Thank God youhave traveled to where you are. I have never had dexterity to play and am very ignorant of musical theory, but your musical interpretation stands so very manfully to fill that gap by hearing you play and explain as you do. The differences in the performances are actually quite wild and the last is like hearing a new world. Thank you. I shall join your patreon now.
Wonderful! And as for the out-of-tune harpsichord... dear me, I'm a violinist and violin teacher - NO problem filling in what I expect to hear. I probably have more of a problem with the various temperaments! 😁 And isn't Bach wonderful - we can come back to these pieces again and again and they always have more to give...
Lovely "musical journey"! I am a bit of a harpsichord snob (though trying to better myself), but I was very pleasantly surprised by the opening segment in the first recording. It worked really well at that tempo and on that instrument, which had a very rich sound. The 2023 version was ultimately my favourite. I wonder if it just me, but I really like the sound of the slightly out of tune registers on the harpsichord. It gives a slightly maniacal sound that I find works really well for fast movements (and maybe slower dramatic movements as well).
The piano, incidentally, was my teacher's Steinway from the late 1940s. Somehow even back then I preferred pre-1950s Steinways (and pianos in general) to later models :-)
I hope at least the performances were not low in volume -- I made sure they all peaked at 0.5 db, so that's almost as loud as it can get without clipping :-)
@@johnmoraitis ah yes he music is perfect, but often ur explanations are difficult to hear (laptop computer, without great sound), but i guess that it's cause of my side too. Thanks for ur answer, have a nice day!
@@danielgrotz6599 Part of the problem is that I'm using fairly basic editing software, and can't adjust (normalize) the recording level. But I'll see what I can do to improve the issue!

Its really sooooo interesting what you share. I am completely grateful and impressed. Also they are so clear and well arranged. Its so special.
Very nice to experience such well-researched performances!
Great performance both !
Thank you!

I'm hoping to revisit this toccata in about ten years or so!
@@johnmoraitis And I darn well hope to listen to it! Good health to all of us!

I also find that while the music is very easy to hear the speaking is quiet even if I turn my volume all the way up.
