Just found this channel the other day and I'm hooked! I'm gearing up to build my own mini crawler course in my basement. So far I have a mini z 4x4, scx24, trx4m. RIP bank account....
Almost bought that kit but, went with the VRD straight axle build instead and it rocks. Great build. Exocaged has a great one too. Keep up the great work too !
@@TrokaRC I have a new love for straight axles now. The VRD is awesome except you have to change out diff gears and possibly the transmission later. Theres a couple of channels that have done the build and thats what inspired mine.
Super cool ! I’m all about micros 1/24 crawlers but have been eyeing the 1/10 recently and this chassis caught my attention. But not knowing a thing about 1/10 I held back during Black Friday sales…now I may regret it 😬
@ thanks for your input ! I’ll look into the vanquish. Saw a bunch of good videos on the redcat already and it looks pretty good ! Looking at what I do with 24s, I think I’d rather build from scratch rather than spending on a rig and spending the same amount or more on upgrades and mods, but I may be wrong. like I said, I don’t really know how it goes with 1/10 and if you can be satisfied with a stock truck.
For just a little more turning you can shave the bump stops on the axle also add just a little caster. As for r the shocks traxxas 2660s with the losi mini-t springs or dravtech. I run 45-50w losi oil and they are nice and slow and predictable.
I just built a four wheel steer buggy based off an aftermarket wraith chassis. Used the meus portals with the double cardon joints. Holy crap those axles are awesome, highly recommend meus racing products.
Ah Adam, I was fingers crossed all the way through the video hoping that you would shout out my build/video but you have a lot going on, I get why you might forget. I love what you did with the build and I agree on your thinking with the MEUS Capra Iso axles that is going to be my next upgrade. Great looking rig mate, I love that body! PS If you didn't know that MEUS radio is a Hot RC CT-8A. They are super cheap on AliExpress and so far, I am loving mine!
I just heard Of Meus and got their Capra axles last night. I saw the kit but opted to pass it since I have the scx pro chassis. Looking forward to see how that goes.
I really like mine been running it for a couple of months with the meus capras a 60 kg bta servo on 4s the Capra’s are wide so I went with Amazon high offset carbon fiber wheels with smaller hubs and 4.75 tusks. I’m also running the sequre motor setup works really good on a 11/12t pinion with portals and 4s. I’m running 85mm shocks I’ve been thinking about putting my proline big bore on to test a 90mm. Also have a cliffhanger but had to cut the front fenders up high and remove the headlights to clear the capras steering angle. Body’s so low front bumper sits touching the inside of the hood.
The carbon forge chassis plates looks really good, but I drive a chassis with a 26°+ angled skid which drives better over obstacles. Personally, I think the FMM/Tcase tranny should be reserved for class 1 trail/comp rigs... using an LCG transmission would be optimal. I do like how the FMM/TCase looks, would be nice if the transfercase was smaller.
@@CapeCrawlers 26 degrees angled skid, extreme performance :) My old GSpeed v3 had 6 degrees, then I upgrade to a different chassis with 12 degrees... currently my setup has 26 degrees
Also you would get better steering if you had a stronger servo. At 13:09 you see your servo stop and the truck moves forward and the steering jerks farther
Any chance you are familiar with another meus 1/10 scale lcg chassis? I can't find a part number for it but it came with a front bumper and links. I was wondering if you had a suggestion for driveshafts for it.
@billc9635 My 2 cents: plastic is better for going over rocks. I have metal ar60 axles from injora they are good. Just need to locktite everything and add grease. If you want portal axles capra axles. If you want to change out gears find an axle housing that offers gears. I get alot of my stuff from ebay sellers here local aswell.
@TrokaRC I've got metal injora portal axles and plastic ar44 axles available for the chassis. It just requires an extremely short driveshaft for the front. Was considering getting the meus cvd shafts but was worried with the wicked angle this thing is creating they might just bind up.

Cliffhanger body looks great! Good work sir!
Man I really like it. Wish I had the knowledge and time and money to build something like this 👌
Love the Toyota body
Originally came for 1/24 scale content but have since moved to 1/10 scale stuff myself so it’s super awesome to see you do 1/10 stuff!!
1/10 stuff is next level! Still love the small scales but boy the 1/10’s are great
👍
MEUS stepping up their game. I see a few things I dont like. But it's a big step up. Way to go MEUS!
So glad u made the jump to the larger 1/10 .

I’d love to try a vrd. Maybe that will be next
@ Would like to see that on the channel !
Must be a beast on the rocks.

That truck looks perfect 👍
What a Beauty of a chassis!
Oh my, another inspiring build. Great job!
That's an amazing course. It would be awesome to have something like that within driving range.
Super cool !

Vanquish stance is what I'd start with. I got the redcat ascent basically the poor man's version.

My build is almost completed, can't wait to get it out.
That thing looks cool Adam. The gold flake really sets it off.

Thanks for showing us

sweet build! love your channel keep on rcing!
I really need to take a drive over to crawler heaven to check it out. It's just getting so darn cold now!
Sick how you went into 1/10 and 1/6 do more running videos.

new body on the scx10 pro! love it!
Yes! I’m not super happy with the paint choice though. Should have gone with a brighter color I feel

Yeah Racing Desert lizards might BE nice alternative ? 🤔

Who painted that body? is that a one off or is that a decal bundle you can buy or is that a full custom livery on the body . absolutely incredible.
In the description it shows where he got the body wrap from
It’s a vinyl wrap. Check out the link in the description. He’s got a bunch of them available!
@CapeCrawlers which option for the wrap did you choose. The site only has one pic for the cliffhanger. Not for each option
For shocks throw some Dessert Lizards on it best bang for the buck run 100mm front 110 mm rear

U should try the rock pirates interceptor chassis
How would you compare that transmitter to the FS GT5? Nice video!
where did you get your links from and if you do the capra axels are you going to change the links? thanks
Just curious
How wide did it end up outside of tire to outside of tire? I am second guessing some of my recent choices Thanks
Why are you running the Panhard mount with 4 link??
Shave the bump stops off the axles and turn up your steering end points
Also you would get better steering if you had a stronger servo. At 13:09 you see your servo stop and the truck moves forward and the steering jerks farther
I will try that! Yes the servo was failing me out there. Need a reefs on there I think
One big question: doesn't the Velcro battery strap on the skid/slider get caught on rocks??
I’ve never experienced it personally
@@CapeCrawlers ok, I do mean on all builds that have the velcro on the slider

I'd check the website or email meus.
@TrokaRC I've checked and have found 2 others, one was the injora branded chassis. Was just hoping for his input if he had any.

@billc9635 ok I see now sorry. Dlux fab has cut to length maybe that might help. If not just gamble with Amazon cheap one.
I think your motor wires are to short bud 😂 jk nice looking kit!
🤣 I could leave the esc at home and still have enough wire to drive the rig around
Just get some black desert lizard shocks
Take the foams out of the tires so it won’t under steer
You wanna get a set of the best rock crawling sharks on the market Dluxfab
I thought the kit comes with their portal axles.
can use whatever you want. doesn't come with any.
They sell a pro version that comes with shocks and their portals for about $100 more
@@CapeCrawlers ok. I will have to check that out.
Its actually kinda sad someone had to vandalize the rock with paint like that
That place is covered with graffiti unfortunately. I’m glad they covered up the bad language at least
I say the danche won did everything alot more easy
