My line of thinking on caliber is there are enough tried and true calibers all the new ones don't offer enough to justify the cost
I'm 67 still working ,looking at retirement
My discretionary income will shrink
I have been reloading for 44 yrs
Don't want to.make the additional
Investment

I Reload, and have noticed a significant Price increase in powder on some sites. LR Primers are still non-existent, and projectiles are getting Higher. I almost bought Lapua .308 Palma Brass just because it uses SR Primers.
Thanks for watching!
grafs have large rifle primes in unis ginex 549.00 for 5000
Good info, short and to the point. Rock on man.
Thanks for watching
Good show . Been Watching prices and what's out there for a while. Long list of calibers for nice guns becoming what I think of as legacy calibers. would you consider them in the future ?@@FitnFire
Always open to suggestions
I found fairly decent prices at Range Usa, and they usually have good bulk deals, too. But if I go to the Midwest shooting, their prices 5 to 10 dollars more. When I can get it, I go with reloads.
Right on…thanks for watching
I find the best selection and price is on line…
Naturally, however can’t or won’t shop online and this is a data point for what is out there.
Buy bulk and not from box stores..
Thanks for watching
Call me a novice but what are the best 5.56 and 9mil brands? I’m new to the game but I like learning the markets. Norma and Federal seem to have the best prices on PSA. Wolf ammunition and PMC are also ones on lucky gunner. PSA has the ammo categorized for self defense or range use, does any of that matter? I’d love y’all’s take.
@@bert3566
There's sites u can go to that'll have them cheaper. WITH free shipping and all no taxes.
I can get 1000 of 9mm for 230$ shipped to my door. Brass and brand new. I spend more in defense rounds than plinking ammo.
@@bert3566J.F.G.I.
Haven’t had any issues buying ammo in the Sandusky and Cleveland Ohio areas. We have a store called fins feather and fur and they always have ammo in stock.
Geez!! Those are some crazy prices even for California
I'm in Academy on the regular, those prices have definitely crept up.
That’s what I’ve seen too but seemingly it has maintained the same. I’m using this as a benchmark moving forward.
@@FitnFire If 2020 was any indicator, Academy's pricing will move a lot more slowly than other places.
@@jimb65536 valid point
Nice to see ammunition is not locked up like in komifornia.
Liked and subscribed because of this video. More pricing updates please!
Working on the March’s update
Went to a gun show the other day and ammo was through the roof there. Did find some deals on .22 but for 9mm, 556, and .45 I'll buy online. Long as you get a few 100 rounds it's way cheaper and get free shipping!
Have you checked wall mart? In Ohio the last couple of years the federal auto 22 is always $22 a box and cci $9.
Our Walmart is mainly hunting calibers and shotgun loads
I was just at a local firearms and ammo dealer and they had plenty of 22lr as well as other calibers and the prices were no higher than usual.
Good to hear…thanks for that data point
@@FitnFire
But,I'm sure there are certain things to take into consideration when it comes to ammo pricing, like the dealer and state,I live in Indiana which is still very conservative when it comes to the second amendment, but other states run by liberals are going out of thier way to make life miserable for gun owners, proposing high taxes and even background checks on ammo purchases.
Prices are definately going up around here. Shelves look about the same, most of the personal defense stuff is gone. Rifle ammo and shotgun stuff while hit hard was still on the shelf in most calibers. Couldn't find any 45-70 govt. I appreciate you taking the time to let us know what your seeing in your area.
Florida is still good to go. Everything is plentiful even at academy sports . If you live in an area with shortages midway USA always has plenty of most cartridges. It’s out there and so far only seen a few places price gouging.
I sure am glad I live where I do. Lol I’m paying almost half of those prices. And there is no shortage of any kind.
My local Walmart has one small shelf of Ammo and it’s all priced ridiculously here in Texas.
Thanks for watching
@@FitnFire yeah We’re being invaded and ammo in Texas is scarce. Coincidence!
Only thing different around me is shelves are fully stocked. Only found one place online selling large rifle primers. Small primers are thick.
Good to hear...thanks for watching
Leave it sit on the shelves. None of these prices are good by anymeans.
Seems the prices and quantity available is the same as it is here in Central NY. Prices in Central NY actually appear to be slightly cheaper.
Doesn’t surprise me. Everything is more expensive in my town
I don’t know how I just discovered your channel just now. I thought that Academy looked familiar. Then I saw the ammo shelf. Then I was like oh shit, that’s the Academy I go to. Sending a follow.
Thanks for joining!!!! Hope you enjoy the content.
I just paid 45.99 for a box of hornady match 308bth 168gr two days ago. prices are going up.
💯
well if you need ammo or reloading supplies better get it in next 2 months . stuff comming. i spoke to a manager at our scheels and he said sheels biggest supplier of ammo and supplies has already gone 100% military contract. its happening again but forcasted to be way worse than 2020.
People make fun of 30SC pricing but I can order a box of 50 for 15 bucks online while y'all paying 50 bucks for a range pack of 380s.
If that's what you want to use, do you! But, I would rather have something that is easier to find in the long run and neither of those calibers are it. But, thanks for watching
Boy, .9mm prices there are WAY HIGHER than I’m seeing in SW Ohio! I’m able to get nearly any name brand ammo from Bass Pro from 22-27 cents a round, depending on brand. .22 seems much cheaper as well. Availability has increased in our area as well in recent months/years as well.
Good to hear! Thanks for watching
Same in wi
I'm looking for 223/5.56 and the stuff is flying off of bass pro shelves. I didn't get any word of shortage or anything.
The cheapest I remember .22 ammo was late 70s early 80s at Walmart 50 round box for 25cents.
I switched to muzzle loading due to limited supply.
I reload most of my rounds, but do buy some here and there from Underwood Ammo.
its getting really hard to find at my local sportsmans warehouse... they have everything, but I'll only a few boxes. and its like $40 9mm 'balisti-clean' or 'lead free' ammo thats 2.5× the normal price of the same caliber..
Yuck!!! I guess online ordering is the best option for you right now
Some prices seem reasonable, others not so. The Auto Match has dropped in quality lately, my go to is now the Aguila bulk & SSS 60 grain types.
Thanks for watching

At my academy, all hollowpoint and defense/specialty ammo is behind the counter. You have to ask for it. Only ball ammo on the shelves.
It was like that here too for a short period. Then the store realized they were losing sales since no one knew they had specialized ammo behind the counter.
I still have 22 lr ammo i bought for 2 cents rd. Tons more at 7 cents. I dont even glance at prices ny more . 9 mm defensive rounds are about a buck dach and i reload Hornady xtp for 40 cents. Ball ammo doesnt interest me much. Got 1500 just for emergencies
Cheaper to buy online if you buy in bulk.
Sure...this is meant to be a data point for people to reference.
Wow, I just checked today .22LR aguilar super extra online is 4-5 cents/round. And plenty out there. $82 for 2000 round box :-)
Thanks for the shout buddy. Solid video ! Next time look for primers and powder also hahahaa.. people will complain
They already did
If 10mil is best mil, why does everyone keep losing THAT socket?
Loss or stolen??? We may never know!
@FitnFire so new series...THE HUNT FOR THE 10MM SOCKET GREMLIN!
I Said goodbye to normal prices for good, the days of 9.99 Blazer brass are gone for good. My first rifle was a Savage 99 in .300 Savage, I saw a box of 20 for 69.00. Piracy.
BIG OOF!!!
Damn 40 cents per round for 9mm, sportsman’s and cabelas has cci blazer and Remington umc for around 20-30 cents per round, cabelas also has 45 Winchester white box for 35 cents per round online right now free shipping after $50
Academy has 250 rounds of 9mm for $60, thats CHEAP
Wow! Expensive stuff.
Buy online
Remington 550 rounds of .22lr in East Tennessee was $42.97. A little higher here
i live in east tn buy 325 round box of 22lr for 20 at walmart
My LGS has mostly self defense rounds. Hard to find plinking rounds.
I keep hearing you say… “not too bad” and “pretty good deal”…
5.56 ammo was .30 cents/round for DECADES and now double that price or more is a “good deal”. Not in my world.
I thank you for being informative but this topic is completely subjective.
I Like these kinds of videos. People like to compare prices!
Thanks!
Done, bought thousands of rounds from Target Sports USA. Join the club and you get free shipping and discounts on ammo! Oh and they (the ammo manufacturers) need to make 9mm ammo specifically for PCC carbines, like Speer has done, then we will talk!

Anyone shopoing for .22lr and not focusing on Aguila super extra at online shops is just throwing away money. Im still finding them for about .05 per.
Good intel…thanks

Surprisingly all of our Walmarts have a clearance on a few shotgun shell switch I rarely see them do.
Awesome! Jump on that for sure!
The .45 AARP, is that ammo for those over the age of 55? Lol.

@@christianduty3576 not familiar with underwood, never seen it sold around here
Let's do what some else already does. Great opening.
In Alaska, most things are available except People are hoarding 338 Win Mag. It is all being sold to the first buyer. It makes no sense.
Oh yeah, I can imagine that is a popular round in Alaska!
all the powder is getting shot overseas
Really?! What's going on over there?
Went to a local academy yesterday before work they were out of stock on all 9mm and 40. They had a few boxes of 556 & 223. Looking through the 308 found a box of monarch 9mm in the very back so I bought it. I don’t know if this is panic buying from people or was it due to new years happy trigger time?
I think it is a collection of multiple things. It's an election year, tensions in the 2A space is getting more heightened due to continued attacks from gun-controllers, inflation, etc etc. Best thing to do now is prepare for the worst within moderation.
F J B and F Academy never liked them
damn! they are hard ring people with those prices! glad i don;t live there. as bad as kygunco here in kentucky.
That place is a dump, boycott. They stab their employees, who are trying to be loyal, in the back.
A big box store that puts profits ahead of employees?! Shocked…SHOCKED I tell you.
@@FitnFire No, profits ahead of employees who try to stop shoplifters who are stealing guns

The Walmarts near me only sell shotgun and rifle ammo, no handgun ammo.
Wow. Your state has ripoff ammo prices compared to WI. We are commonly at ( Dunhams, Bass Pro/Cabelas, Fleet Farm, etc. ) .07-.08 cents a rd for .22LR, .25-27 cents rd for 9mm, .45-.50 cents for .223.
I bought a shit load of that federal 200 round box at dunhams a couple weeks ago on sale for like 53$ a box

They are still fairly reasonable here in tn, don't know haven wasted or shot any since the ammo disappeared when Ole orange hair was in
Like it or not, I just got notification that starting 1/15/24 there will be substantial price increases on all ammo and components. If you don’t like the price today your going to hate it tomorrow.

Especially when President Craps His Pants is proposing a 1000% sales tax on ammunition and firearms.
