Restoration Rusty Old Billhook

- Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project. This old rusty billhook I found at flea market. The surface of tool was very rusted. This billhook is also called a corn axe. Well, time to restore it!
Restoration process:
First I used electrolysis process for remove rust and dirty, then I used anglegrinder machine via iron brush. For handle, I chose old piece of nut wood and via lathe wood machine sharpened the handle for my new axe tool. For handle, I used also linseed oil. To connect handle and shank I used a lot of epoxy glue. Bolster I made of brass, also added lining of leather. Finally I sharpened it and made interesting test for you. A billhook is a very underestimated tool in my opinion they are a great tool to have.

My friend you need to step up your game now. Make something from scratch, do something different. Your wood turning skills are getting good. Maybe craft a piece of furniture... you could find old pallets or something and turn it into a table for that lathe.Something different, we know you're capable of saving just about any blade, at least putting it back to work if not making it fancy. woh needs a fancy billihook anyway? Surprise us with something different at least once in a while.
