken no fucks given - wealthy people living off the backs of the broken
Dreams of America. Dreams of America
Need a pipe carrier, let me smudge you off so the vision can get clearer
Your mother’s crying boy, can you hear her?
You gotta put down the weight.
You gotta get out of your way.
You gotta put down the weight.
You gotta get out of your way.
    Dear lover,
You can find me on the front lines covered
In the blood and tears of another brother, sister, mother
Revolutions being broadcast on Facebook and Twitter
There’s a noise. I can hear it when the megaphone roars.
Wipe the tears from this tear gas. Choice.
    You have a choice.
Stand in front of your fear, baby, time to find your voice.
It's a story, a love story - we can believe in
Death, birth, your life’s worth, its trending.
    Story, a love story
How vain are we to expect a happy ending?
I got my hands up. Follow directions, still they shoot us.
I'm fucking sick and tired of no justice. No peace.
Promise me I’ll never pick your body off the streets
We’re all taking heat here - oh, the trust is broken, I don’t get these police! Disenfranchised, step into a new life.
Baby, if you listen to the wind there's a war cry: “Peace in America! Peace in America!"
Be decent America. Let me smudge you off so the vision can get clearer. Your mother’s crying, can you hear her?
What I see in you. A young tree bearing fruit.
Place to start. Don’t hide behind your heart.
You gotta put down the weight.
You gotta get out of your way.

I can see it in grandma’s eyes
My ancestors wildest dreams, we survived genocide
This goes out to all the young souls that never made it
Promise me I’ll never pick your body off the pavement (never)
Rematriate the land that they’ve taken
    The water they’ve poisoned
    My people been praying
    For peace
Hands up don’t mean they won’t shoot
    Uniting at the borders
    A generation facing the truth
    Se acabo el silencio
Bullets fly by raining in the night time yuh
Round the world tribes gather as the tides rise
Put down the weight my love this is our time
What I see in you. A young tree bearing fruit.

This song is amazing. I loved it with guitar and horn, but this version is incredible. Nahko, I discovered your music in my darkest time and your lyrics taught me to be happy again. If you ever wonder if you're making a difference, believe me, you are. I can't wait to take my family to see you in concert again.

I too discovered Nahko in some of the darkest days of my life.
"Now I’m not being dramatic, enemies don’t sleep
In fact some aren’t human and that’s hard to believe
Cause I’m such a visual person, my third eye don’t lie
He’s a wise guy inside, even fooled himself twice
Thinking maybe I’m not ready to be leading the way
I mean, fuck, I’m only human, bound to make some mistakes
An earthquake took place within my lifetime of fear
I hear this too shall pass, the beginning is near"
Just one segment of so many that eased the strain.
      🙏💙☝️✌

Much love for your music. Its been a needed tug on the inner spirit to become more brave when the child within wants to remain hidden. Intertwined souls and forces that help one another break those chains that fear put on us believing we had no choices

Absolute truth and beauty put into music, Nahko you are a hero to many. We loved you in Brisbane, Qld Man can't wait for you to come back you are my hero and to so many others. I can't express how happy I am to see Nahko and Xiuhtezcatl working together. I went to the Bioneers (organic and bio- engineering) Conference in 2015 and heard Xiuhtecatl speak and sing there. The work he has been doing to combat climate change is incredibly awe-inspiring. Best of all, he is a kid!! Go Nahko!! Thank you my Brothers, for taking the reins on this most important fight, the most important battle of humanity's history.

It's absurdly hard to pick "favorite" songs by you guys but this is up there in my top five for sure. I loved the live version at Red Rocks 2019 too. My wife and I tried to boil our favorites down to three songs each and we couldn't do it. We kept thinking of other songs that should be in the top three and it ended up being a top ten list.
Love you. I'm happy for your journey.

From what I read in his book. They broke down on the way to Alaska. Not sure if he's seen him sense then. I hope he has. We all have a journey to walk. And that means different paths we can't all follow the same path. Otherwise we would be zombies. Monkey see monkey do. I have an older brother who saved my life when I OD on a lot of bad medicine. Let's just say it's a miracle I am here. My brother found me right when I was about to leave. He said I couldn't breathe my face was turning blue I flat lined twice. 3 days in a coma. And God woke up me up disguised as the Devil in like a million little devil's that made one big face. It laughed at me. And I woke up instantly. To anyone who wants to leave. Put down the weight and get out of your way.

"We both know you can do better" - yeah, brother Nahko. We all know you can do better. Start with stronger accountability for all of the young women's lives you have impacted negatively with your poor behaviour.
    Put down that weight.

Nahko never did that it’s prob from some person that’s a hater that’s lying to try to ruin his career

    • @discordantfungi2741

@@SukunaBlawg some person? There are numerous people who have come out about his inappropriate behaviour and sexual abuse. Many of the musicians who he tours and plays with have made public acknowledgement of this issue. A mans career is not worth protecting over and above the people who are hurt by that mans behaviour, sorry.

I would like to understand your perspective but when you hide behind a fake name and probably a fake picture it's hard to talk to someone about what you think is wrong with them and about how they have been wrong or desecrated other human beings and honestly what do you even know about me have you even ever met me what can we do to change this together would you like to talk about it? cuz honestly I would like to know what you mean and how you feel and what drives you to the point of distracting other people's life so you can make other people better movement of negativity and that's all it is I'm not attacking you I'm just speaking from the heart I hope you understand these things have a great day.

Big accusations about Nahko regarding being a perv. I hope he announces something.
